Sunday Group
Sunday, July 15
Session One
Game Time: almost six hours

Players: Cholahain Sethyllion, Eldin Wanderer, Saleson DimondFoot, Quendendamen, Teth, Castrouz

Started nearby a city of Yorktown Waters. Group had a riddle to solve. Searched city for the man described in the riddle. Had a hard time finding the man. In the process, tried to help some drunk, slept in a rich widow's house(were invited). Tried to visit mayor without success. Finally, in the city tavern they found someone who said that could help them. The person they found did lead them into some basement, showed them dark cell and inside the cell was a person that they were looking for. As son as they walked into the cell, cell door was closed and the group was imprisoned. Well, old man with wooden leg, had some secret but refused to reveal it till sprung. Well, after sometime and couple troubles to overcome, group freed themselves and left the city behind.

And yes, that was a very short summary

Group Name: “Morning Clan”
Session one
Tue, July 18
Players: Velryth, Mythar The Dreamrender
Game Time: almost 4 hours (7 am est till 11 am est)

Lost in Deep Woods, huge trees and venomous snakes(spiders too), Velryth was pursued by some mean humanoids(orcs&goblins). Ohh yes, while trying to get away from these humanoids was attacked by a bear,.. who knows what would happen but luckily Mythar appeared and bear did run away(unknown why) only after ramming and throwing Vel and Mythar to the ground. Mythar made some paste from local herbs to heal wounds(effectiveness of paste ‘~’), almost surprised by orcs, managed to get away(and getting exhausted as well) without attracting their attention. Well they are lost, hunted, and they got the riddle. In any case, much later as they were going through forest Mythar managed to fall into an animal trap hole, lucky he was with Velryth, otherwise he would starve there to death. Afterwards, the hole was filled(by our adventurers) with+ some naturally occurring material and rendered harmless. Soon afterwards group heard interesting sound and decided to see what is the source. While walking toward the source(west) of the sound Mythar stomped into big orcish shit. Found cut tree and shortly after a campsite(empty). Found some orc and little goblin prints, and small looking print(looked like human). Decided human looking print was left by a captive... started following the tracks. Oh yes, somewhere in between Mythar was bitten by a spider.

Session Two
Wed, July 19
Players: Velryth, Mythar The Dreamrender
Game Time: 2-3 hours

Vel while on the night watch was attacked by a snake(constrictor). Poor snake wanted to strangle Vel’s leg. With Mythar’s help snake was defeated. Dead snake ended up in Mythar’s backpack Later on during the same night Mythar panicked cause another snake slid behind his shirt while he was sleeping on the tree in prepared by Velryth place. Smart Mythar casted sleep on himself and the snake, well, all ended up ok, and the snake ended up in Mythar’s pouch. Then it was Mythar’s time to stand on the watch. Mythar noticed swarm of light bugs dancing in air in some distance. Mythar caught one, it escaped, and the swarm started moving away from him(7-10 m at a time). As soon as Mythar was getting near the swarm, the swarm was moving away. It continued for long time. And while following the swarm Mythar got lost. And I think I missed something.

Session Three
Thru, July 20
Players: Velryth, Mythar The Dreamrender
Game Time: 4 hours, from 7 to 11 eastern time

Mythar The Dreamrender was lost, sitting somewhere in the wild, and cursing. Velryth after waking up after long time managed to find lost Mythar(amazing, Vel did not kill Mythar for leaving him asleep and unprotected). Returned on the trail and continued to follow the tracks and after sometime time group got in the proximity of the orcish/goblinish camp. Surprised and caught one poor small goblin. Goblin was very terrified and, given chance, escaped. Mythar and Vel also realized they have another problem, language. Communication with goblin was beyond Mythar’s and Vel’s ability. Then an orc patrol showed up. Group did hide in the bushes and probably would be missed if not for Mythar’s sleep spell. Orcs fell a sleep yes, but then when dragged into bushes woke up and gave a fair fight. Found camp but were unable to get near, decided to sleep in distance from camp. Started to rain, it was raining like hell, (still night)with clouds covering the sky, thunder and lighting were all around them. Hoping that these conditions will help them to get unnoticed into the camp, they picked up their butts and started on their way. It was RAINING LIKE HELL and ground was quickly becoming a virtual swamp. Before they got to orcish camp Mythar was stuck in the mud(Swamp), rescued by Vel. Finally camp was reached and found it empty. Apparently inhabitants have left before rain started. Well, group found a place in shelter left behind and decided to wait till storm passes. The weather continued for some time.

