DM: Feff
Group: Hereos’ Reflections of Misfortune's Twisted Fate
IC Date: 7/10/735-7/24/735
RL Date: 10-18-05
PC's Present: Jereth, Lucas, Leon, Zee, Turgeiis, Robillard, Frazzle, Aidanis
NPC’s Present: Lasa
Location: Windtown to Riveringtown

XP: 70xp/lvl/hour
Length: 4 hours

Short Summary: The group decides to infiltrate Riveringtown and learn what goes on there.

Long Summary:  Having deposited their prisoners in Windtown, the group is once more rejoined by Aidanis and they hit the road and discuss what their plan of action will be.  After some traveling, they reach a bridge leading to Riveringtown and a road that goes toward the Icy Mountains; they decide to pursue the threat in Riveringtown first.  During the night, Robillard teleports Leon to speak with his grandfather about what went on in the city and what can be done with Turgeiis gem.
Leon returns from his trip with disturbing news from his grandfather, that Riveringtown has now become completely devoted to the worship of Ballog. He also alerts Turgeiis that his grandfather could forge the gem into his current blade. Only a week away from reaching the city, the heroes trudge along discussing their options, when Jereth is hit with inspiration. He believes he can infiltrate the city and pass as one of the ballogians. This idea does not sit too well with the others as they all know how unpredictable Jereth and the ballgians can be.
As they get closer to their destination, Leon receives word that it will take a week to forge the gem into Turg's blade without ruining the enchantments already put into it. They decided to travel slowly and wait for the blade to be made while observing the city from a distance. They soon find themselves upon a hill over looking the countryside of Riveringtown, much activity seems to be taking place although it appears what was destroyed a year ago was not being rebuilt or repaired and groups seeming to slaughter each other without a care.
After a week's time, Robillard and Leon return with Turgeiis new sword, as the big man wields his reformed blade, he stares at it oddly, noting a difference in it. As the day progress's, a notable silence comes over the city, making the companions uneasy. After much debate, they decide to send Leon to spy out the goings on while made magically invisible. Robillard cast his spells of invisibility and flight upon the blademan, while Turgeiis appears to be speaking silently to his blade. Leon disappears from everyone's sight except for Turg, then quickly moves silently along toward the city.
As they patiently wait for Leon's return, a new problem develops as Turg discovers he is unable to draw the blade from his sheath. After much experimentation and testing, they conclude that the enchantment is on Turgeiis himself and may have been placed on him by Celenia during his resurrection, in order to turn him away from his violent ways.
At the same moment, they realize that Jereth is missing and conclude that he has gone on his own into the city. Some time later, Leon returns with his report that the town is a beacon for chaos and all are gathered before a platform, including Jereth.  Four figures stood upon a platform, a thin man, an armored man possibly Lacedon, a black haired woman possibly Missy, and a brown haired girl.  Even the invisibility did not fully conceal Leon, causing demons to spring forth that he barely managed to escape.
A short while later, Jereth returns with the news that the gathered ballogians were there to witness Missy give birth.  This causes great unrest among them and a debate breaks out about whether the child is the spawn of a demon and if it should be abducted from the city.  More arguments ensue as they try to talk an agitated Leon who is dead set on entering the city to get the newly born babe.  Their words yield no results as his footsteps are heard walking off along with Jereth who decides to join him.  Those remaining fear for their companion's lives but know the odds are truly against them.

DM: Feff
Group: Hereos’ Reflections of Misfortune's Twisted Fate
IC Date:7/24/735
RL Date: 10-25-05
PC's Present: Jereth, Lucas, Leon, Zee, Turgeiis, Robillard, Frazzle, Aidanis
NPC’s Present: Lasa
Location: Outside of Riveringtown

XP: 60 xp/lvl/hour
Length: 3 hours

Short Summary: The group remains outside of Riveringtown, trying to decide what to do. Jereth and Leon both head back towards the city. Jereth gets back across while Leon has trouble trying to swim the river.

Long Summary:
Robillard stands at an inn, looking out the window. He pushes the small table over by the sill, so he can look out as he drinks his tea. Taking a few moments he casts a spell, and soon an illusory double is seated across the table, also drinking tea.

“So, how’s his foot then?” the newcomer asked.
“Fine, I think. Zee was trying to shoot Leon’s pant leg so he could pin him to the ground. Otherwise Leon would just wander into the town and get killed. Naturally I was going to try to web him instead.”
“Of course.”
“But, there was nothing to stick him to, so we tried Zee’s way. Ended up sticking him in the foot.”
“Which I of course know, as I asked how his foot was,” the double sips his tea.
“Obviously, you’d know for other reasons, not that you actually know anything.”
“Mmm.”

“Moving along,” the real Robillard shifts in his chair. “We caught up to him, tried to talk him out of it. Of course Leon would have no part of that. Said something about Zee ruining an expensive spell, went on and on about how he’d probably missed a chance to kidnap the child. Well, Leon likely wouldn’t kidnap the child.”
“No, that was our suggestion, he’d more likely kill it.”
“Mmm.”
“Well what could we do? We can’t just force him to stay, so we decided to let him go after arguing for a bit.”
“We could have forced him to stay. We don’t like to brag…”
“We do, if it’s subtle.”
“Yes, but we’re too polite to say so. We don’t like to brag but we certainly could stop him, one way or another.”
“Yes, but you know why we didn’t. We’re sick of it, and we can relate to the poor bastard. Robillard save the town, Robillard stop the moon, Robillard fight this, Robillard stop that, when’s the last time some one said, ‘Oh Robillard how can I make YOUR life easier for a change?’”
“Anything I could do to help?”
“Help me? No, I’m the illusionary one you’ll recall.”
“Ah, so you are.” Both chuckle.

