Scions of Edilar Side-Session, Part I
DM:  PCDM Scionist, DM Feff officiating

Location:  Coopersville Forge, initially, traveled to a day from Magmaville

Short version: Group gathers together and hurries out of Coopersville without
Fiona and Drenth, fearing what a delay might mean to Lord Thrakkendale's health.  The horses tire out about a day from Magmaville, and the group isforced
to camp in the Saerhud forest.  The group is then attacked by a stone giant and a group of gnolls.

Long version: Fiona and Drenth left to go to the Order of the Sword.  Lalina and A'alja talk briefly as they exit the Scions of Edilar building.  They are immediately approached by a beautiful human woman named Shasara and her male halfling companion named Cherris.  The four agree on the urgency of their mission and immediately go to getting horses for transportation.  While they briskly walk, they notice a handsome man dressed in shining armor.  He was refitting his boot and looked towards the group and hailed them.  Lalina stopped briefly to speak to him while the rest of the group continued on their way.  Hewas a paladin of Hesneen named Ron and was intending to join the mission to save Thrakkendale.  Lalina quickly led the paladin to the rest of the group.  Ron and Lalina mounted horses while the other three made their way into a wagon driven by Shasara.
The group drove its horses hard, hoping to reach Magmaville and refresh the horses.  However, about a day's ride away, the group found their horses to be lathered and fading and could take no more.  Against their wishes, they were forced to spend a night in the forest.  They moved off the road a bit and set up a meager camp as to not attract attention.
Despite this precaution, the group soon found a boulder rolling towards them, which killed the wagon's horses.  As they tried to find where it was coming from, another boulder fell and destroyed their wagon.  Then six gnolls began to rush the group and Ron lets an arrow fly, hitting one of the gnolls.  On the second arrow, the string of his bow snaps.
Lalina, Cherris and A'alja quickly intoned spells.  Four of the gnolls were
held by their magics and one fell, sleeping.  That left only one charging
gnoll.  Ron moves to intercept it but failed with his sword strike.  Another
boulder is sent towards the group, and hits Ron hard, but his helmet saves him from the deadliest portion of the blow.  Distracted by the boulder, Ron finds the gnoll's axe connect with him.  Shasara and Cherris seek out the source of the boulders.  A'alja heals Ron as Lalina goes looking for the giant as well.  Cherris finds the giant and uses a light spell to blind him; this reveals the location of the giant to all.  Being blind, the giant is forced to give up hurling boulders and bring out his club.  A'alja cast a spell and forced the gnoll to the ground.  Shasara then danced around the giant, always striking at its backside with her sword.  Ron readied his horse as the healers healed him.  Ron then charged the giant with his lance.  The gnoll then wakes up and stalks A'alja but the gnoll's attempt is stopped when Lalina casts a spell to hold it like his comrades.  Cherris prepares a magical snare for the giant, and then tries to lure him into it.  Ron retreats, is healed by Lalina, then charges the giant again.  Shasara continues her assault to the giant but then is eventually beaten into a coma.  Lalina rushes to woman and completely healing her, even though the effort seems to drain Lalina.  The group continues their assault on the giant, even as Cherris tries to get the giant to walk into his snare trap.
 Arrows begin appearing out of the trees and firing at the giant.  
Apparently, some elven rangers had heard the commotion and had come to aid thegroup.  A gnoll corners A'alja and Shasara and Lalina attempt to stop it. Shasara's blade goes wild, however, and accidently hits A'alja.  The gnoll manages to hit A'alja with his axe as well, which sends the elf to the floor.  The elven rangers quickly fell the gnoll and Lalina restores A'alja to consciousness.  Eventually, the group manages to slay the giant.  The held gnolls are tied up and taken back to Magmaville.

Scions of Edilar Side-Session Part II
DM: PCDM Scionist, DM Feff officiating

Location:  near Magmaville, initially, traveled to Lord Thrakkendale's manor just past Navelorn

Short version:  Group refreshes at Magmaville and then rushes towards Lord Thrakkendale's manor.  Group combats the enemies trying to kill the elven lord and eventually manage to get him out of the burning manor.  However, the assassins poisoned him and the heroes efforts were for naught.

