Coming out of the Fog

[Scionist]

*Hearing the reaction she has to the arch the orc decides to press the issue.  Manuvering himself behing the arch he presses his back up against it and pushes it forward.   Ushering the arch along he tries directing it towards the voice of the empress.*

*With his back to the vile woman he looks to the others in the party for any sign that what he is doing isn't what is needed at this moment.*

[Nyrhtlyk the Dark]

Damian is content to wait for the time being, though the thought occurs to him suddenly that this would be a nice distraction for other events happening around the room. Keeping his staff set to absorb magical energy, he begins to rotate his flying body around in a circle, quickly examining the walls and ceiling of the chamber, half-expecting to be stuck in the midst of a trap.

[Lalina]

Krystal

Krystal keeps her sword and shield drawn.  She keeps her eyes away from the Empress specifically and instead keeps a sharp lookout for the signs of a trap or ambush as she guards Gul-Shad as he brings the arch closer to the Empress.

[Jelani]

Jan'doire enters the large chamber near the back of the group with Orion at his side. Keeping his eyes from the Empress, he sweeps the room before his vision settles on the orc struggling to push the Arch towards the Sythian leader.

oO (So brave, he risks everything for the good of others...) Oo

He lowers his sword and dagger slightly, unsure of what will happen next as most of the words spoken are beyond his grasp.


OOC - Does anyone else think the Empress is really Myth in disguise?  Put down your weapon and lay down?  The only thing that is missing is the get naked part

Xxian was confused, .oO shouldn't the emporess have exploded, or turned into powder, or die some other dramatic way when she see the arch? - must be other way, must be! Oo.

Letting his end down for a moment, he rushed to the side of his orcish companion.  Catching his attention, the gnome looked up at him and quickly blurted out his idea.

"arch not kill her, maybe it send her somewhere else, make bad lady go through arch, through it.  We can't get bad lady to walk through arch, but we can make arch go around her - so then she go through, right? then she go somewhere else, right? or maybe die!"

He then ran back to his side of the arch, and looked to Gul Shad for confirmation as of his plan, as he took hold of the arch once more in readyness.

[Heretic]

:With the fog gone Turgeiis sweeps the room expecting doom guards, demons, or giants to battle.  Yet all he sees is the beautiful empress.  Dissasspointed at having nothing to turn steel against, he looks to the other front line warriors at his side then back to the empress with a wolfish smile(though not able to be seen under his helmet):

"BAH I kneel to no man or woman.  Fall to you knees and prostrate this." (gives her the thardferrian version of the finger)

[Scionist]

*He looks down at Xxian as the little man blurts out his idea.*

"Not sure Xxian, I don't know what is supposed to happen.  If it needs to happen then we'll do just that."

*He turns to Gibreel and looks at him questioningly.*

"Now what?"

[Gibreel]

*Gibreel decides to communicate his response through his spectral force spell, this time simply using the auditory abilities of the spell to talk into the ears of those who speak with him. This time he responds to Gul-shad and those with him with the illusionary voice*

"If I knew that, I could have left written directions and stayed at home. Keep steady and see what happens,there are others doing other things." the voice says into the ears of those approching with the Arch.

[Dalan]

The Empress seems to consider Liriel's words for a few moments, when Turgeiis blurts out his insult.  Her eyes open in sudden rage, and points her staff at him, speaking "Die, insolent fool!"

Not even turning to watch the results, she floats down to the floor, about 10 yards from the Arch.  Considering it closely she turns back to Liriel, with a hopeful look upon her face.

"I don't know Kayla, you say he is in the arch... How would you know this?  She turns back to Rhade.  "Commune with our Goddess and tell me if it is true!  If all I need to do is enter the arch..."

She watches them start moving the arch toward her again.  "Stop slaves, or I shall kill you as you stand!"

She smirks at Liriel and Rhade, shaking her head slightly.

[Robillard]

Robillard appears thoroughly confused for a moment, but then smirks as he realizes Rhade will be able to convince the Empress to go through the arch at any moment.  The young invoker walks around so that he is behind the arch and faces the empress putting out his arms in a come hug me gesture, hoping she's still insane enough to think he's the emperor.

[Gibreel]

Gibreel agains uses the illusion to whisper in the ears of the those moving the Arch. "You may want to listen, and stop, for now."

[Scionist]

*Not minding the protest of the empress he continues to move the arch until Gibreel whispers to him.  At the behest of the goblin he stops moving the arch and rests up against it.  As he leans against the stone, he listens, just as Gibreel instructed.*

...o0((I wonder if this thing could crush her...That would be funny...all this fighting and fussing over the powerful empress and in the end she's crushed by a stone!  HA!  That would make for a great story one day.  That is if I live through this.  I wonder what happened to Damien))0o...

[Nyrhtlyk the Dark]

Damian watches quietly, knowing full well that the Empress can likely spot him at will given the references to her own abilities. Still, he knows that he's only got a singular opportunity presented to him, he's content to wait and bide his time, even though he knows it only benefits the Empress's position at the moment.

As she points her staff at Turgeiss, he watches to see the effects of her outburst against the newcomer.

[Rhade]

Rhade remains impassive, though a muscle in her jaw twitches slightly as the Empress rebukes her.  

.oO You dare spurn what I have to say?  Perhaps you have lived so long as to have forgotten that the faithful of Diadria hardly ever tolerate allowing a soul to escape life through any means other than death.  Diadria empower me to take you to the Court of Bone myself!


Still rooted with anger, she barely notices the Empress address her, once again as Hermila.  A moment passes as Rhade is confused at what is transpiring.  She hears what Liriel has to say, and then the Empress' response to that.

"Try not to kill the slaves, my Empress," Rhade suggests quietly, soothingly in Sythian.  She returns the Empress' knowing smirk with a tight-lipped smile of her own.  "They were brought here to bear witness to your triumph."  Here, Rhade gestures to the archway.  "But if you wish for me to commune with our goddess about the arch, I will do as you command."

Rhade makes a few motions and chants a few syllables.  Nothing apparent happens, and it looks as if Rhade is in contemplation.  A very brief time passes, and the priestess looks back to the Empress, the beginnings of a broader smirk beginning to tug at the corners of her lips.

"It is done, Empress.  Our goddess confided to me that 'Through the archway the deal will be fulfilled and she will find him waiting.'"

[Swaniff]

Tolin still stands nearby to Gul as the orc stops in moving the arch.  He still has that odd peaceful look about his face, as if he has experienced all the hope and peace of the world.  Still having a compassionate smile, he says to the empress, wondering if she will even hear in her conversation with Rhade.

"Yes, it be told that peace awaits the one who travels into the arch, finally peace from what seems like a lifetime of searching for that which the one lost."