“You know how it is though. I’m sick of it, but I’ve got too much of a conscience to stop helping all the helpless bastards.”
“Which is why a suicide mission is tempting?”
“Of course, you don’t have to worry about people anymore and you can fool yourself into thinking you’re dying nobly and not for selfish reasons.”
“Ahhh but we’re too smart to fool ourselves then aren’t we?”
“Mmm, more’s the pity. I said more or less the same thing to Leon myself, after the river.”
“The river?” one of the Robillards raises an eyebrow.

“Oh yes, he went off again, tried swimming to the place. The rest of us were up at the camp discussing possible strategies. Eventually we decided to just get as many armies as we can and come back.”
The other Robillard rolls his eyes. “Always the side-trips. Things used to be simpler, one problem, fix it directly by going from A to B. Do you realize how many missions we’re technically on now?”
“Too many,” he sips his tea. “Anyway, as we were planning Leon ran into some trouble with the river, and Jereth had disappered. No one was too worried about Jereth, poor bastards the only one who can safely infiltrate that place. He really fits in.”
“Yeah, good guy though, just insane,” he frowns. “We really shouldn’t allow him to just almost kill random people.”
“Well what can we do? Name some spells we have that won’t just kill him.”
“Mmm.”
“Anyway…. I seem to be saying that a lot, anyway…. we go over, we help a half drowned Leon, all lecture him and explain to him why he’s being stupid though to be honest I can relate, and head back to camp. That’s pretty much it.”
“Not very productive were we?”
“No.”
“Are we being purposefully unproductive because we fear facing certain larger, more personal issues?”
“Shut up,” Robillard waves his hand, dismissing his duplicate and going back to his tea.

DM: Feff
Group: Hereos’ Reflections of Misfortune's Twisted Fate
IC Date: 7/24/735-7/25/735
RL Date: 11-01-05
PC's Present: Jereth, Lucas, Leon, Zee, Turgeiis, Robillard, Frazzle, Aidanis
NPC’s Present: Lasa, Ballogian
Location: Outside Riveringtown

Experience: 45xp/lvl/hour

Length: 3.5 hours

Short Summary: Returning to a point further away from the city in order to determine what the group's next step would be; they are visited by a messanger from Riverington. With him comes some interesting news; although Missy and the man now identified as Snerri would be absent from the city; the group was hardly welcome to enter: Specifically naming Leon and Frazzle as cause for trouble. In addition, they learn that apparently the land had been bought from the king. Taking leave from the city of chaos, the group heads out on horseback with much discussion.

Long Summary:

Having retreated away from the city for the time being; and without Jereth for that matter; the group begins to talk politics and military; wondering just what kind of sizable force; and who's; it would take to end the Ballogian threat at Riveringtown. As time passes, various suggestions had been brought up by those still in discourse. The others begin to prepare for the night. As the sun begins to set on the group, a noise can be heard comming from below the hill that the party had retreated to. Investigation reveals it to be a simple man, neither armed or armored. With a call, he waves to the group and let's them know he has a message. After a quick query, he relays the following:

"It's from the Madame of the city and her man themselves. Ya'll must be pretty special to get a message from 'em. The lady, she says she's 'fraid she won't be in town for awhile, neither will the master, but that ya aren't welcome in town, especially if you bring a fellow named Leon or a fellow named Frazzle."

These words bring more questions; which the man happily answers. Within minutes the group had learned that the plot of land that Riveringtown was resting on had been purchased from the king of Lithar by a man whom Frazzle identified as Snerri; someone else who may have come back in time with him; and a mage to boot. In addition to what is learned, Jereth roughs the man up slightly before the group decides to just leave him be. After he leaves, there is some discussion as to who the Celenite who witnessed the birthing might have been; though accusations of it being Claudia are dimissed by those who saw her while infiltrating the town.

Deciding to leave for anywhere else right now, the group heads off in the dead of night. Finding a place some distance off, they finally break camp again and await the next morning. Thier talk is varied. From theology to philosophy between Leon and Lucas to the all important decision to go after the youth elixer before returning to Coopersville Forge.

Session high points: More questions! And following a new path
Session low points: Absent DM mid-game
Casualties: None
Treasure: None

Group: Heroes Reflections of Misfortunes Twisted Fate
Date: Nov 8th 2005
IC Date: 7/25/735-8/8/735
PC's Present: Turgeiis, Jereth, Frazzle, Lucas, Leon, Robillard, Zee, Aidanis
NPC's: Lasa
Location: Outside Riveringtown - Icy Mountains

Experience: 80xp/lvl/hour
Duration: 4 hours

Summary: The group makes there way north towards the Icy mountains where the so called fountain of youth rest at the northern most peak. Hopefully something involved the obelisk is along the way as well so the trip isn't a total waste. After a quick rest at downs the party heads towards Turgeiis village deep into the icy mountains in order to rest and have a safe place to leave there horses. Once there the group is welcome warmly as usual and finds out giants have been located once again in the area. While resting at the tavern Turgeiis younger brother Scyld returns from a hunting party that was seeking giants. Apparently the giants fled further north away from the group of warriors toward the party's destination. Leon, and Jereth suggested a little side work out by having a look for them on the way up there.

