Jereth gives Paks a somewhat stupid grin, "Now we wouldn't want that would we," he says to her chide about Silace getting all the kills. And with a lightning fast movement, the naked two-handed sword launches off the maniacal warrior's shoulder and straight through Joe's torso, no signs of stopping until it sparks off the volcanic rock wall on the bard's other side. Watching the ranger's beau fall into several pieces, the surprised look frozen on the poor man's face, Jereth looks Paks in the face and asks,

"Now which do you think you should consider a mistake to have said to me? That he was going to strip my corpse or that I should listen to your feeble commands?"

His question is accented as Joe's cleanly severed body tumbles over the edge towards the molten chasm below.

((Alrightie, after some consideration and getting back to my comp here i've decided how to handle PC vs PC (as im sure there is going to be some during this) would be handled the same as PC vs Bosses. It will be much like the way we do combat regularly the only difference will be the number of rolls. Instead of one roll for each opponent each player will make five rolls for all opponents. This will save time, and allow the process to resolve more quickly. Rolls will then be measured against the other player, such as their first roll will go against your first roll and two will go against two, etc etc. So, to keep this moving but to give people ample time to make their post anyone wishing to partake in the combat please make 5 rolls with your combat potential (if you don't know what that is, don't worry i'll message you with it and explain it in the message) and say who they are against.

Example:

Joe vs Jereth
Joe Rolling 1d100+2:
(52)+2: Total = 54

Rolling 1d100+2:
(56)+2: Total = 58

Rolling 1d100+2:
(75)+2: Total = 77

Rolling 1d100+2:
(42)+2: Total = 44

Rolling 1d100+2:
(69)+2: Total = 71

Don't worry about the clutter i'll clean everything up after it's resolved.
PLEASE MAKE YOUR PRACTICE ROLLS ON THE NAMED THREAD TO KEEP THIS ONE CLEANISH

Flinging her staff over the edge of the path and into the river of lava below, the ranger pulls out her swords and advances on the big warrior, knowing full well she won't make it out of this fight. I'll be with you soon Joe are the rangers last thoughts as she lunges towards Jereth.

((Held off on posting, wasn't entirely sure how things would be handled as with any PC-PC fighting.))

With her back turned to the sudden attack, Evelyn only gets a quick mental warning, moving forward swiftly without even thinking about the warning. She sprints ahead a few feet, then whirls around, spells coming to her mind for all sorts of different scenarios only to see the fighting is between the three humans. She puts her hands back down but is far from relaxed, she looks over to see what Goremaul and Silace are doing.

All the while, thoughts run through her head as to what might be happening, she sends a message to her sister, who has positioned herself in a crag overlooking the fight, "The big one is unstable but will likely emerge the victor unless the other two have some tricks they can use on him. If he continues fighting after they are finished, we'll likely have to get involved."

Caiomhe sends a mental nod to her sister, "We'll have to watch this one, I don't want to get rid of him if we're going to continue on with this mission since we'll need a meat shield or two for dragon bait. I just wish we could do something for the woman..."

Evelyn shakes her head, "Remember, even though she's a woman, she's still just a Thardferrian. They are all beneath us, so no reason to risk our necks over hers."

The only mental response is a seeming "harumph" but Caiomhe doesn't argue. Instead the two of them begin coming up with strategies in case the behemoth decides to try and get rid of all of them.

Goremaul reacts to the big mans aggression, pushing the sternum of the ribs on his armor causing the back of each rib to pop up off his back exposing the handles of twelve throwing axes (one per rib) on each side. Seeing the act was not directed at him, he calms visibly though still resting his hands on the axe handles. The armored dwarf watches the one-sided human duel with slight interest, while he tries to decipher Silace's and Evelyn's reaction towards this seemingly random act of aggression. Seeing that the silent woman's actions were more reactionary and not part of an ambush. The smith thinks to himself that if this is an ambush it is tactically stupid to betray the group before reaching their objective, trying to decide if this is the action of the big man alone. Goremaul waits to see what Silace does.

