It may not be perfect, but atleast this way i hope we can get a tally so we know where the majority stands.

BTW, set the poll to 10 days, no point in it dragging on and on.

Everyone please feel free to vote whether your brand new, old, active, inactive, or just a passer-by.

Well since we have a number of votes and no opinions on this, I'll throw mine it.

I cast my vote for other. Being that we allow both systems to run side by side, without giving preference to one or the other. We don't have one as our main system, but we simply give the option of running either, leaving it up to the DM to decide what system to use for his/her game.

The same approval process would be required for giving magical items, treasures, or spells, so it shouldn't be an issue there. The only issues are character creation and experience, that's it.

Even though I already cast my vote, I have to admit I like Feff's option better.

I agree with Feff also.. run them side by side, no 'main' system.

I tired to add the option to the poll, but its not playing the game for me today Sad

WE have had this vote before and we always come back to offering to do it as Feff suggests.

My vote is to do as Feff suggests and as many of us have suggested in the past.

If a DM can ok each character as being appropriate for Thardferr at creation as it ahd been done when Thardferr forst started, that would solve much of the problem.

If we cna setle an official qual experience for both . or any system so that no character gains levels faster than any other that would solve the other major problem.

The Game mechnic matters little as long as we are all playing in the same world with the same oppurtunities as well as can be practiced and on equal ground.

I agree with feffs idea aswell, and i think most of us do rigth now, how about another poll for feffs idea with a simple yes or no ?

Regarding the exsperience, we could always alter the 2ed to go abit faster, that way we can reduce most damage towards the 3.5 system.

Hell, lets make the 3.5 alittle slower, and the 2ed alittle faster to make em closer.

how about we simply find a 3e DM to kick it off - seems to be our trouble every time, all the talk it fine, but nothing ever comes of it.  I think it just needs someone to jump in and do it, even if things need to be sorted out on the fly - so be it, that a DM's job afterall.

Ya right now it would be solely on the dm's to take by the horns.  However, its not just having knowledge of the 3e but also taking the time to convert stuff over into 3e.

For example all the specialty priests, the blade master class, custom spells and what not that have been developed over the past 8 years and convert them into working 3e character classes.. feats progression and what not.

Personally I've never dm'ed in 3e.. My sole dm'ing experience comes from 2e, and I put the bulk of my dm'ing work into online worlds.  thardferr was my first experience... all 2e, then i was playing nwn and dm'ing for an online persistent world which nwn is based of 3e, however I didn't have to deal with any type of game mechanics, just tell a story, spawn some bad guys or npcs, and have fun.

Right now Feff is the only active dm group wise, pending approval of me I will start reading up on the 3e dm guide and base my decision if I want to just kick that off or not.