The next morning the rested and on foot party with Turgeiis in the lead head further up the mountain. After a few hours of walking the group is ambushed by giants, ogres, and a group of humans. After dodgeing boulders from the giants above, the group springs into action. Turgeiis, Leon, and Jereth rushed to meet the ogres head on. Zee engages the giants above. Robi, Frazzle, and Lasa begin throwing spells at the humans and the giants above. The ogres are dealt with swiftfully by the skilled warriors. Robi throws a wall of Ice between the group and the giants to prevent any more boulders from raining down. Once the ogres went down the human zealots never stood a chance against the skilled group. The ring leader human who stood by the giants during the assualt turned tail and ran with his giant lackies once the group downed the survivors. Most of them anyway the final zealot once wounded killed himself. After looting the bodies quickly the group decides its probably a trap but follows after the mystery man and his giants.

Group: Heroes' Reflections of Misfortunes' Twisted Fate
DM: Feff
IC Date: 8/9/735
Session Date: 11-22-2005
PC's present: Leon, Frazzle, Turgeiis, Lucas, Zee, Jereth
NPC's present: Robillard, Lasa, Aidanis, Cai
Location: Icy Mountains, cave

Experience: 60xp/lvl/hour
Length: 3 hours

Short Summary:
After their victory, the group decides to follow the giants into the mountains. Finding a dead giant and a trapped girl in a cave, the group continues further into the mountains.

Summary:
Deciding to track the giants after the fight, Turgeiis leads the group deeper into the mountains. Tracking the giants proves to be simplicity itself, and the group finds themselves standing before a large cave opening, large enough for even a giant to enter.
The group begins discussing the best course of approaching the cave, some wanting to use magic to enter undetected, others wish to use more mundane but still shady skills to investigate. As the discussion draws on, Jereth simply walks into the cave, being assailed only by darkness as he leaves the wild mountain wind. Following the fighter's lead, the others enter as well and soon they find a corpse of a mountain giant, the back of its enourmous skull bashed in. The giant looks to have been dead for a few hours, but occasionally movement can be seen coming from underneath the dead things bulk. Preparing for possible trouble, Lucas Jereth and Turgeiis, roll the behemoth over, and find a half passed out little girl in a divot in the cave floor.
The girl barely has a moment to gulp fresh air before a huge hand pulls her off the ground and holds her aloft, Turgeiis' grizzled face the first look she gets at her rescuers. After the others convince Turgeiis to set her down, the girl, who introduces herself as Cai, is almost buried again by the multitude of cloaks, blankets, and food offered to her. Cai accepts most of the gifts, as the others note her odd appearance: the white mummy-like bandages covering her body except her hands and face, her almond shaped eyes, the flower tattoo on her face, and her scarred ears. In their questioning, Zee and Lucas find out that Cai has little memory of her parents, can speak high elven and sythian, and thinks she might be an elf. The only real information she gives the group about the men and giants they'd been tracking is that the odd man in the armor had yellowish skin, a large flat nose and was incredibly domineering.
Finding less in the cave than they find out about the mystery girl, the group continues further into the mountains, towards a sky shattering peak to the north. Due to the conditions and the terrain, it takes a week to reach their destination. The group is left off trying to figure out how they were going to scale the titanic mountain.

Group: Heroes' Reflections of Misfortunes' Twisted Fate

Session Date: 11-29-2005

NPC's present: Lasa, Cai
Location: Icy Mountains, cave

Experience: 100xp/lvl/hour + mulitplier
Length:4 hours

Short Summary:
The group makes their way to the top of the mountain. At the base they find the pool of youth granting water they had hoped for as well as another obelisk, but are attacked by elementals and a Minotaur a crazy dwarf and mage companion.

Summary:
Making their way up the summit they find a small alcove and take the time to investigate it and take some much needed shelter from the mountain. After a while of rest the group notices Cai is missing, Zee finds her tracks and points them out going up to the very top of the mountain, only a 30 minute climb from their current position, as well as Jereth having gone up there as well. Turgeiis gets all bent out of shape and strongly suggests the group head on out immediately as he suspects Cai is giving them away. Just as they begin to head up to the top of the mountain Cai and Jereth both return. They relay that there is nothing at the top of the mountain but a large pool of water and some trees. The group having rested enough by that point and ready to head on out to the top, go on and do so. When they reach the top of the mountain they find it exactly as had been described. After a brief discussion about what to do about the pool and its water Turgeiis takes a small portion of it and corks it in a wine skin, while Leon drinks some straight out of the pool. After some rumbling two very large earth elementals spring forth and begin a relentless assault on Leon, while two air elementals do the same to Turgeiis. After battling with the Elementals for awhile, who attack only Leon and Turgeiis, and with 2 of them dissipated a strange bull creature a crazy dwarf, and a mage appear. The dwarf is thrown and whales on Zee and spitting all over the poor elf. Robillard then creates a wall of ice between the group and the minotaur, but just after Jereth gets close enough to the minotaur to be on the other side of the wall. After a bit a very long lasting bolt of chain lightning shoots over the wall and burns most of the group, knocking Zee unconscious. Turgeiis finishes off the last of the elementals, and then after the lightning subsides Leon rushes over to the dwarf laying on the ko’d elf and tears into him, causing both the dwarves and the minotaur to flee. Tthe dwarf jumps off the side of the mountain, while the mage and the minotaur simply disappeared. Lucas uses his paladin abilities and brings Zee back to consciousness while Leon goes back to the pool, submerges his head and takes several very large drinks.