When Paks drops her stick and draws on Jereth, Goremaul contemplates saving the girls life with the "accidental trip" technique but decides not to interfear, having no love for naive ranger and knowing full well the man would destroy her. She and the unknown guy had The dwarf had no intetions of denying honor from this duel if thats is what it was. After seeing him eviserate the unknown human and his obvious instability, Goremaul starts to believe the man is more like the things from tales one would tell to terrify young ones.

Looks up to where the group was and seeing the fight brewing Silace's hands move to the hilts of his weapons easing them up and down making sure they were free of the scabbard and won't hinder his actions. ~Already in-fighting~ he thinks chuckling for a moment. "Don't you all think that we should let something like this wait until we see what's waiting for us?" he says not moving for his position below the group. Looking around he sees the cave to his right, he contemplates escape options.

((Alrightie, sorry bout the delay, I got swamped the last two days, i've sent everyone a message with their combat potential and explained it to you Also there's going to be some OOC calculations being done to decide who loses and when. Basically i'll add up percentages per round (each roll line) and when someone reaches 0% the remainder of their rolls no longer count.))

Joe vs Jereth (applied a penalty of 25 to his roll for damage already done)

Jereth manages to defeat the bard, sending his body over the cliff. The bard does manage one last act of defiance before he goes though, with a flourishing display of skill he gets one of his swords into the un-armored pit under jereths ring wearing arm. Removing the arm and sending it flying into the lava with him. Even with one arm the one-armed bandit manages to fell the woman as well.

((Normally Jereths rolls after gettin an arm severed would have been reduced, but through some OOC math I noticed his rolls were still higher than Paks'. Also, crit's (natual 1's and 100's) are going to be devastating as they should be on a d100.))

The bard falling breathlessly as his lungs had been halved by the tremendous attack by the homicidal warrior, has mere moments of consciousness to appreciate the not nearly as complete dismembering of his attacker. A roar of agony and hatred escapes the mangled Jereth, his pain-hazed vision barely catching the distraught and vengeful ranger's charge.

Dropping his now unwieldy sword, the crazed savage instead grits his teeth into a maddened, maniacal expression. Laughter the nature that sane and well balanced folks cringe from escapes his fanged mouth, as he rushes forward to meet Paks' suicidal devotion. Rushing inside her swing, he first crushes her face with a brutal head but, made further harsh by the steal helmet atop his head. As she reels dazed, the remaining fist shoots out once, then twice the six inch spike affixed to the worn gauntlet opening gaping holes in the woman's torso, blood erupting in a shocking volume.

Staggering back, a stream of deranged, sadistic laughter still bubbling from his lips, Jereth drops to a knee and with much effort, tears a torch from his pack along with the flint and steel striker. After a series of gorily comedic attempts, the torch is lit, and the berserk laughter fading to an unstable mutter, the unhinged man eyeballs the flaming club. With a grizzly gleeful look, the madman looks at the others in the group warily as he applies the flaming brand to his bloody stump of an arm, the sound and smell of searing flesh arising as he cauterizes the fresh, traumatic wound.

Rising to his feet as Paks' few last breaths wheeze from her shattered frame, the psychotic fighter growls at the gaping remainder of the group,

"Well anyone else going to pick my corpse?"

Still burning torch in hand, Jereth seems undeterred by the loss, his will resist any further threats seemingly unchanged.

Watching the whole grisly scene before he eyes the tall warrior from his perch. He looks at the members who had just fallen and shakes his head. ~What a waste. Better to say out of that one's reach and kill him from behind. If I decided to pick over his corpse I will wait until he is that.~ Silace thought as he was shaking his head. "Well I didn't think it could smell worse in here until now."He spoke while trying to get away from the burning flesh smell. Then looking at the one-armed man standing there menacingly, Silace turns his face away to hide the chuckle that bubbled up.