Long version:  After the battle with the giant, the group discusses what to
do with the gnolls.  The elven rangers have a mixed reaction to the sight of A'alja and A'alja pleads for something to cover herself with but no one has a cloak for her.  Fiona and Drenth, riding their horses hard, approach the group and join in with them as they rush towards Magmaville.  There, they gain new horses and hurry off towards Navelorn.  They barely see Navelorn as they rush to Lord Thrakkendale's manor.  As they are on the road, they notice some elves running about. After a brief discussion, Cherris, Ron and Fiona go to investigate while the rest of the group continues towards the manor.  Cherris, Ron and
Fiona find themselves in a battle with elves.  After they have defeated some of the elves, a mighty elven warrior who seems to have defeated many enemies yells at them to go the manor because these elves are keeping him from protection the elven lord.  The three of them then rush forward, hoping to get the manor.
Meanwhile, the rest of the group travels onward toward the manor and they smell smoke.  They speed up their horses at the smell of smoke and the sight of fire.  A'alja leads the others inside, saying she knows the location of the lord.  Drenth and Lalina follow her.  Shasara begins to climb the wall of the manor, looking for the lord.  When they reach the third floor, Drenth, Lalina and A'alja find a a mountain of a man, clad in black ridged armor he stands before a well-dressed elf, the elf whimpering before him, trying to curl into a ball from the terrible sight of the man.  The man pulls out two savage looking sickles and turns towards the group.  A'alja runs from the man towards the window.  Drenth engages him, but the man's sickles slice up the holy warrior pretty
well.  Drenth drops his long sword but connects with his shorter blade.  
Shasara attacks the man from behind while Lalina intones a holy spell.
Shasara's blade sinks into the man but Lalina's spell proves ineffective against him.  Then, Ron, Fiona and Cherris finally reach the top of the manor and join in the fight.  Fiona is overzealous and manages to drop her precious warhammer, which is soon followed by her sword. Drenth retreats as he is severely cut up by the warrior.  Lalina weakens as she completely restores him, mending his wounds.  Meanwhile, A'alja slowly sneaks towards the cowering elven lord and tries to convince him to flee with her.  Ron continues to engage the man as Cherris begins chanting.  The man falls to the same fate as Fiona and drops one of his
sickles.  The battle continues, until it is stopped when someone appears out of nowhere and puts a knife to the lord's neck.  She demands that all fighting stop.  The group negotiates her and the man with the sickle's safe departure, if they release the lord at the door.  They do so, the group following closely.  Before they leave, the assassins inform the group that the contract for the elven lord's death was made by a noble in Coopersville Forge, possibly Lord Patros.  Lalina and A'alja quickly examine the elven lord but find no wounds and hurry him out as the building is collapsing.  The two assassins from earlier are completely gone.  As the building collapses, so too does Lord Thrakkendale.  A'alja and Lalina rush to heal him, but it is no avail - the poisons
inside him had already killed him.

Session #1: "The Search for Balance"

Short Version:
Liriel arrives in Coopersville Forge--and meets with Gibreel Deeowen at the Imperial Mage Headquarters.

Long Version:
Liriel arrives in Coopersville Forge, somewhat confused and quite without the knowledge of her wereabouts after her strange encounter and apparent magical transportation. Informed of her location by a somewhat jumpy guard, she peacebinds her weapons at the gate as ordered--shortly after the guard explains how it is done to the woman who normally spends her time in Edilar. Getting direction quickly she heads on her way towards the Imperial Mage Guildhall. After working her way through a few guards, she convinces the IMG of what her mission is and is admitted inside the inner hall to see Gibreel. The pair speak of Liriel's mission, reviewing what happened--something dependent heavily upon the notes Liriel wisely took during her travels. After catching up Gibreel invites Liriel to use his room, but suggests they shop since he does not keep much food around. Going to a local shop Gibreel enjoys, Liriel and the goblin buy more than a few are items including some Ice Berries. Gibreel surprises the Halfling owner by knowing a great deal about the berries, and strikes a deal. Gibreel will deliver the already rare berries to the Halfling, that have become more rare with the war and the two will share the profits. After completing his shopping Gibreel and Liriel return to the Imperial Mage Guild and talk as Gibreel works on reports to send concerning her recent events. The pair also talk of two others, Damian and Sillibys, and prepare messages to send them concerning Liriel's return.