Session High Points: Surviving… for now
Session Low Points: Getting beat down
Casualties: Two earth elementals, two air elementals, 1 black obelisk, some pride
Treasure: Finding the fountain of youth

Group: Heroe's Reflections of Misfortune's Twisted Fate
DM: Feff
IC Date: 8/9/735-8/10/735
Session Date: Dec 27, 2005
PC's Present: Leon, Lucas, Robillard, Turgeiis, Zee, Frazzle, Jereth
NPC's: Cai, Lasa
Location(s ): Icy Mts., Coopersville Forge

Experience: 70xp/lvl/hour
Length: 3.5 hours

Summary:
After their battle with a group of elementals apparently summoned by approaching the Fountain of Youth, and then a sudden appearance of a flying dwarf, a bull headed monster, and a electrical attack, the heroes are wounded but alive. As they take stock of the situation, Leon decides to swipe another drink from the Fountain, this time opting to forgo the use of his hands and drink straight from the pool.

Upon doing this the earth begins to shudder and another 8 earthen elementals erupt from the ground around the Blademaster. The wizards try to analyze the situation as Leon makes a run for Lasa's protecting spell. Meanwhile Lucas and Jereth try to divert the elementals' attention as the monsters chase Leon almost single-mindedly. Lucas' sword bounces off the rocky hide of an elemental and out of his hand, and Jereth opens a large furrow in the backside of another monster to little effect. With their size, the elementals manage to make Leon's run for safety a veritable gauntlet of huge stone hands, but the Blademaster's training and a good deal of luck see him through with only one stinging hit taken.

As Leon reaches safety, Frazzle steps out of Lasa's protections and triggers a spell, sending several bolts of energy into one of the elementals, giving Lucas enough time to dodge his way to the fallen Holy Sun Shardsword. Zee follows Frazzle's example and also steps out, hurling a large ball of brilliant energy in the midst of the clustered elementals, engulfing them in light and energy though the behemoths are unfazed. Unfortunately with Leon out of their reach, the elementals turn and attack the exposed humans, Frazzle, Robillard, Jereth, and Turgeiis. Frazzle is punished into unconsciousness, while Robillard manages to inact a spell of flight and climbs for altitude after the vicious assault. Turgeiis and Jereth are pummeled by the monsters, their plate armor warping under the blows and blasting the air from their lungs but they are not deterred as they both hack and slash, leaving their marks on different monsters.

Seeing Frazzle crumble under the attack, Leon exits Lasa's protections, removing an amulet from around his neck and handing it to Zee asking that it and his swords be taken to his grandfather, then moves to taunt the elementals away from the others. Lucas opens a huge gash in one of the elementals, sunlight glistening off his blade. Robillard provides cover in the form of a magic missle swarm, as Lasa moves over to check on the downed Frazzle. Zee has no time to ask Leon any questions regarding the pendant as he fires two arrows deep into the earthen hide of an elemental. Turgeiis and Jereth, standing nearly back to back, again putting their swords to work with Jereth bringing down one of the two elementals attacking him, its magic undone. But as Jereth smote his enemy's ruin upon the mountain, the wounds inflicted in three consecutive battles catch up to him, and so he digs his swordtip into the stone and kneels, his head resting against the crossguard. The elementals take no note of the loss of one of their numbers as they continue their attacks, harming Turgeiis and Leon, Lucas' armor allows him to shrug off the blows. Feeling the internal damage from his wounds Leon says to his companions, "I'm sorry... All of you..return to the safety of Lasa's spell.... I cant survive this. But I dont want anyone to die for me. Or anyone to rob me of bringing down these monsters with me when I leave...", and sets himself for one last charge.

From his airborne vantage, Robillard explodes a fireball among the heads of the tall elementals. Lucas and Zee attack, the paladin's sword unable to slip past the tough skin, and the elf's arrows continuing to sprout from the elementals. Leon bravely steps up to meet his almost guarranteed demise, striking quickly against one of his enemies. Mechanical in their actions, the guardians attack again. Lucas and Turgeiis both are wounded from the fists, Turgeiis too falling to the stone unconscious, but Leon suffers the most gruesomely, as four elementals converge on him and smash him almost past the point of recognition. Their duty fulfilled the elementals return to the earth, leaving the group alone on the mountain top.

With Frazzle and Turgeiis in bad shape, and Leon almost without shape, the others treat the wounded as best they can, with Zee casting some healing blessing on Frazzle, stabalizing him and Lasa also aiding in treating Turgeiis and Frazzle. Lucas mourns the death of Leon, another of his longtime friend gone, then collecting the Blademaster's swords and finding the unfortunately crushed Ernstein in Leon's pack. Robillard and Lasa prepare spells to magically transport them to a safe haven, and as the others prepare the wounded and dead for transport, they belatedly find that Jereth too had expired.

