Upon receiving his meal he pays the keep and starts to eat his meal.  The sensation of spiced meat and buttered corn a welcome taste.  Not one usuall on the open road, but only dreamt of.

Another small gust breezes through the inn just before a blue jay flutters in flying a few circles before landing on Karanath's shoulders.  Those that pay attention could swear the bird was talking to him and that he was talking to the bird, but that would be utter non-sense and many put the illusion out of their mind as the bird takes flight again and leaves the premises from which it came.

Shortly after the bird takes its leave Karanath continues to eat his meal slowly, savoring every bit and though it was his last.

Barthis just shrugs, glancing back at the table he'd been at earlier, wondering what the ranger and the dancer were talking to the halfling about. He turns back to Leon,

"The misfortune is mostly my pursuer's. Their losses have been.... considerable, but still they give chase. As long as I remain vigilant, I have little to worry about from them."

Frowning a bit and looking to the floorboards, Barthis doesn't immediately answer Leon's second question. Shifting from one foot to the other he says quietly, "Cethlyn," he pauses then looks up, "There are some wounds in this world that can never heal."

With a nod from his hooded head, Barthis straightens,

"Farewell Leon Bloodcastle, may your Sword guide you well."

He turns and walks back over to Paks' and Letha's table, "My apologies, so what is it we are discussing?"

The diminutive man smiles up at Barthis return.  "Well, my tall friend.  Wee were just discussing the olfactory difference between Ruchian and Tuthian citizens.  Would you care to expound on the notion that Tuthians are, shall we say, less scent challenged?"

He smiles broadly as he waits for an answer from the large man.

Leon nods at Barthis as the man gets up to leave. Seems Barthis still had fresh wounds. Still, Leon wondered about the twins's condition.

With a shrug he gets up himself, turning to his companion seated

"I have sent my missives to Ruch, and the recruitment here is almost done. I trust you shall return to Lithar and teach these youngs what i've taught you Halcyon. Our liege demands this force soon. As for me, i will return to the others for the time being. The matter of the pillars must be settled. Farewell, friend, Mahacto guide your way"

The gray haired man pushes the cloak back over his head, inspects both his blades and exits the door, the pug trotting happily besides him.

Paks seems a little surprised by Letha's openess when only moments before she had seemed like the shy type, but then again, she never was a good judge of character, her time with Boltt certainly proved that.

"That was a beautiful dance Letha and your voice, it gets better each time" she says kindly to the woman.

As Barthis joins them, the ranger gives the man a quick smile and guestures for him to take a seat.

" Our small friend here was just saying how much he admired Letha, I mean the view, before you came back over " the ranger says with a grin, " You can always ask your friend to join us if he's in no hurry" Paks suggests.

Letha

She watches the strange man leave with his dog, her eyes cautious and intense, lingering for several moments before turning back to the others.
She looks back to the others around her table blushing at Paks compliments and nodding a bit nervously.

" That poor little pup, must of had a hard time. There's always room for one more, though he does look a bit hardened."

She shrugs, absently twirling a strand of hair around her finger.

Pulling up a chair, Barthis looks at the halfling with raised eyebrows. Knowing that he himself is in sore need of a bath, the taller man chuckles and shrugs,

"A few hard days on the road and everyone ends up stinking a bit. From my past experiences with Ruch, few are the days without difficulty."

Offering the halfling a hand with the tell-tale scars of years of swordplay upon it, he says, "Name's Kog."

He turns a slight grin on Paks, settling into his chair. Looking to Letha as the conversation turns towards her performance, Barthis cannot help but nod in agreement to Paks' estimation of the other girl's talent. "Twas most entertaining."

Shrugging at the open table offers in regards to the exiting man and his dog, Barthis picks up what he thinks is his glass from earlier and finishes it off. "If he's not in a hurry," he murmurs with a smile hidden by the glass.

"Pardon for the change of topic, but Lady Paks aren't you worried about the job you've taken on? Being the bearer of bad news has its definite risks."

The ranger takes another look at the pup that Letha speaks of, " It certainly does seem that he's had a harder life than most" she says softly, sorrow in her voice clearly heard by those surrounding her, "Although, he doesn't seem to effected by it, he must have a good relationship with his human" she adds a little curiously.

Turning her attention to Barthis, Paks smiles and answers his question, " That is true, it does have it's risks but luckily for me I can defend myself when forced to" she says, laying a hand on her sword.

"It's definately not a task I cherish but I guess someone's got to do it" she says with a raised eyebrow as she takes another mouthful of ale, "Though, I don't really enjoy leaving my cottage for this amount of time, especially since I have a young friend staying there by herself but hopefully the job will only take a day or two longer before I can head back"
