Ok, from everything that I've seen so far, I really like the idea of Maldread being a god of rebellion and revolution. The reasoning for this is:

1) It can begin to blur the lines for this god between good and evil followers. While the god is generally evil, his deity can actually have some positive outcomes, as well. What I see here is that halflings may become devoted to Maldread, particularly many halflings in the Blackwheat movement.

2) Maldread would become a fierce opponent of Syth. It would also make him allied with Elenar, Aerie, possibly also Ballog. Especially the way that I see the order that the gods came into existence, Syth sprang forth from Ballog, but turned against his father because he tried to bring the world under his own power, which is ultimately controlled and therefore lawful, his own progeny with Diadria, however, turns against him in the exact same vein, sowing chaos and disorder wherever he turns, ekeing a living off of the places where Syth's controls cannot extend and plotting to overthrow all of Syth's tyrancy...

3) It offers good political positions for followers of Maldread in the world, because while many followers of Maldread would seek the overthrow of Torin Brand as the ruler of Thardferr, other, farther-seeing followers of Maldread would actually see Brand as the greatest agent fighting AGAINST the tyrancy of the Sythians, who they may see as the greatest threat of rulership...

In any case, they're just a few thoughts...

http://home.att.net/~navelorn/Maldread-The_Deceiver.html

Have you looked at the new write up submitted for Maldread becasue these ideas were incorported into it. If you have more to add to make this more noticeable, then please submit it wquickly becasue we are in the finailazation of each of these gods and their write ups and putting them on the new site being created. The gods are being voted on right now. but last minute changes can still be made. amendments that only add to what is already stated without changing anything can easily be added later as new detail and fleshing of the god's church is done in character.

If you would please write the dogma you would like to have added to the write-up rather than discuss what is needed. if it fits without changing anything we will include it after editing perhaps for continuity spelling grammar, whatever. Just get it to us within the week. At the end of January we hope to have them all accepted as is and formated for the new site. I attempted to rewrite what you have above to add to the dogma a little p[erhaps it is enough to represent what you would like others to see as well in the god.

I happened to notice that Maldred's write up on the http://gods.kyranath.com/Maldread-The_Deceiver.html lists Garalax as his foe and ally both...
Personally I think Garalax would likely be Maldred's ally, or whatever works here better.