The spells of transport bring the party to Coopersville Forge and to a temple of Celenia, where Leon and Jereth's bodies are laid out in a room, while the clerics work hard to bring the others back to good health. Shortly afterwards, Frazzle and Turgeiis awaken, still wracked with pain and sore bodies from their ordeals much like the others. As the others explain any of the recent events that had been missed by concussions, Cai gives Robillard a note, stating she found it in her pocket just after the crazed dwarf and his group had vanished. Expecting bad news, Robillard is puzzled by the message, it reads:
"You have twice gotten in our way, but you will not stop us from halting the fall of the moon. We know you are going for the glory of halting the moon and we also know that there are some of you with plans upon the moons fall, plans that are not for the benefit of this world. We will destroy the obelisks, but we would rather it be a combined effort. If you continue to get in our way, we will do what it takes to stop you. If you wish to aid us, then let us consider this a competition, in which we will halt the fall of the moon and the first group to do so, shall be able to claim all credit and gain all glory for such a deed. Signed, Toth."

About the same time Zee had gone to look in on fallen warriors, and finds to his and the other's disbelief that Jereth's body had disappeared. As the group is digesting this and the note's contents, a nude, completely healed(facial scars gone) Jereth walk out of a room and into the next. The man begins to examine and claim the empty armor and weapons, at first ignoring the others. Talking with the man proves confusing as he makes little sense and claims to have been sent by a god/goddess.

Session High Points: Everyone's reaction to a nude Jereth
Session Low Points: Leon being pulverized
Casualties: 1 earth elemental, Leon

Group: Heroe's Reflections of Misfortune's Twisted Fate
DM: Feff
IC Date: 8/10/735-8/11/735
Session Date: Jan 10, 2006
PC's Present: Leon, Lucas, Robillard, Turgeiis, Zee, Frazzle, Jereth, Mnuxim
NPC's: Cai, Lasa
Location(s ):Coopersville Forge

Experience: 55xp/lvl/hour
Length: 3 hours

The group enjoys themselves in Mnux’s tavern in Coops for some time.  At one point a man wearing a green cloak enters and sits by himself.  He stands about 6 feet tall, and after a time Jereth walks over to examine the man, who by then is reading.

Frazzle asks Robillard who the gnome they met earlier was.  Robillard tells Frazzle what he knows about Mnuxim, then the two go into a discussion about the nature of time and the IMG.  Remembering some business he’d like to take care of Robillard leaves the inn.

Jereth speaks to the green-cloaked new comer, noticing how he seems to have the eyes of a wolf.  When Robillard leaves Jereth asks if the green cloaked man will be following, as he seemed to have been watching Robillard for some time.  The man says he will not, as Imperials and lawmen are generally a bit uptight.

The rest of the night is uneventful.  Early the next morning a loud curse from Lasa brings the green cloaked man running to her room.  She assures him that she is fine, it’s simply that her brother is a moron and takes a moment to incinerate a letter before going back downstairs.

The group, minus Robillard, spends more time in the inn the next morning.  Lucas and Jereth discuss the merits of armor. Cai suggests that if the masked man in the green cloak is hiding his ugliness he could kill himself and come back like Jereth did.  She also discusses bathing, why puddles are inadequate for such things, and eventually the green cloaked man reveals himself as Eythann.

Meanwhile, Robillard has teleported himself to a meadow where he has met with several Fey in the past.  He projects a very large illusion in the sky: an image which shifts from himself, to a treant fey, to Horatio the owl Fey.  After a few minutes Horatio glides into the meadow and greets Robillard.  The mage informs Horatio of the groups current quest, and his concerns.

According to Horatio breaking the obelisks can bring serious consequences yet not breaking them can be just as bad.  (As Robillard has heard countless times.)  Since three obelisks have already been destroyed a process has been set in motion.    If only some of the obelisks are destroyed “A remembrance of the old forces of creation and oblivion would descend upon the world, bringing havoc in its wake and ruining much of what the fey have spent eternity sustaining” To break more will speed the inevitable curse, but if all are broken the Fey could halt the old curse if they know when to act.

Robillard promises that he will do what he can to destroy every single obelisk and keep Horatio informed so that the Fey will be able repair the damage when every seal is broken.  The mage returns to Coops, where Lasa promptly disciplines him for running off into what he thought might be a dangerous area by himself.

Experience: 55xp/lvl/hour

The Lost Sessions:
Following Robillard's trip to see the owl, Horatio, the group decides to begin looking for the next obelisk. Cai says she's seen something like it before and that a friend of hers knows even more than she does. With that knowledge in hand, the group allows Cai to go and meet with her friend to try to set up a meeting. Later that day, Cai reports that her friend would meet them later that night in a seedier place in town.

Once the time comes, only part of the group goes along, Zee, Alriel, Jereth, Frazzle and Cai, while the others stayed behind, either not wanting to go or not wanting to be caught in that part of town. The four that went meet up with three women, a red-headed human named Kenzie, a woman that never spoke and so never said her name, and the leader of the small troupe, Lien. The meeting starts with Lien trying to make a deal to lead the group to where she says the obelisk is. There is some word jockeying but eventually the two different groups settle to a deal. After that, the two groups split ways.

