Revenge is sometimes not so sweet...

Leaning on her staff at the edge of the clearing, watching the party battle the reptilian creatures, Paks can’t help but raise her eyebrows as Vella decides to take revenge on the creature for swallowing Khazdan, by ramming her sword into the large eggs belonging to the creatures. Shaking her head slightly, the creature discards Taith and Cray and furiously grabs the pretty elf thief and takes her life as punishment.

As Paks still leans on her staff, Vella appears beside her. Paks motions to the scene before them, the group defeats the creatures and the Windwander, Aedia, performs the burial ceremony for the beautiful elf before Taith, Gyld and Aedia place her body in her final resting spot, a hallowed out tree.

“Poor Taith, he’ll blame himself for this you know. You’re not the first of his friends that walks with me, there’s Raito, who waits a little deeper in the forest, he’s been wanting a friend for some time now, though I doubt he expected one as pretty as you” she says softly as she merges with the forest, taking Vella with her, “At least you’ll be remembered a hero, for I almost had Taith himself….until you distracted me”

Fighting back a sniffle so he doesn't interupt Aedia's eerie but solemn song, Taith helps place the elf in her burial tree. He slips a small bag, clinking softly with coins, into Vella's clothes, whispering, "In case you ever want to come find us, this will pay your way." Stepping back to let the others pay their last respects, the thief spins a small purple gem on the tip of his finger, smiling through the tears, "I have an idea." Sitting on a fallen log, he stares into the gem, "I wonder what your story could have been, Vella Vardi..."
