Hey thats right Hendel was from there.  Many people don't know about him but a lot of Dwarves knew of him.  Also Turgeiis village in the Icy mountains has a decent amount of Information on it knowing me and WP detailed it, I got a map around here somewhere.

I dont quite understand - who is to provide the info on all this cities / NPCs stuff?
I mean, can a player just come up with a write up and involve it into the IC setting, or is it something somebody (like former DMs ) once wrote and it is up to us to recover this information?

We're looking for confirmed written materials as well as confirmed character observations.  This is so we can provide an accurate setting for each event that might happen in that city.

I have a lot of info on Nimbortan. If you go to Hesp you can walk through everything Myth detailed out.

For now they want already defiend things, but as a matter of future work, a PC can flesh out a city, or town and especially a village. Most of the named places are not cities but only places large enough or known wenoughto make it on a map some are only trading villages as I jsut noted.

a PC can pick one and ask around for what info there is on it and then do a wirte up if they like. It will need to be checked and then voted on by the TC but many places are PC developed. In fact the whole of Navelorn I worte as a PC and it was placed on the map after the fact because DMs started using it. WhenI wrote it the map of thardferr had not been complete and I put it off the known world on theother side of the Deep Woods (btw which I also named, at the time they were jsut a large forest on the edge of the map with nothing written about them).

so I encourage pc to write up a place, asking about it for what info you can get first but the TC and DMs willlikley use most of what yo give us if it fits the thardferr setting.

After answering a few questions about cities and what not, historically speaking, I figured I'd post this source.  Most of what I have read/know from my field roughly corresponds to this guy's figures, so for purposes, it is probably a good source.  It essentially helps you formulate the size and scale of a medieval kingdom, town, city, etc. as well as what you'd find in it -- good source for those fleshing out places:

I am going through Kryp's old Sorrowtown writeup and organizing it to conform to the "standard" city format.

Who is the Thayne of Sorrowtown?

Any more information on Windtown will be appreciated, though I believe I have most of it.   Whenever I find a little time here and there I am working on it.  Hopefully I'll be able to complete it sometime soon.
