At the largest tavern on the surface part of Tanninshire, the Blade's Night, a cloaked figure enters. Cloaked in blacked, his face cannot be seen, but the one can see hanging around his neck on a chain a medallion in the shape of a mountain, the symbol of Thr. Approaching Quilo, the gnome bartender who owns the tavern, the cloaked man whispers a few words to Quilo, hands him a couple scrolls and walks out of the tavern. Shortly after leaving, Quilo goes over by the entrance of the tavern, and hangs up a couple of the scrolls he was given.

The scrolls read:

"To those of good heart and courage, I present the opportunity to put those attributes to the test. Please inquire with Quilo at the bar for further details. May Thr watch over you.

-Lord Algion, Grand Mountainlord of Thr, Lord of Tanninshire."

Returning to the bar, Quilo reads the scroll that the cloaked man gave him one more time. He then looks around, wondering what exactly Lord Algion is up to this time...

At the Blade's Night Tavern, Cielise manages to squeeze between two dwarves to take a seat at the bar.  With large almond eyes, and blond hair tied back into two tails, the young gnome seems too sweet and pretty to be carrying a sword at her hip, slinging a quiver of arrows over her shoulder, and wearing leather armor over her 3'3" figure.  Yet, her slender arms have a sinewy quality telling of training with the blade.  She smiles politely to her bearded neighbors on either side of her, before fishing around in a pouch for the last of her coin.  The smile turns to a small frown as Cielise counts the copper pennies in the palm of her hand.  Then, catching the eye of the gnome bartender Quilo, she orders a small glass of water and the meager end-slice off a loaf of bread, before inquiring if the establishment needs extra help.

"A temporary scullion, maybe?" she asks hopefully, following up Quilo's silence while trying not to be too obtrusive to the patrons around her.  She asks in a very direct way, without the least bit of shame, though her cheeks flush a bit when Quilo motions for her to wait for his reply while he attends to a man cloaked in black who had just entered and made his way over to the bar.  She sits quietly, gently sipping from the glass of water, and keeps her hands cupped around it.

No help needed at two other taverns already, and there might not be many more in this place!  I so wanted to see more of Tanninshire!  Uncle Marley never seemed to have such horrible luck finding the odd job to get by for a few days at someplace.  A wry smile flashed across Cielise's pretty features.  At least not that he ever mentioned in his stories.

Looking back over at Quilo, Cielise notices that the bartender had finished attending to the man in black.  Cielise watches Quilo walk over near the entrance, post a sheet and then return to the bar.  Sensing his distraction as he scans another scroll and then looks around thoughtfully, she decides to gently remind him of her presence, and with a bit of luck, also of her inquiry about the help situation.

"Hi."  The young gnome smiles at Quilo.  "Whatsit say?  I dunno my letters."

Quilo smiles at the young lass, "Well my dear, it says that Lord Algion is looking for good folk who feel they can take the challenge of doing good. You're the first to inquire, and I hope there will be a few more."

Cielise beams, her infectious smile reflecting gentle good humor and kindliness.  She knew that the bartender would help a cousin gnome, just knew it!  Doing good sure sounded better than washing a bunch of dirty dishes.  Excitedly, her lavender eyes flutter between Quilo and the unintelligible scroll in his hands.  She imagines seeing more of the city, and...  My!  Doing work for a great lord!  Just like one of dear Uncle Marley's old adventures.

"Oooh," she whimpers with a bit of worry.  "Do you think he can use someone like me?  I would love to do good work, I really would!"