The morning comes and with it brings Cai and Lien to Mnuxim's tavern. The group meets up with the two women and they set off, following Lien's lead. They are taken into a storm sewer off of one street and eventually lead into the actual sewers of Coopersville itself. The refuse, both garbage and human, fills the sewers with a noxious stench as everyone wades through. Passing a junction of several different sewers, Alriel decides to grab up a sword sticking out of a dead body. The body and sword act as some kind of signal and suddenly large hordes of rats begin to pour from open holes, the open sewer tunnels, and from the piles of garbage all around. As the group is being swarmed, several take actions, several of the fighters swinging and trying to hit even some of the small rodents, while Lien and Robillard head for the only area not accessible to the rats, a nearby ladder. As several of the group are getting munched on, there is a collective plan established to retreat down one tunnel as spellfire from Robillard, Lien, and Suleidan fill the junction and several tunnels.

Knowing that the commotion would bring the guards, Lien leads the group to another section of the tunnels, leading them into a magically hidden room that is just big enough for the group to take refuge in. They are forced to stay there for several hours as some of the members of the group were suffering ill effects from numerous rat bites.

Casualties: Several hundred rats
Treasure: A sword for Alriel

After slogging through the maze that is Coop's sewers, the group, minus Lucas and Turgeiis, finally reach the levels below the sewers. Lien reveals the cave and the tower within with a dramatic flourish. The structure is a three leveled tower, built on a pyramid style with the lower levels being broader than the higher ones. Constructed completely from metal and surrounded with an odd greenish glow, the tower is impressive with the backdrop of a large underground lake.

Stepping inside the tower, the stench of rot fills the air, though all the interior is the same odd green steel. As the interior is being explored the doors close and disappear into the walls unable to be discerned by even the most trained eye. The only apparent route out of the room is a open rail staircase with a single closed door at the bottom. The staircase is impossible to approach by means other than the door as any attempt is met with a jolt of painful energy. As the door, which is sealed, is examined something odd happens. The floor gives rise to a batch of green skeletons, bones hard as the steel they formed from, and a vicious fight ensues. Though the skeletons are durable, their numbers quickly dwindle under the weight of the gathered adventurers' offensive might... only to rise again without delay. After a time of this, a unique skeleton is sighted, with an odd gold aura about it, and to make matters worse a sinister looking green mist starts to waft from the floor, climbing higher as the minutes drag on. Seizing on inspiration, Suledian snatches up the Key from the unique skeleton's body and the way is cleared to escape the still rising mists and skeletons.

The stair case ends in a room void of any decoration or device, save an open archway in the center of the room. Catching their breath and taking care of injuires recieved on the first floor, the party decides to study the room before making any rash decisions. As they debate whether they should try and move the empty frame against a wall, the green mist from the preivious level starts to creep out of the floor, but at a faster rate. Still unsure as to where the portal would lead them, they take their chance rather than stay and test the noxious looking mist, and rush through the archway only to step into a completely different room.

The small clearing is made completely out of stone, stones covered with layers of moss, and running water can be heard clearly yet is no where to be seen. In the center of the room stands their objective, another obelisk, and as they approach the towering monolith a feminine voice with a somewhat irritating laugh pipes up. They have met the guardian, and although she is unseen she has the power to raise walls of stone in an instant as she shows when the party approaches too closely. After her introduction, she announces that she will test the party for guardianship of the obelisk.

The guardian had tired of her games and had relinquished control of the obelisk to the wizard, Robillard. After her unnoticed departure, the wizard and his companions had begun asking questions of the large stone, but to no avail. It had gone on for a while, and soon the wizard had exhausted his questions.

A moment of concentration from the wizard, and bright yellow light from within the stone comes to life in the form of odd markings running the full length of the 12 foot tall stone. A crack forms in the same instant as the glowing writing had appeared, indeed it appeared along the writing and before any of the text is deciferable, the stone splits into two broken halves.

Their objective reached and passed, the assortment of humans and elves makes their way through the exiting arch and find themselves in an open forest glade, seemingly many miles from the sewers beneath Coopersville. The group takes a brief rest while some move off for reconnisance, its then that Lien makes her exit from the party, leaving Cai to her own designs. Following Alriel's discovery of an open grassland to the west, the remainder of the party makes their way to the west where Zee is confident they'll find a road. Finding the road as predicted, they continue onwards to Coops.

Short Summary: The adventurers return to Coopersville, where insanity has spread….but its not the only danger in their path…in order to continue their mission, they must face a new kind of evil… a 6 armed kind of evil… And some of them don’t come back alive!!!!

Long Summary: We left off with the adventurers seeing Coopersville into the distance. Deciding they’d rather spend a nice night in an inn rather than another night in the woods, they travel for the rest of the day and reach the megalopolis come nightfall. After a brief chat with the guards, and learning that a disease from the North has spread to the city and has quarantined part of it, they’re allowed to enter.

They enter town and almost immediately encounter Kenzie, who greets the group. Shortly thereafter, she informs them that the insanity doesn’t stop with the disease… all of the animals of the city, of the country even, seem to be going mad and behaving erratically. The heroes decide that the quest for the stone must continue…

Kenzie turns to them in hopes of gathering help to defeat a creature that’s been lurking, killing, and causing trouble in a lucrative setup near the city called The Games. Unable to give them more information, they nonetheless bargain their help in exchange of some of their help to locate more stones.