Session Four
Fri, July 21
Players: Velryth, Mythar The Dreamrender

Short Summary. Storm has finished. Mythar got sick. Waited for ground to dry up. At night ghost was passing through the camp. Vel and Mythar did not know it was a ghost, but they just heard its howl from the outside. It was getting near their shelter. Vel was looking out from the shelter(with cocked arrow), ghost had to sense it, cause it stopped. After some scary moments Vel touched the ghost. Ghost disappeared and at the same time they heard a terrible scream from afar. Vel and Mythar tried to get to the source of the scream but did not success ed. However they found a swarm of light bugs. The swarm did not mind Vel, but whenever Mythar, it was moving away. Waited till ground will dry. As soon as ground dried enough to travel and Mythar regained his health started east. There was one more small event, while on the hunt, Velryth got into the fight with a HUGE snake. Vel almost died, but with Mythar’s help that came to the rescue(and lucky dice rolls) survived and for next day was preparing snake meat for travel. Next day with a load(30 pounds) of snake jerky our humble group was back on the way east. At last found the place of forest deprived from ground vegetation. Trees in this area had lower branches(that could be reached from a surface if this remarkable planet) broken off. End of summary. Till Monday, g’by.

*posted with permission, and a little coercion, from Angel*

Morning Clan
Session Five
Monday, July 24
Players: Velryth, Entreri
(Angel played the role of Mythar rather than try to find a way to have hime vanish from the forest)
Game time: 7:30 am EST to 10:00 am EST

Summary: At the end of last session, Friday 21, we encountered a bugbear, and attempts at parley were disrupted, ending in the demise of the bugbear. Monday’s session picked up from there.
The sounds of the fight with the bugbear were overheard by some of his fellows who cam looking for him. Velryth’s attempt to hide from the 3 new bugbears failed and they gave chase, Mythar hid. After a short battle that would have gone rather badly for Velryth and Mythar (who was mysteriously hidden all during th fight, along with one bugbear looking for him) if it were not for the intervention of Entreri, the bugbears withdrew. The bugbears soon returned, with more friends than we cared to linger and count.
The heroes (?) ran for quite some time until all signs of pursuit were gone. We circled around so we were again on course (we hoped) and eventually began to set up cam. We decided to break down camp and move again despite fatigue and darkness after Entreri stepped in something a bugbear had left that was entirely too fresh for our liking. Eventually fatigue caught up and we camped without a fire. Entreri took first watch and discovered a snake, in the process getting bitten. He managed to kill it and wake his companions before he succumbed to the poison. Mythar’s herbalism skills were tested as he used leftover herb pasta as a poultice to aid Entreri’s body in fighting the poison, it worked (but I am never going to eat Mythar’s leftovers again). We rested for a large portion of the next day until we began to hear sounds of bugbears approaching. Entreri was able to travel so we set out with great haste. We ran headlong into a flooded section of forest leftover from the storms. With the bugbears only a few minutes behind, we decided to use the swamp to our advantage we decided to travel through the branches of the trees. That was the end of Monday’s session.

Due to some computer problems, mainly webrpg dropping us like flies, Tuesday’s session was a flop.

*Angel has been ill all week, so since he is not likely to post to this board I will give unofficial summaries of our last two sessions, to be replaced with the official ones later*

Morning Clan
Session Six
Wednesday, July 26
Players: Velryth, Entreri
(Angel played the role of Mythar rather than try to find a way to have hime vanish from the forest)
Game time: 8:00 am EST to 10:00 am EST

Summary:
Entreri, Mythar and I struggled to traverse the swamp via the tree branches. We fellout of the trees into the muck on more than one occasion, often pulling each other down, hence the short synopsis of SPLAT. The last time we fell Entreri was injured and comatose so the session ended with Mythar and I dragging him the last few hundred yards to firmer ground to set up a camp for him to rest.

