What about the idea of...

A recruiting and Thardferr-visible campaign and committee, to advertise Thardferr in a variety of ways all over the internet to attract new players and DMs.

I know that there are some sites which list games/shared worlds, etc. -- is it possible we could work to get a listing on such places?

I think it might help bring more people into Thardferr if we put our name out there.

Need volunteers to find sites related to AD&D and see if we can get a banner on there.  Or, I know there are some sites which serve as places where people post about campaigns, games, etc.  If we can find those places and make posts there recruiting as a community for new members.

Thardferr.com maybe, but not a-terra.  Plus, I think many of the old ones are dead and there are tons of new ones.

If we have an official committee, then perhaps things will get done and people won't assume "Oh another person will handle this."

I'd also like to see if we can get Sules permission to sign up the site on these things.

I would like to have a committee, with a chairperson, organized to deal with trying to recruit more people to Thardferr.

If you really want to be visible, try creating rooms on OpenDEV II or DEV III.   The point is not to make the gaming community on OpenRPG come to you, but to make yourself available to the majority of them.

I propose we abolish any official committee and just tell everyone to start acting nice! :)    That goes for the Chaoslords too. :)

I don't think a greeting committee is really something that we need. If we want to see growth in Thardferr, we are all going to need to act a bit more civil and friendly around here. Not pointing fingers (since I'm guilty as well) but if we would all be friendlier and present a nicer atmosphere, I think it would help in attracting people just by itself.

But everyone should be the welcoming crew, we shouldn't make certain people have to do it all the time, since we all should.

Gee alright, I'll bite.

I think there is one resource we haven't tapped:  other message boards.  There are hundreds of AD&D mesage boards out there, and perhaps all we need to do is post a link...

ARGH!!!  I take -great- offense at that baseless accusation, Feff!!  Just because you have that tagline doesn't mean that you're better than me!!

I shall destroy you with my superior signature banner!!

((btw, for those thinking I'm being a quack, this was in fun Wink ))
