Proposal: Sule given admin authority/capability

Suleidan will create a Kyranath site on A-terra. He will be given Admin capabilities/authorities as described in the DM constitution.

This will allow him to create and maintain a static site devoted to Kyranath and more specifically, Thardferr.

This was posted here for public discussion because some people felt a vote could not be made until public discussion has occured.

There will be a one week period; if there is no serious objections or discussion, then a vote will be called in one week on November 4th.

*looks down at other threads* God forbid that only one week is allowed for discussion! What if someone six months from now wanted to participate but couldn't because they were away? Well I guess then we could just have it brought up again and rewritten so they can put in their 2cp.

I am getting off task. Sounds great if the Admin was allowed to make a site for Thard, err Kyranath.

The main reason we have had little recruitement and such is becasue we don't have a main site that is worth a sh--.

At least two DMs have ben working on a new site with all the info we need to run this world using mainly these and other boards. If one of them feels they can finlay have their site advertised then I think it would be helpful in recruitment.

A working character generator also is a help and soemthig explaing how to get in and playing as soon as possible. Recruitment of DMs woud be a good thing though we tend to get flaky ones when we cast the net too wide.

But I think a well organized and informative home site would be the most important thing.

The www.kyranath.com has most of the stuff that's on the old boards and it has a functioning character generator. It wouldn't be hard to put a link to it on the information board. But that's only part of what is needed. That site needs more work and some of the links are dead. The biggest thing I see missing on that site is the history of the world.

I think it's Angel who is working on it but I'm not sure if he's the only one.

I am one that is 'for' a centralized location for data...

I am capable and wanting of having the static website on a-terra however I have been waiting on someone to ask me to do it.

I recently have asked Gralbor if he minded If I started bringing over alot of information from his glyphnet, and got a soft affirmative...

However the only reason I have not gone and done it on my own, is that I wanted backing from those with authority first. First, so that it would be official,... Second to know that it was the intent of those involved to leave the thardferr.com address for good. And finally, to know that any work I put into it for the static side would not be in vain.

I already have a working character generator on a-terra, (in a test development area), and had been thinking of ways to link it to the a-terra forums, which I do believe it is definately possible.

Please let me know what you think..

I think it's about time we made a one stop shopping for our community. And since a-terra already has so much of the information already I think it just makes sense to let Sule finish the job.

THe DMs have already voted to have Sule as the Admin of the A-terra site. These boards hold any sensitive info that the main site would and so I think the vote would hold if this domain also became the main site.

Ihave no problem wtih this but would prefer the Kyranath domain to be the main site as this will include any other continents, etc that are part of this shared world.

But given thta Angel hasn't had the time to complete this site and made it ready for us to move to it (still using these boards) I thkn Having Sule create a Thardferr continent site on A-terra is a good idea as long as he is vonunteering.

I propose the TC vote to do this and if they want it then the DMs will vote to accept it and make Sule the Site Admin.

I am fine with Sule doing all the necessary work to gather every scattered bit of information and material pertiaining to a comprehensive website for this world.  I have tried several times to get information from people, and it just seems that no one really passes info along unless I badger badger badger badger badger badger (mushroom mushroom) them.

I'l give you what info I have also or help you in anywayI can short of making the site.

If it is posible to let a person update the info they give you thorugh edits, ect.. that would be fine as much of what I have is not complete.

youmight also get ahold of Colgere to get what city info he may have already done on the city csite he had beenworling on.

Sule is already the Admin for A-terra, yes.

Gralbor is the DM Site Admin.

Personally, I'd prefer to see one site, one set of official boards, and an active Site Admin.

I'm not sure if that means you are for Dsule creating the site or not, D.

Gral has been too busy in RL and other projects, has had some internet connectoin problems and maybe a bit disinterested in Thardferr over all to be very active.

Sule does at least a moderately good job of admining these boards (I have no complaints but I've heard some form others) and is volunteering in making a site on this same server using Grals previous work to date so we have a site and boards in one place.

So would you be for it or agasint it. As DMs we jsut have to allow him to deal with possible areas that might have sensitive info for a PC. We have already allowed this in his creating the DM boards here. So I see no problems. I believe he can create an areafor the DMs as here and let the DMs then upload or post things toit without his needing to ever see it. It is a matter of trust but we are already giving him that trust, now.

I would like to see a single site with all the informatoin needed to make it easy for PC and DMs to start playing in Thardferr once again. If none of the DMs that are running groups are ever able to do this, and I think there has been at least three attempts, then lets let a PC who wants to give it a try do it.

To start we can ask him to create the site dealing with all the public access material and if it turns out as we need, then we can worry about more priveledged information.

How does that sound? Does anyone have a problem with allowing Sule to create a public face for this setting?

As far as i figure, he already has the Admin title, i don't see what this changes besides he will make a site. The only permission he needed was Gralbor's and he has it.

Sule seems to want some kind of offical authorizatoin. I would give it if I had the authority. I believe though since Gral has given it and I agree that is two of three DMC. If Feff also agrees thenit is a done deal. If two of the TC agree it is a done deal.

Not sure anyu more discussion is needed unless someone has a problem with it.

The DM body isn't talking about it. Dalan may have soem reservations, If he says it is alright then again it is a done deal.

Sule, I'd ssy go ahead and do it. I don't think you ouwld be wasting your time.