Morning Clan
Session Seven, July 27
Players: Velryth, Entreri, Raistlin
(Angel played the role of Mythar rather than try to find a way to have hime vanish from the forest)
Game time: 7:30 am EST to 9:30 am EST

Summary:
Entreri, Mythar and I found and followed the trail of some orcs, finding their abandoned sem-permanent camp. In the camp we found Raistlin, left for dead suspended upside down from a tree, we got there just in time.
Deciding to see where the orcs went we found and followed their tracks leaving the camp, bringing along the weak and hungry Raistlin (who was actualy devouring snake jerky at a pretty fast rate). We heard a scream and upon racing to investigate found a dying bugbear woman. For some reason I (Velryth) felt compelled to aid her and soon convinced the others, she won them over herself when she thanked us in Elvish. Despite our best efforts she died, but not before she expressed her fear for her family. We promised her we would find and protect them from the orc raiders that had slain her.

The session ended early, and we sent Angel to bed.

.......unofficial summary.....

ANGELS SUNDAY GROUP:

Session #2

Playing time: about 5 hours

Participants: Eldin Wanderer, Quendendamen, Cholahain Sethyllion,

and the the faint shimmering image of Castrous Kanguish which

made several brief appearances only to fade away as quickly as it came.....

Summary:

The intrepid heroes (not to be confused with the Tepid Heroes),who just recently escaped from an underground holding cell and in the process freed an elderly man with a wooden leg held captive for years, left the town in haste......to regroup and collect their thoughts in the safety of the woods, away from the unknown depths of dangerous intrigue in the city....Overjoyed at his long -time longed -for freedom the frail man dashed forth in excitement, the strain was too much on him and his wooden leg broke causing him to collapse on the ground near to death. Quen and Chol tried their best to revive him using their healing gifts, but alas the door to the beyond had already opened and it was just a matter of time before he departed. As he lay there laboring to breathe ,he mustered just enough strength to state his gratitude and to tell of The Secret that had made him a prisoner for so many years. He spoke of something for the brave and strong, of great danger in the heart of the woods, of a druid, of stone, of ancients,...and finally he spoke no more. To add more to their curiosity, it seemed that the man had scratched a message into the wooden leg that had yet to be delivered telling of his imprisonment and likely death and inability to meet with the messages intended recipient ending finally with a wish that the message bearer be helped in some way.....Torn between returning to town to avenge his death and venturing forth to discover the cause of his fate, the party finally decided to seek answers in the forest and there to give him a final resting place...heading towards the woods the party traveled over farmland and were instructed by two farmers to pay a 5 gp toll for passage. The party paid 10 gp and and instructed the farmers to forget they had passed by. They traveled till past nightfall and came upon a wheat field nearby a group of apple trees. While discussing the virtue of sleeping in the field or under the trees, Quen and Eldin fell asleep under a tree, Cast proclaimed he would stand watch then abruptly bliped out of existence due to webrpg and Chol stood around grumbling that the field was a better a hiding place. Quen noticed three men approaching and awakened everyone. Eldin tried to hail them but to no avail, for as soon as they got close they attacked! Eldin and Quen down one attacker(permenantly) and overpowered one and knocked the other unconscous. The last man (Bob)begged for his life and, after some convincing intimidation from the rudley awakened and very unpleased party , told that the bartender was part of a dangerous local guild, and had threatened his family and thereby coerced him and his brother(Kota) to hunt down the group and bring back their heads as proof . Quen healed Kota who was near death and tied both of them up to prevent further hostility. Faced with the delimna of what to do with their newly acquired 'guests' (whose return might only spur the Bartenders efforts to greater intensity), the party considered long and hard and finally came to the decision of releasing them and allowing them to join the group on its journey. Everyone slept except Chol on watch. In the morning Eldin successfully hunted chickens. The 'guests' were unbound and grateful their lives were spared, and decided to join the group.

