(Written by Dan)
It was only an hour or so ago; in an attempted scrying; that the diviner known as Dan Reeve was blinded by the strange magics that protected the location he and his group had been pulled into. The last thing he remembered seeing where the two talons that reduced his eyes to useless bloody orbs. One could safely assume that because of his lack of sight, he was unable to avoid the searing pain that was the feeling he last felt. Caught in a stray fireball; yet unable to react to the flames that scorched many in the group; Dan was reduced to a charred, and likely smelling corpse.

Expecting final judgment to come, the spirit of Dan wonders just what kind of afterlife he'd get caught up in. So far, in the few brief seconds he'd been dead; the experience hadn't been all that exciting. Not exactly the most religious man; he'd paid homage to more than one god much like any mage could. Of course, with a bit of dread; the soul of Dan wonders exactly how his actions, especially those yet to be resolved, would be taken by the gods. Lacking a physical body; he couldn't exactly shudder at the thought and the darkness he could only percieve certainly brought him no respite.

Dan's player looks over at Feff with a frownl, "You and your deadly explosions... traps and spells, fail a save and die; bah!". With a sigh he says, "No matter, it happens to the best of us" and shrugs while rummaging through some character sheets, he demeanor changing to one slightly more thoughtful. "Three years; poor Dan. Very little actually went his way beyond the basic elements of life; and now he's finally dead. I suppose I should be happy to have gotten him this far; level 9. Only a a month or three away from a level too". Finally deciding upon his next PC, the player turns to Feff and hands it over for approval, "Alright then, Let's make this one interesting".

(Written by Feff)
Feff grins, winking at Dan, "Told you I was going to get you sooner or later. You have escaped death countless times and the dice gods took that into account." Grabbing up the character sheet, he mutters about another mage.

The half-naked, half-crazed mage takes Dan's body and slaps the blind diviner awake. He grins as the other mage slowly comes to, his soul trapped back in his body. The mage keeps grinning, "You can't die yet, I still need you. Is it true blind diviners have greater senses? If so, that's wonderful, I've been needing someone else to test out my banana parfait recipes..."

Sitting at a table in the semi-dark as candles are lit by barmaids, Jereth stares into his drink, a strong almost poisonous brew called grog by the man that made it. He chuckles slightly but not out of humor, knowing others of the group were working to bring the brewer back from his fall. No his thoughts are turned to a different comrade who had been removed from this existance as he looks into the drink.

"Dan Reeve, a mostly useless magi of the Order of the Sword, whatever that is," he growls to no one in particular. "At least thats what I had thought at first we met. No combat skills, weak and fragile as a child, not exactly someone I'd have thought I would travel with to distant points on the world. No you weren't a great warrior or an imposing wizard, but you had far more courage and honesty than I ever thought I'd admit to one of your profession." Hoisting the glass in a toast to the dead diviner, Jereth says in an honest voice, "Here's to you Dan Reeve," draining the glass.

Robillard sits upstairs in a quiet inn in some dwarven town.  Across the table from him, sharing a pot of tea and discussing recent events, is his sister Lasalia.

Robillard takes a sip and frowns, dwarves not being known for their tea.  "It's too bad about Dan."

Lasa simply nods, agreeing with a quiet "Mmm."

"I mean," the invoker goes on "I feel like I should be more upset."

Lasa raises an eyebrow.  "How so," she asks.

"Well,"  Robillard shifts in his seat a bit. "maybe it's cause I didn't particularly like Dan.  Don't get me wrong, he was a good man, but he made me uncomfortable.  He always seemed to be watching me, trying to find things out."

Lasa laughs.  "That wouldn't really be a problem unless you were trying to hide something then would it?"

Robillard frowns.  "That's not funny.  Anyway, why should I be worried?  As far as I know Dan didn't have any children, and now we've got his grandson.  So he's either alive now or he will be eventually.  Nothing to get worked up about."

Lasa half smirks at him.  "Whatever you have to tell yourself to sleep at night."  He tone then grows a bit warmer,  "At least you feel bad about not feeling bad,  so of course you care."

"There's always Turgeiis too,"  the young invoker says, frowning much more deeply.

"Mmm."  Lasa replies, before both become silent for some time, deep in thought as they finish their tea.

I would remind you that he is a high mage, armed with powerful killing spells.  I would hate to see him lose his temper and redirect those magics---like he directed his anger at Liriel" -Gibreel

::Looks down upon the charred body of Dan and then looks to Zee carrying his head like a melon and Jereth hauling his body away like a sack of grain.  The big spirit warrior simply sighs and readjust his head back on his shoulders and looks over to Dan starring at his body.::

"I ain't staying for long and I ain't going into the next world with no head.  You can stand here all you want but I died once already I know where to go and get a good drink.  I'll be in Thrs hall until they bring me back.  I don't think they allow skinny magelings though Reeve, your better off staying with the crazy mage."

f I had a Lawful Good character playing with Turgeiis, my strategy would be something like treating him like a loaded gun and doing my best to point him in the right direction.  If you play it well Turgeiis will be guided by others as long as he doesn't necessarily realize he's being guided. ~Dupre aka Chris one night after a session.

Lucas

He takes a seat at the table with the others, running a finger around the rim of a glass sitting before him. He stares at the water intently, finally letting out a long sigh.

" I can not believe you are truely gone. We have traveled for many a winter passed together. Companions came and went, but you were always by my side, first as my commanding officer, then as my friend. We have been through much together and I find it difficult to travel on without your companionship. I owe you my life, a debt not easily repaid. Sleep well good friend, you were are rare breed of man and have earned a good rest. To Dan, mage, Master Sgt. and best friend."

He raises his glass in homage before drinking the cool liquid and letting his memories fill his mind of better times.
