Krystal

The female paladin in armor looks about for more possible dangers.  She had helped secure Rithas while also bringing the wounded to the healers.  She still looked wounded herself but seemed willing to go on.

She remained quiet as she let the others discuss what they should do with the elf.  Instead, she remained viligent, looking around for more dangers or other foes that might harm the others.

she then turned and spoke to the others.

"We should get on a move on as soon as possible -- we best not linger here."

She pauses for a moment. "You found the Arch, correct?  If so, our final confrontation in this place nears."

Taking a deep gasping gulp of air as life is restored to his limbs and he regains conciousness, his first reaction is to jump up and start running in circles, however his injuries inhibit him from standing straight away, after a few moments, he gathers the strength to at least sit up.

His jaw shiverin as he inspects his wounds, poking his fingers in them as only Xxian does, then inspecting the combined blood and goo that remained upon his fingers.

Clenching his jaw to stop his teeth from chattering, the expression on his face left no mistake as to the state of his physical health, his mental health however was what was currently stopping him from moving.

Looking around at the carnage, his ears hearing the sounds of his wounded comrades in arms lying about bleeding, dieing.  The occasional louder moans of pain was only broken by the soft tones of those wil less injuries, discussing their state of health, tending to the heavily wounded and plans of where to go and what to do from here.

Sucking in a deep breath, his jaw still quivering, Xxian finaly attmepted to talk, however only a squeek came out at first, the noise nearly brought tears to his eyes. Swallowing, he tried again:

"what, what happen?  Xxian sleep?"

He had so much more he wanted to say, but he just couldn't find the strength for it right now.  He was also very nervous, for if he had fallen asleep during the comotion, he feared the repercussion from those he accompanied, given the circumstances.

*Standing listening to the mages and others speak he remains silent.  Taking in all the comotion continuing in the aftermath and preparation for the next battle he seems almost too calm.  Having nothing of real import to add to the conversation his memory jarred by the mention of the archway and facing the empress.  His mind drifts back to the battle with the brass man at the entrance to the room that held the archway.  Thinking of the sword he picked up, the words of the emperor cut into his mind and he shudders.*

...o0(("You will slay these interlopers!"  I have never heard such malice.  Not even from that spirit that took my life.  That man, if he can even be called a man, was pure evil.  He had to have been.  When I held the sword I felt it's power surging through me.  I still feel tainted by the evil.  I hate to bathe but if I make it through this I will wash for hours to try and get this feeling off me.  Perhaps I will visit the temple to Kreon and ask for purification.))0o...

OOC:  Logically it may not be the best place to put me but IC wise Robillard would want to be defending the injured.  His sister Lasa is on the injured list and it would be very hard to convince him to leave her.

OOC:  Actually now that I think of it, you should consider including Lasa in that telepathy spell.  Since she has no tongue this is probably the only way she'd be able to communicate.  Considering the prophecy makes her seem important, and she probably knows the most about the empress and Sythian history in general it might be a good idea to have her able to communicate with us.

OOC: My position in the first wave is fine.  Rhade still has much of her spells and her health.  She also supposedly has some IC knowledge of the Empress' motivations and the Archway, though this knowledge has not been given to her player yet Wink

OOC: These will be Damian's thoughts and arguments as to the organization.

The initial assault group needs to be comprised of those who are the most healthy individuals and most protected. Their job is to get in, establish a presence in the room and then allow the other groups to get in to help them out. It's probably the most dangerous group, since your walking into the unknown, but it's the most vital.

The second group can consist of some of the warriors, but who are wounded. The idea being the first group will engage the warriors, the second group will come in and help those in the first group to finish off their foes.  Basically, my traditional "Battle Buddies" idea going into play as the second person comes in and helps out the first whose primary job is holding ground.

I'm okay with Gibreel's group for the main idea, I just think out of 21 people, the initial group should be around 6 to 8 people just to establish the beachhead. Those most injured, will be a third wave, since even if they are injured, if they can fight, they need to come in and offer some support if we are going to pull out of this. Otherwise, they need to excuse themselves completely.

So, 3 waves.   Initial wave goal is to survive initial attacks and prevent the group being bottlenecked into an area. Wave 2 is going to help push Wave 1's efforts, and Wave 3 will finalize things.

As for the amulet, I don't think that's been discussed yet, but it's going to come up again as a device for protection in the first wave. Due to it's abilities.