Campaign: The No Names
Session: #9 – "The Aftermath of the Battle"
DM: PCDM Scionist (DM Feff)

Date: Thardferr 4.11.734 - Earth 11.8.2004
Region: Tuth
Location: South of Windtown, on the edge of the Thorn Woods, then Windtown

Players Present: Lalina, Reinlad, Daigotsu
NPC: Karl (Lalina's brother), The Bandits, Ordermen, Tilden Brumblefoot

XP: 85/level per hour - plus individual bonuses

Session Length: 4.5 hours.

Short Summary:
The group searches and secures the bandits, uncovering a variety of items and information.   They begin to head back to Windtown and are attacked by a dozen dire wolves which they defeat.  They make it across to Windtown, make a report to the Order garrison and meet up with a gnome from the Scions.

Long Summary:
Karl secures the remaining bandits and disarms them as Lalina searches both dead and alive ones for items of note.  Lalina asks Reinlad to question the bandits about whether there are more in the woods.  Reinlad deters saying he cannot tell if they will be lying or not and Lalina, frustrated, decides to do it herself.  She moves over to one of the fighters in the outfit and begins to question him.  Reinlad stands near and serves to antagonize the bandit.  Lalina eventually orders him to go away as she smiles at the bandit and begins to question him nicely.  When he refuses to answer, she casts a spell that charms him and he quickly begins to explain all.  He says they are already dead because they failed to meet their leader, called Shade, at the rendevous spot.  The man seemed in fear of something but Lalina could never get him to answer anything other than "the things."  Regardless, she felt it was important they get back to the city, as she and her companions could likely not survive another major encounter.

Just as the group finishes getting things together to leave, they begin to hear howling.  Dire wolves are approaching and encircling the group.  Lalina orders the ordermen to get the prisoners to the river and onto the raft while the rest of the group tries to slow the advance of the wolves and shield the prisoners from their wrath.  As the ordermen lead the prisoners as directed, Lalina and Reinlad both begin casting.  Daigotsu and Karl both stand protectively infront of Lalina and the spells complete.  The very land aids the group as Lalina's spell completes; trees, vines, grass, etc. wrap and entangle four of the dozen wolves.  Reinlad completes his prayer spell, bolstering his companions and weakening the wolves.  Despite this, the pack charges on, past Lalina and her followers, heading straight towards the prisoners.  This allows Karl, Daigotsu, Reinlad and Lalina to strike out at the wolves as they run past them.  Their combined attacks manage to kill the lead wolf and another wolf.

Despite this, the bloodhungry wolves continue to attack the prisoners and manage to fell one of the prisoners even as the Ordermen manage to get some of the prisoners onto the raft.  Lalina asks the others to defend the prisoners.  Daigotsu, Lalina and Karl continue to strike at the wolves from the rear and flank as Reinlad moves in to try and protect the prisoners.  Daigotsu manages to kill another wolf as Karl and Lalina assault another one, finally defeating it.  Daigotsu kills another wolf as Reinlad finally fells one.  The remaining wolves flee as Lalina immediately sees to the fallen female prisoner and manages to revive her.  Lalina then sends Reinlad, the ordermen and most of the prisoners on the raft with instructions for Reinlad to lead the prisoners back to the garrison and make a report while one of the ordermen brings the raft back over to get the rest of the group.  Reinlad agrees and the group splits and such.

Reinlad and the ordermen make their way safely to the garrison in Windtown.  While on the raft, Reinlad does what he can to help stabilize and heal the prisoners.  Meanwhile, Karl, Lalina, Daigotsu and the two diadrian clergy prisoners wait nervously, wondering if they will be further attacked.  Daigotsu seems uncomfortable in the darkness and so Lalina uses a light stone she had received from the Kreaon church to illuminate the area around them.  Eventually the raft returns and the remaining group and prisoners board it and make their way back to the city as well.