The group started heading again towards the woods now carrying two dead bodies. Quen was nervous about getting lost in the woods but Eldin and Chol assured him that they would be fine. Finally! the party reached the woods and began to search for tracks (Eldin and Chol both being skilled in such things). Finding none useful, Chol took a nap in order replenish his spell stock. Everyone else ate roasted chicken with carmelized apples. More traveling...Then Eldin practised his bird calls...attracting a few birds..which Chol tried to speak with, ....In the mean time Quen placed the bodies at rest under branches and leaves. Heard a snake hissing.... a wolf howled in the night waking Chol...night passed....dawn came party quickly pressed onward.....finally! an Elf footprint was seen and tracks followed.....and a small clearing revealed a hut belonging to a kind old Elf who was once a friend of a druid who lived in these woods.....party conversed and learned of a Paradise in the heart of the woods that has been Defiled!.... and of a city under siege......and of another Secret possessed by the dead druid........Outside a scream was heard! Bob was killed by a bear....the bear told Chol that it was self defense and looked perplexed that Chol could speak with him......Kota was grief stricken and decided to stay with the old Elf, with party vowing to aid kota upon their return.....party heads onward in search of a Secret and towards a great Danger.........

Highlights:

**********Dramatic death and mysterious utterances of oldman with wooden leg

**********Very amusing / Very long conversation with a stupid little birdie

**********Eldin taking 1 hp damage from banging his head against a tree in incredulous frustration

at the conversation.

Summary: a fierce storm pummeled the party. Trees fell lightening struck!
a tree hit Chol! a tree hit Quen! wounding both slightly. In the midst of the storm a raging bear ran into view holding the limp body of a woman in its maw! Chol charged at the bear screaming
and brandishing his staff. The bear dropped the woman and charged Chol sending him flying through the air to land with a resounding *THUD*. Quen checked the body and found her to still be alive. He healed her. She soon roused and thanked her benefactors and prompted by a most graceful comment by ugly Chol("I am friend to all creatures") returned their kindness with a resounding *SMACK* across Chol's face. She then proceeded to act incredulous that the party did not know who she was and told them to shove off!

Angels Sunday group
Session #5
game length: around 4 hours
participants: Cholahain, Quendendamen, Azgoth, Zeon