OOC: Doh, hate it that one can't edit the last post. :)  Oh well, here's a bit of an IC thought for everyone.

"I understand that for many of you, your head is bloody, but don't let it be bowed. If you hesitate, your life is just as forfeit as the rest of us. The empress is counting on our fear of her, of the tyranny she's wielded to keep others in place. So, bind your wounds or have others bind them for you.  If you can stand, then you can fight. If you can fight, that's all that anyone can ask. Find strength in your ability to challenge her, ignore your doubts and hesitance about overcoming her. We've known since we stepped through that portal, that this may be the last thing we may ever attempt. If this is to be my last battle, I'll face it on my own two feet, standing defiant before my opponent, than on my knees asking for mercy. Wounds should only scar the body, not the spirit."

"That in mind, I need volunteers to be the first to challenge the Empress and her defenses. I'll be in the front, but I need others to assist me in overcoming her first line of defenses so that the others may get through to her. If it's upon my bloodied corpse that they make it to her, so be it, I've no regrets in this."

OOC: I have estanblished a place to put our OOC formation on the General Boards, so you can look there for information that I will edit/fix as we go along. That way we can focus on IC here, and OOC there.

Gibreel based upon his conversation with Damain makes some suggestions to others on what group they should be in. Knowing most are ready to do what they can he does not focus upon it much, but goes over to Robillard who he thinks might be the most difficult to convince.

"Robillard. I have noticed you are staying close to your sister, and have since we found her. Since we do not have much time to waste, I will be straitforward and say I want you to be in the second wave." Gibreel coughs slightly.

"One of us has to be in the second group, and the other needs to protect the injured if they are needed. Given your reputation, I doubt you have the spells in place to protect such a large group of injured people. I have a spell ready that should buy the last group a round or two from any spells that might attack them all at once. Given how hurt they are, I think it is neccasary or they won't even be able to attack before a fireball brings them all down. Not to mention, if they are attacked while the other groups are inside by a third force, I don't think you are capable of holding off the attack."

Liriel remains by Gibreel's side, but gives an odd glare in the direction of Damian's voice as he mentions the amulet within the hearing of everyone in the chamber, and possibly beyond.  Her hand raises from her side as if to grasp something, but another odd look passes over her face and she consciously puts it back down, glancing about somewhat to see if anyone noticed.

Robillard's eyes dart to Liriel for a moment, as he was looking right next to her at Gibreel and her sudden movement caught his attention.  He doesn't appear to give her actions much thought as he almost immediately returns to looking at the goblin.

While not particularly arrogant, he still has some amount of pride.  "I would be perfectly capable if I hadn't had to fight tooth and nail to get this far for so long."

He closes his eyes and tilts his head down to towards the floor, tapping his foot for a few moments.  "Yes fine.  I've always been more offensive than anything else, and you've got a reputation as something of an abjurer."  He looks back up at Gibreel   "How well she's protected is more important than who's protecting her and you're better suited to that."

"I'll go second.  I know we're in a hurry and can't talk forever, but consider adding her to your telepathic link instead of some one else.  There's a lot she should be able to contribute but that would be the only way she can actually communicate with any of us."

*Brought back from his thoughts by Damians speech the orc puffs up a bit.  His demeanor obviously bolstered by the defiant and honest words spoken by the man he has only just met.  Looking around for what may be the last time he tries to burn the face of every member of this party into his mind.  Pride wells up in the orc at the unified front the whole of Kyranath has put forth to deal with this most vile of foes.  He forces himself to straighten up regardless of his wounds and speaks...*

"Damian, I am not as injured as some and not as skilled as others.  I will do as you suggest and will give my all to see this thing through.  If I am not to survive this day I would like you all to know how proud I am to be counted among you."

Gibreel listens as a little bit of fustration shows through in Robillard, who becomes offended at his statement concerning the ability to protect the others. Thinking it is already a stressful situation Gibreel thinks little of it but responds.

"I was not suggesting any other reason." Gibreel says before turning to Damian.

"I am going to connect Robillard as the mage going in the second group, yourself, myself and Lasa as she has no other way to talk and might have useful information." Gibreel says before letting all gather near Lasa. Casting his spell Gibreel connects people's minds.

Thinking he says only in his mind . o 0 (You can direct your thoughts to the group, or to single people. It does not take much concentration.)
