So yea I've been gone for awhile and I'm out of the loop.

That said, someone want to tell me why no one is using the Thardferr site boards?  Are they broke?  If they are broke has shadowtech said anythign about them?

Yes they are frozen.  ST has fixed the strategy side but not bother to do anything about the add side.  As such many of us decided to back up everything we could from that site to here or on DM Gralbors site.

As far as ST giving word as to when or what they are going to do we are still awaiting official word.  I believe the DM's have been in contact with them but nothing definate or "official" has come to light as yet.

ST has declared that they will get around to the ADD side "when they have time and feel like it".  With this in mind, we have decided to officially move ALL DM activity to this board.

With this in mind, it has been suggested that an official vote be taken to determine the official boards for the players (as the DMs are already decided).  I cannot table this concept, but if a player so wishes to, then that might make things a bit more within reason.

Hi new to these forums.  Been around thardferr for a while and got a link to some other thardferr related forum today and it said to come here instead of using the ad%d boards.  I asked in the irc channel about the boards being down and they didn't seem to even know they were down and said that they were going to see about fixing the issues.  I hope it gets fixed it is much easier for me to just use the ad%d side since I am already over there for the strategy part.

Funny, we've informed them time and time again that it's broken and not posting.  Guess one again it takes being on their strategy side to be heard at all.

Because of issues with ST. I will likely not be using their boards when and if they do fix them. It would be a good idea to continue coming here for upto date and more Thardferr RPG information as I think others think on the same lines as I do.

I know that Endel mentioned a lot of information was lost on the DM side of the boards there.  I wonder if that will be recovered... sure would be nice, I know he has been trying to find information on a lot of the Magmaville things.

There is no DM info lost, currently. At least, none that has been available since August 03. The old boards can still be viewed (or at least I can).

I'm sorry Gralbor but I feel you are being a bit rude, and I have noticed that being a pattern with other posts on these boards as well in my searching.  I do so hope the rest of your council isn't that way.  I had never been in their irc room before nor did I tell them I was a strategy player, I simply went in and asked who I needed to talk to about problems with the AD%D side of the game and was responded to.

I guess i'll not waste my time further being here as I cannot stand the negativity.  I do hope they get the forums working and I guess since you guys don't seem to want any further part in thardferr then that i hope they find new people to run that side.

The negativity is not towards you, it is against Shadowtech. We have had many, many, MANY reasons to be negative about any interactions concerning them.

The negativity may not be directed at myself in general but it gives the impression of an unfriendly environment.  The strategy side has negativity towards the game owners as well.  I also was told to come here to be part of thardferrs ad%d side, of which I am getting the picture you are not going back.  So I guess i'll wait it out and see what happens with the ad%d side and see if they get new dm's and such to run it.

Shadowtech owns thardferr, or owns as much of thardferr as Abakar did (which was more rights of usage then anything). Thardferr itself is what it is, the community of people playing 2nd edition D&D. We are likely sticking with these forums, because ST has on a number of occasions told us that the D&D side of things was a low priority. We have no desire to use those forums, and constantly have to switch to a new set every time something breaks down while we wait for ST to fix it, when we have have next to no troubles with these (as they are admined by a member of the Thardferr community). Constantly switching between the two would not be conductive for the community, as I'm sure you can understand.

Also, these forums have allot more functionality then the others. DMs can have their own group boards here, different forums can have different moderators (which can be done allot quicker and more easily then on the others). And people can view the basic forums here without registering, which is another plus.

If you have gotten the impression of an overall negative environ from these boards, I sincerely appologize on behalf of my fellow Thardferrians. I would ask that you give us another chance, as we are actually a rather nice bunch Smiley Although it is, of course, your choice.