Soon after, the heroes head toward the Gaming Grounds…Led by Cai, they enter a building there where they meet a quartet of guards; Jaris, Morty, Squeaky and Dan . They question them about the beast, but before they can reply, yells, shrieks and chaos erupts from the end of the underground hallway.

They race to meet with the monster that threatens the lives of many only to end up face to face with a monstrosity beyond names, and more powerful than they could have ever guessed at first. Leaving no time for chit chat, an harrowing battle ensues… The beast is quickly wounded, despise dishing out massive amounts of pain and injury itself, and suddenly created a yellow cocoon of light, only to come out of it fully healed!

With a freshly healed super opponent, and a small number of them dead, the battle odds start to look bleak. The girl Cai lays unconscious after a daring backstab, two of the mercenaries are killed and one has run off, and finally, Zee makes a kamikaze attempt to hold off the beast, jumping on its back and dying painfully as the monster dislocated his own neck to impale the elf! Robillard lapses into a magic induced coma after a failed attempt at killing the monster, Frazzle…disappears!.. and before the beast can kill again….a final blow finishes it, causing the creature to explode into tiny little pieces of rock, leaving the survivors bloody and confused….

Session low points: Zee died , Robi was in a coma, and Frazzle disappeared!

PC's Present: Jereth, Suleidan, Alriel, Robillard, Zee
NPC’s Present: Cai, Townsfolk
Location: Thardferr, Coopersville Forge

XP: 50xp/lvl/hour
Length: 3 hours

Short Summary: The group seeks to get money to get their friend brought back to life, and succeed in doing so.

Long Summary: With the group unsure of how to raise the 5000 crown price to get their friend brought back to life, they all go in their separate directions to do what they think they can to get some money. Suleidan remains at the door that leads to the body of Zee. Alriel however pockets Zee’s 270 crowns and his defender ring then makes his way to the palace to request and audience with Torin. Jereth however goes to an inn and tries to get an innkeeper to tell him how to get a job that would net him 5000 crowns. Robi goes to the IMG to rememorize his spells after getting over his self induced coma.

When Alriel arrives at the temple he gets the attention of the guards by flashing Zee’s ring. The guard inspects the ring and inquires how the elf got it, he then tells them about what happens and another guard goes to investigate the story. When the second guard returns and confirms that Zee’s body is in the temple of Celenia like Alriel had said it was they take him to a room where he is to wait for a representative. The elf fights some of his urges to pilfer a few shiny objects from the room as he waits. A long slender man who’s the former emperor’s representative takes Alriels message and informs Torin. When the representative comes back he tells Alriel that 1000 crown will be sent to the temple, not the amount Alriel was hoping for and thus throws a hissy fit to no avail. He heads back to the temple to relay the good news.

Jereth arrives at a shady inn he questions a barmaid how to get 5000 crowns on a job. After some ridicule from the barmaid and the other patrons in the bar Jereth decides to take his leave and go do something devious. Walking out into a poor looking alley he finds a man covered in rags demanding the man scream for him, which the man doesn’t do, so Jereth steps on him. Still not getting the scream he wants his picks up the man and throws him 20 feet to the opening of the alley, promptly taking up a large rag and concealing himself. As a guard comes to investigate Jereth tries a couple of times to lure the guard over, finally getting the guard to come over Jereth then launches his attack. The attack was clumsy at first but he manages to get the guard knocked out after a minute or two. He then finds Cai hiding under some other rags and she finds out Jereth assaulted the poor guard so he could find out where the merchants and nobles lived. Cai convinces Jereth it would take far too long to steal 5000 crowns worth, so they both head back to the temple.

Robi goes to the IMG to find a quiet place to study so he can rememorize his spells. After he inquires as to the whereabouts of master Havarla. He finds out the Master is out in Heartville for the remainder of the week. Robi nods and goes about finishing his spell stuff, Teleporting to where the master is at the end of the day. He talks to the man to tell him about the demonesque creature that was in the gaming area of Coops. The master doesn’t seem to recognize the creature even though robi conjured a rather good illusion of it. Robi also leaves a chunk of what is left of the beast for the man to use to study.

Suleidan waits outside of the room Zee is kept in all the while, waiting for the return of Jereth, Alriel, and Cai. When they get back Cai tells them she’s going to go see her sisters and will be back in a few hours. When she returns she has a cart full of 3,600 crowns. No one really knows how she got that much money other than her saying she sold something and the long wait was because she had to wait for a good buyer. With 4,600 crowns on the table, Alriel also chips in Zee’s 270, then everyone else empties their wallets which brings them up to the 5,000 crown total they need. So they inform the priest they have the money and the priest informs the group Zee will be brought back the following day.