While making his report, Reinlad is introduced to Tilden Brumblefoot, a gnome in the Scions of Edilar.  He makes it known that Master Lackter has taken an interest in this matter.  Reinlad leads the gnome and a few ordermen back towards the road and meets up with Lalina and crew.  The ordermen take the remaining prisoners back to the garrison as Lalina recognizes Tilden and the group talks as they make their way back to Windtown.  Lalina agrees to speak to Master Lackter the following morning and the gnome heads off home as the rest of the group makes their way back to the city.

Session Low Points: Ugh, more battle to a very battle-weary group!

Campaign: The No Names
Session: #10 – "On the Streets At Night"
DM: PCDM Scionist (DM Feff)

Players Present: Lalina, Reinlad, Daigotsu
NPC:  Boy, Thieves, Mute Girl and her father

XP: 85/level per hour - plus individual bonuses

Session Length: 4.5 hours.

Short Summary:
The group runs into some trouble as they try to make their way home late at night in the city.

Long Summary:

As the group makes their way into the city, Daigotsu asks where he can sleep.  Lalina offers to put him up at her family's residence where she has put up Reinlad.  Reinlad and Daigotsu begin a discussion of Mahacto, as Daigotsu asks where his holy places are in Thardferr.  The group also decides to see what has been reported missing at the Order garrison and return what items were reported.  The clumsy Reinlad falls down on more than one occasion and in one fall, manages to bring Lalina down with him.

After they get up, Reinlad hears something and notices a shadowy figure.  Lalina feels lighter after she gets up and notices that she has been robbed!  The three quickly give pursuit and begin to chase down the figure through the streets.  Reinlad attempts to take another avenue and cut the figure off, but he gets lost and then tries to find his way back.  Daigotsu catches up with the figure, who turns out to be just a young boy.  Daigotsu holds him and then notices four men who seem bent on taking the boy, and his stolen goods back.  Lalina catches up as well as the men begin to encircle her and Daigotsu.  A combat ensues in which Lalina and Daigotsu one-by-one knock out the four men despite some of them grappling Lalina and one attempting to run away.  Lalina disarms the thieves and takes any items they have and then brings them to the local guard for imprisonment.  Meanwhile, she talks to the boy, named Gavin. learning he is an orphan and was pressed into service to these men.  She agrees to take him back to her residence and see if there is something more she can do for him.

Meanwhile, Reinlad hears a commotion and assumes it to be the rest of his group.  Instead, he finds a man cornering a young girl.  He stops the man and tries to ascertain the truth of the situation.  The man claims the girl, who is his daughter, has stolen his money from him but it appears he could be intoxicated.  When Reinlad questions the girl he discovers she is both very afraid of the man and is a mute.  He then brings her away from the man and takes out a piece of paper, learning more about her through writing.  He suspects, and is correct, that the man is abusing the young girl and may even be the reason for her muteness.  He decides to take the girl back to her father and sort things out but discovers the man has disappeared.  Not wanting to send her back to him, he decides a different route.  He asks her if she'd like to meet the Duke and when she seems excited, he takes her with him as he looks for Lalina.  He finally finds Lalina and explains the situation of the girl, Rachel Blackwell, to Lalina.   She agrees with his action and the entire group finally makes their way back to Lalina's family residence without incident.

New Group

Campaign: The No Names
Session: #11 – "At Home"
DM: PCDM Scionist (DM Feff)

Date: Thardferr 4.12.734 - Earth 11.13.2004

Location: Windtown

Players Present: Lalina, Reinlad, Daigotsu
NPC:  Lalina's family and servants

XP: 85/level per hour - plus individual bonuses

Session Length: 4 hours.

Short Summary:
The group rests up the night and then meets with Lalina's father and brother the next day.

Long Summary:
The group finally makes it back to Lalina's residence, where Lalina's nursemaid takes the two children away and sees to their care.  Lalina, along with the nursemaid, talks to the two children before everyone goes to bed.  The rest of the group crashes for the night.  In the morning, Lalina spends a long time praying, replenshing her spells, as does Reinlad.  Eventually, the members of the group are called to breakfast, which they have with Lalina's father and brother.