Summary: A great storm has subsided in the woods now just a regular rain.....
Chol found himself isolated from the rest of his party and lost sight of the strange woman he was following.
While grumbling about his puzzling situation, Chol was approached from behind by two men. One called out. Azgoth and Zeon were their names. Deciding that there is strength in numbers they agreed to travel together in that dangerous place. Azgoth pondered the weather. they gathered branches and twigs to build a fire. Chol told the others that he was trying to deliver a message. Azgoth climbed a tree in order to view from a better vantage point. Chol and Zeon build a small over hang of branches and built a small fire. Azgoth looked around from treetop and saw only darkness.....the sound of several snakes was heard.....Azgoth pulled a branch out of the fire to chased the snakes away but the rain quickly put it out....
Chol banged on a fallen tree with his staff trying to imitate the sound of a large animal to scare the snakes away..... Zeon Used his animal lore to think of an animal that preys on snakes and yelled"caw!! caw!!" imitating a large bird....Azgoth shot a few arrows at the snakes to drive them away....Zeon lit some arrows aflame and shot them at the snakes......Chol urged his companions to come back by the fire and relax....they came back...Chol prayed....Zeon took watch and tended to the fire....Azgoth slept....Chol took second watch ...then finally slept....Dawn came ...Azgoth climbed a tree again. and saw only forest denser to the east....Chol stripped naked to dry his clothes and urged others to do the same.....Suddenly! a sound was heard!.....A low distant drumming came from the northeast....Chol tried to remember the pattern of the drumming....The party donned their cloths and armor and set off......Azgoth drew his daggers and started slashing at the tree branches in order to clear a path...Chol looked horrified .....Azgoth asked "what is it Chol?" Chol responded "There is absolutely no need to harm those plants!!" and proceeded to lecture him on the sacredness of all living creatures then showed the group how to navigate through the dense woods without harming the plantlife....Azgoth looked astounded and fabbergasted and shaking his head finally agreed......Chol took the lead banging his staff on the ground as they walked to scare any snakes away.....Azgoth laughed at the seemingly foolish Chol banging his staff on the ground like a wheat thrasher......party continues for a while....Chol falls out of site into a pit trap landing with smack into the mud burying himself up to the waste.....Zeon pulled a rope from is backpack and threw it down to Chol.....but he forgot to hold on to the end of it......Azgoth laughs at Chols little accident......After a long time of falling back into the hole and pulling chol out the group finally manages to free him.....they proceed onward....Chol falls into another pit trap .....finally they get him out .......Azgoth furiously proclaimed"I HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE these traps!!!!!!!".......onward.....they found Quendendamen stuck at the bottom of yet another pit trap......they help edhim out.....and proceed....another trap! but luckily zeon found it without falling into it.......They came upon an old wooden wall about 5 feet high, and climbed over it...to discover an abandoned village!!!!...they searched around for signs of recent activity and found some tracks possibly a day or two old.....about 20 low huts probably belonging to elves were there....The group started to search a hut and werre attacked by thousands of spiders!,......Zeon and azgoth were bitten immediately.......they ran outside.....and searched another hut.....only to find the grandmama of the spiders!!! the group hastly retreated.....Quen and Chol began to prepare an antivenom .what followed was a most horrible combat between 4 people running around in the dark being chased by hundreds of spiders and 1 big mama spider.....Zeon passed out from the venom onto the ground...Azgoth wished he hadn't been talked by Chol out of torching the village.........Chol wished he hadn't talked Azgoth out of torching the village........Azgoth and Quen ran back to the wooden wall. and climbed up it.....Chol ran back to Zeons body only to find him covered in spiders......most foolishly Chol pounded Zeons unconsious body with his palms to crush the spiders.....and luckily(dex check=2) smashed em off in his furios impersenation of an elvish dance troop picked him up and ran over to the wall.....Quen grabbed the limp body......Azgoth leaped to the outside of the wall only to be bound by the feet in some sort of webbing......Big mama spider tried to eat Azgoth....His feet all bounded Azgoth still managed to release a few arrows into mama spider killing her.......hundreds of spiders swarmed Azgoth.....but he was unable to flee because of the webbing....Quen and Chol urged him to burn the webbing that held him fast....he protested " IF I LIGHT THE WEB I WOULD DIE BURNED!!!!"
reluctantly against his better thinking he lit the web and it burned freeing him enough for Quen to pull him up the wall.......finally the party fled into the darkness with such haste that Chol ran face first into a tree breaking his nose and further makeing his face even more unpleaseing to behold....In the dark of night having not eaten for the entire day the party rested. and decided to return to the village in the daylight.....

Treasure: yeah right (none yet)

Angel Sunday Group

Session #6

Game length: 3 hours

Participants: Cho, Argazlo, Duke Rampart, Tanuvein Dweller, and Draygon.

session nickname "The continuing Saga of new recruits"

