Heading off into the forest, hopefully in the direction of the mountain, the group is led by Agneus. All seems well enough until about 10 minutes into the journey, the bard walks head on into a trap that is very well concealed by the forest floor. A large net springs up and captures the man, bow and all, and pulls him high up into a trees above, hanging from a branch.

[Mudguard]

"What the..."
After Agneus recovered from his initial shock, he let forth a loud torrent of curses. Finally calming down, he scrabbled round in his sack and pulled out his dagger and oboe. After tucking the oboe under his quiver strap he carefully cut a small hole in the top of the net,  put his hand through, and grabbed the rope attached to it.
He cut a larger hole, pulled up his sack and bow and  pushed them through  letting  them fall to the ground.
Then, he pulled himself up the rope and scrabbled along the branch before attempting to make his way down the tree trunk.

Agneus scrabbled down the tree, grabbed his sack and said "Crafty, very crafty. These man eaters are not stupid"
With that, Agneus resumed his foray into the undergrowth.

Lilac

After taking the offered hand of Arak, I headed off into the scrub letting the dwarf guide my way, which might I add happened to be extremely lucky given the situation that Agneus had found himself in. I watched him as he carefully freed himself from the trap. As he took off into the scrub again, I called out to him, "Umm Agneus, do you think maybe it might be a good idea to let someone who....say is good at detecting traps take the lead?"

[Mudguard]

Agneus stops mid-stride. "Oh heh, good point. After you." Agneus waves Lilac forward.

[Paks]

Lilac

"You know, on second thoughts, you did a pretty good job when you first took the lead. Perhaps it would be a good idea to keep following you after all" I replied to Agneus, my eyebrows raised a little.

[Zee]

Joe:

*Nods in agreement with lilac.* "Aye, that ya did lad. Not only did you detect that cunning little trap you also managed to work your way through it. Quite impressive." *He takes a moment to lean over next to paks and whisper to her.* "Plus it was entertaining as hell."

[Mudguard]

Agneus paused and looked in some puzzlement at Lilac as she changed her mind. He raised his eyebrows back at her.
Then he reflected on what she had said "A leader...".  Pushing his shoulders back, chin up, puffing his chest  and buttocks out in imitation of a certain famous actor,  Agneus turned his face back to the dark undergrowth and strode resolutely into it.