The Following day they all meet up outside of Zees room and head in after a bit to talk to the now less ripe and more lively elf. Jereth the suspicious fellow he is has to make sure Zee’s really alive first. After deciding he is the large man gives the wee elf a big ole hug. After some brief conversing the high and mighty says:

~Fin~

DM: Feff
IC Date: 8/14/734-10/14/734
PC's Present: Gul-Shad
NPC’s Present: Myria, Goth-Shad, Nalia Silverblade, Cricket, Gyrun Redskull, Liliath
Location: Rifttown, Coopersville, Carleon, Danville Branch

After some of Gul-Shad's recent tests and trials, the large orc finds himself meditating in Coopersville Forge, silently asking for another way to prove himself when he is approached by a mysterious elven woman. She claims that she has heard of him and wishes to ask his help in freeing the pepole of Rifttown from a terrible subjugation. Gul-Shad agrees and the two of them set out from Coopersville, heading for a meeting with Gyrun Redskull. There Gul-Shad asks for advice and a blessing from the emerging orcish leader. He is given both, but he is not aided by support in the form of more orc companions.

After this meeting, Gul-Shad and Myria head towards Rifttown, meeting with a small clan of orcs on their way. The clan leader tells them that all is not well in the city and that tension keeps building. Leaving the clan, the two of them continue heading east, eventually arriving in Rifttown. Here they see a multitude of ogres, giants, half-ogres, and foreign humans, all laboring to build walls and even extensions to the city. Upon entering the city, the two of them are shocked to find the complete order of the city. No trash litters the streets, no crime seems to occur, and all seems to be peaceful. Upon talking with a human tavern owner in the town, Gul-Shad learns some more about the foreign forces. The human tavern owner says that the orcs keep mainly to themselves in their own clans areas of the city, and that the penalties for crime are severe, especially for fights between the races. The human also goes on to tell how things are the most peaceful they've ever been, and the most prosperous.

Leaving the tavern, Gul-Shad decides they need to hear from the orcs, so they find a lookout on one of the street corners. They convince the orc lookout to take them to one of the chieftains. After a winding route through the city, Gul-Shad and Myria are eventually led into a small building and meet with the chieftain of the Night Walkers, Goth-Shad. After conversing with the incredibly young orc leader, Gul-Shad finds out that an elven woman is trying to settle a deal with the new tyrant of Rifttown for some reason. The orc warrior also learns that of the four chieftains in the city, only Goth-Shad remains, the others having been executed shortly after agreeing to let the foreign forces into the city.

So armed with knowledge and with a goblin mage by the name of Cricket, Gul-Shad and Myria head to Carleon, in the Western Coalition, to try to meet with this elven woman. Only a day after magically teleporting to the city, they are led to a secret meeting with the woman, who happens to be ruler of the land. After some discussion, Gul-Shad agrees to a bargain with Lady Silverblade, the elven ruler sending support troops to Rifttown to aid the orcish resistance, while also agreeing to act as a decoy to get the tyrant away from the city. The other part of the agreement is trade relations between the orcs of that city, as well as a number of the foreigners captured to return to the Western Coalition to work as slaves.

Teleporting back to Rifttown with a human mage emmissary named Liliath. Gul-Shad brings the elven rulers offer to Goth-Shad, who agrees to the terms. Upon hearing this, Liliath sends the message back to her ruler. Goth-Shad then gives Gul-Shad the task of taking a message to the tyrant king that would get him out of the town. So the following day, under the guise of a traitorous orc, Gul-Shad reports to the tyrant, informing him that the elven ruler has information she is willing to give about the way for the foreigners to get home. Obviously believing some of what the orc says, the tyrant quickly decides to find things out for himself, departing from the city on the back of a blue dragon mere hours later.

Within an hour of the tyrants departure, the rebellion begins, explosions going off in all sections of the city as the orcish and goblin forces attack the foreigners in a quick ambush. The foreigners, being militarily bred, organize themselves and begin a counter-offensive. While this battling occurs, Myria informs Gul-Shad and Cricket that another reason for her trying to get the tyrant to leave or be killed was because her sister was being held prisoner there. So without further ado, the small troupe set about looking for Myria's captured sister. Cricket's familiarity with the mansion leads the group down into a hidden cellar, where they all run into a group of 5 human soldiers. The humans are taken out quickly between Cricket's magic and Gul-Shad's martial expertise, but then they are faced with yet another challenge. A large ogre, armored and well-armed steps out to obviously guard the prison door. Gul-Shad is forced to engage the ogre one-on-one as it appears the ogre has something around him to nullify the effects of magic.

After a fierce battle, which the ogre initially appears to be winning until the orc warrior is able to be healed by Myria, the ogre uses his own form of magic to disappear from sight, still grinning. Forgetting about the ogre, the three set to work on opening the door to Myria's sisters cell. They free the captive woman and set back out into the city. The sight before their eyes is incredible, battles raging all over the city as the two armies fight each other to a standstill, while in the air is a whirling battle of five dragons! The two smaller blues that accompanied the foreign forces, as well as a giant red beast of unknown origin, battle with a large silver dragon and its bronze companion. The dragon battle is at a standstill as well, for the silver has a mage for a mount who manages to keep the odds even.

Not knowing where to help, the small troupe of four heads back to meet with Goth-Shad. They find the orc leader atop a large building, surveying the battle from its lofty height and sending out orders with the help of goblin magic. Gul-Shad says he is willing to do anything to help with the battle but Goth-Shad declines the help, instead offering the orcish warrior a quest to go out into the rest of the orcish realm and spread the news about Rifttown, and how the proud warriors there won't be conquered without a fight. Knowing this to be the right thing, Gul-Shad departs from the city, and parts ways with Myria who decides its time to head back to Edilar with her sister once again with her.