[late night] Having finally put some distance between themselves and the spiders, Chol and Argazlo made camp and tried to rest. Chol rubbed his swollen tender nose. As if from no where, three men appeared from out of the bushes, two elves and a human."Who goes there?", Chol called out and quickly rose to his feet reaching for his staff. One of the elves, the Wilder looking one waved. The other elf stopped sharply and regarded Chol warily and said "Are you so quick you attack others, friend? " The human, clad in armor, put his hand on the handle of his broadsword. "I do not attack friends, do you wander around in the dark often?", asked Chol. Argazlo readied his mace. The wary elf motioned to the wilder elf and translating for him said," he says 'hi' ", and "We are.......lost". Argazlo asked,"Where are you from?""Originally," answered the elf, "I am from Atelier, we were traveling to Tuth ...then we..."(hesitantly)"...arrived here.""I am Cho, what are your names?", he said."I am Duke Rampart of Tuth.", the warrior said. The talkative elf bowed fully and with a singsong voice lilted " I am Tanuvein Dweller of Atelier at your service"A wild animal howled."greetings, i am Argazlo", the elvish cleric said. The wilder elf jumped at the sound of the howling animal and clutched his staff."a duke eh? welcome to our campfire.", said Chol. Tanuvein glanced over at the wild elf . Noticing his agitation, and mistakenly attributing it to his feelings about the newly met people, spoke rapidly in elvish, "calm down, they are not enemies." The Dense forest teemed with sounds of animal life. Many snakes were heard in all directions. Chol looked around nervously and asked, "do you have any foodstuffs? Tanuvein looked away from the light of the fire into the darkness searching for the snakes whereabouts His eyes ,with a slight reddish glow, shifted from normal vision , into the infrared spectrum. The wild elf said something in elvish. Responding to Chol's question, Duke said, "let me check my pack.""Be careful and stay close to the fire, these woods are infested with many kinds of poisonous creatures...many .", Chol said and then "What brings you two to these parts?", asked Tanuvein."i came as a messenger seeking one who i think has departed" Chol answered, "A druid "Tanuvein Dweller whispers to Draygon in elvish "Stay close to me, there are dangerous animals in the woods. This is Cho and Agrazlo." "ok" Draygon said. "Do you by any
chance no the way out of this area?" asked Tanuvein. "the woods are thick all around. The closest way out is to the west but that is a few days journey at best" answered Chol. The wind whistled in the coronas of the trees ,intrigued by the seemingly out of place people. "There is power in numbers. And safety. Perhaps we should travel and accompany of each other?" Tanuvein suggested. "I agree welcome all", Argazlo warmly said. "These woods were not always so dangerous, a presence has somehow corrupted them....i am now searching for the source of this perversion" Chol revealed. Cholahain considered for a moment, "you are welcome to stay the night perhaps we can talk more in the morning" "Sounds like a good idea", the strong quiet warrior conceded. The wild elf, Draygon, spoke again in elvish, Tanuvein Dweller gave a nod of
acknowledgment to him."i am traveling East to find the source of the problems here....do you wish to accompany me?", Chol invited. Out of the dark night a few bats zipped into the firelit area and swooped overhead before darting away again. Draygon crazily swung his staff up in the air
at them and yelled something not understood by all but for its feverish maliciousness. "You must excuse him... he is not used to being so far from home." Tanuvein apologized then said,"We have little better to do. In part, it is our obligation to help those in need." "that is a good
obligation," Chol acknowledged," and in this case those in need are many. I would guess they are all of the nearby peoples and inhabitants of these woods" Cholahain sat near the fire and asked,"are any of you injured?" Finally ignoring the bats, Draygon threw a tree branch on the
fire causing the wood in the fire to burn happily, and a spark or two to fly up with smoke. Tanuvein Dweller eyes slowly faded to silver, as he slipped back into normal view. He sat before the fire and said, "I am not." then in elvish "Are you hurt Draygon?" The wild elf ,having
slipped quickly from his manic murderous state into a tranquil serenity answered, "no" The large warrior remained silent. Cholahain pulled out a small sprig of mistletoe and, sprinkling the fine dust of it on his forehead, spoke something in a hushed voice, a sort of low humming that
vibrated his whole body. When he finished his cheeks were flushed with color and his eyes looked a little less weary. He then fell into a meditative prayer. The blue robed Tanuvein cursed as an ember popped on him, and scooted a little away from the fire to protect his fine
clothing. Insects flew overhead, attracted by fire. "I suggest we go to sleep, so we will be strong in the morning", Argazlo offered. Tanuvein Dweller opened a small vial of concentrated garlic oil and began to rub it all over his exposed body parts, the stench knocking away any bugs that come close. Then Duke did the same. The overpowering smell escaped no ones notice. The silent elf tended to the fire increasing its size to a healthy roar that was comforting to those of the group used to hearths and other such luxuries. Then the group went to sleep except for Draygon