Lalina greets her family warmly in the morning and introduces Daigotsu to her father.  She also talks about the progress of her temple and various other social programs she is designing for the city.  Reinlad asks about Gavin and Rachel and Lalina instantly looks to her father and tries to explain the situation.  He nods and calls the two younger individuals in, who are dressed in some of Lalina's and Karl's old clothing.  Lalina then explains the dire situations in which she found both of them and asks for her father's help.  Her father turns the question back and asks her what she thinks is best.  She indicates she thinks either the New Order of the Ages or her new church can take them in.  Her father agrees and says her old nursemaid will take care of them until they the new orphanage is completed.

Lalina compliments her father on his wisdom and generousity even as he says that both her and her brother's kindness to those less fortunate and to the animal world have helped him remember his obligation to the less fortunate.  Reinlad seems a little unhappy with the decision, thinking the girl should be allowed to decide for herself if she wants to go back to her father.  Lalina gives Reinlad a cold stare and explains that she had talked to both of them last night.  Regardless, the two children clearly want to stay with Lalina and her plans for them and Reinlad relents.  The group then sets off to visit Master Lackter of the Scions of Edilar.

Session: #12 – "Business in the City"

NPC:  Ordermen, Scions members, various people in the city

XP: 75/level per hour - plus individual bonuses

Session Length: 5 hours.

Short Summary:
Reinlad and Daigotsu head to the Order garrison to learn what has been reported stolen as Lalina visits and speaks with Master Lackter of the Scions of Edilar, learning more about Shade.  The group then takes care of a variety of business in Windtown, returning stolen property, gathering supplies, preparing to try and track down Shade.

Long Summary:
Reinlad and Daigotsu makes their way to the Order of the Sword garrison, where Reinlad makes a full report to his superiors about Shade and the bandits.  He gets a copy of the various items that have stolen and who reported the thefts.  Reinlad and Daigotsu go back to the Scions of Edilar guildhall, where they are served an excellent soup by

Meanwhile, Lalina meets with Master Lackter, learning that Shade is his apprentice-gone-bad.  Lackter offers any help he can give to find and bring Shade to justice.  He also agrees to identify the magical items that Lalina had retrieved from the bandits.  He tells her about scrolls that have his symbol on it, that Shade stole from him when he left.  Lalina tries to comfort him about it and thanks him for all his help.

Lalina exits the study with Lackter to see Reinlad and Daigotsu waiting for her.  Lalina begins to talk to Daigotsu about a variety of things, which Reinlad seems as somewhat trivial. Reinlad does provide Lalina with the list of what reported items stolen.  The Arbitrator seems to be getting frustrated with Lalina and she tries to talk to Reinlad and figure out what is the matter.  After a serious conversation about what to do next and agreeing on some things, Reinlad seems in better spirits.  Reinlad then softens and agrees to try to work better with Lalina, understanding they have different ways of doing things.  They agree to split up and take care of some things and then meet back up in the Scions guildhall, as the gnome Brumblefoot has agreed to make them dinner.

Reinlad and Daigotsu go back to the Order garrison to give the latest news about Shade and see if they garner some help for tracking the errant mage.  Lalina heads off, returning the items that were reported missing and also selling the weapons and armors of the bandits to local merchants.  After checking on the progess of her temple and then heading back home to pick up something, she heads back to the Scions of Edilar guildhall where she speaks with Lackter again and he explains what he learned about the items he indentified.

Reinlad and Daigotsu finally arrive at the guildhall and are happy to see Lalina and the fine meal that Brumblefoot prepared for them.  They begin to eat the meal as they tell about what they have been doing that day.  Reinlad almost chokes on a piece of bread and Lalina and Daigotsu help him cough up the offending starch.  After they eat, Lalina presents the two of them with gifts.  She gives both of them precious gems as well as gives Reinlad a magical longsword.  More importantly than either of those gifts, at least to her, Lalina presents both of them with beautiful cloaks embroidered with the holy symbol of Mahacto that she had been done herself.  The cloaks were of high-quality cloth and both men seem overwhelmed and impressed by all of Lalina's gifts to them.