standing watch and Tanuvein who was immersed in an old book of sturdy construction, staring intently at its symbols, his eyes never leaving the page, finally as if coming to some definitive mark in the strange crowd of arcane symbols he too went to sleep. All slept deeply except
for Chol who seemed to plagued by dreams. Cholahain snored and muttered "spiders ..spiders....there are too many spiders....something not right..." With time the sounds of birds started to enter the night increasing in volume as the dawn approached. The group awakened. The
morning rituals all peoples go through are usually done so with a mourning-like slowness to them, but the strange wild elf was up in a flash and literally lept into the air overjoyed at something that eluded the rest of the party. The fire was out and a growing warmth brought by the rising sun accompanied with a thick jungle like humidity enveloped the group promised an uncomfortable day ahead. As he does every morning, Argazlo prayed to his deity to grant aid to him for the unknown future that awaited him. Chol wasted no time in filling in his newly acquired
traveling companions on the details of the previous few days, "last night we found an abandoned village..", he began and continued until his knowledge was exhausted by their questions. Since many questions remained unanswered about the village and about a low distant drumming
that was heard for a brief time that morning, they decided to investigate both starting with the drumming. As they left their camp and walked towards the east where, to the best of their knowledge, the drumming originated Duke drew his broadsword exclaiming, "Better to be
safe than sorry". Cho told them about the many traps they had encountered and Tanuvein took much heed in his words proceeding cautiously. They traveled for a short time towards the east and rather unexpectedly came upon a family of wild boars. It was a Mother and four large cubs. The party stopped abruptly and Chol and Argazlo started to back away urging the others to do the same. All backed off except for duke who stood perfectly still and Draygon who seemed to be fascinated with them. He stood there looking at them and at the area of ground where they were situated. "Back away!", Chol prompted. A large male boar trotted out from the brush. Argazlo climbed a tree and started slinging a few stones at the ground near the mother boar. This made her back away and soon leave, her cubs following. Tanuvein backed up to a tree in preparation of vertical escape should the remaining Boar charge and nervously pleaded,"why won't it GO away?!?" To his relief it soon left and he let out a sigh. Duke remained silent. The group soon continued on all feeling the pangs of hunger that come from a hard days exertion and having not eaten for a day and a half. Tanuvein took the lead position so that Chol could divert his attention to finding edible plants as they walked. Eyes downward he soon saw footprints and luckily some edible straw which they all shared. They guessed that the tracks were of Orcish origin and pretty recently made. They estimated that there were a score of orcs nearby. Chol told the group of the rumor he had heard about Navelorn being attacked by Morlans forces and they together decided that the tracks must belong to a unit of orcs headed towards Navelorn. They discussed what to do next, the group had divided opinions, Tanuvein and Draygon motivated by racial loyalty wanting to follow the orcs and even hopefully assassinate Morlan , and Argazlo and Chol wishing to stay away, and therefore alive, from the orcish unit. Duke's position was not motivated by self preservation but against the dishonorable deed of assassination. Motivations come in all varieties, but the single most common motivator able to influence the majority of peoples that walk the lands is treasure. The mention of possible loot plundered by the orcs shined like a freshly minted copper piece in many of the party members eyes. So, they decided to follow the orcs tracks for a while just to see what they might be up to. Tanuveins words were thick with hatred at his peoples enemies who he just might soon have the chance to kill, and were mimicked by Draygons equally fervent gesticulations, his arms flailing wildly in the air. They continued Eastward and soon came upon a small lake in the middle of the dense woods. Argazlo decided to swim across to see what was on the other side. He slowly waded into the water checking its depth and his footing. About 2 meters from shore the bottom was swampy and poor Argazlo started to sink. He tried to free himself but he was held fast and sinking, for unfortunately, he forgot to take off his chainmail armor and hard boots. Draygon Junped in to rescue Argazlo, swimming out to him. Draygon pulled but was unable to free him , he did however exert enough force to keep him from being sucked under into the muck, and happy at his accomplishment yelled, "YYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!" Argazlo hurriedly began to remove his armor and almost went under when he let go of Draygons hand for a second. They struggled back to shore, Draygon extending his staff to Chol who helped pull them in. Despite the lakes almost elficidal
incident its water was clean and fresh to drink, so they did. Many animal tracks were visible from the shoreline and the orcs tracks followed the shore along to the north. They discussed once again the merits of following the orcs or going back to give the village a thorough search.
