Description: I have always taken on the style of a pure "Referee". The basic plots and story lines are set up, but the direction the adventure takes is up to the players. Whatever happens...happens. I pull no punches. My adventures consist of everything from political intrigue....to good old dungeon crawls....to holy (or unholy) quests into the wastelands....Like I said before, it's up to you. My Saturday night group will consist solely of members of a certain guild I've been working with. As far as the Thursday night group, anything goes: any classes, any races, any alignments...bring it on. I'm also open to run the occasional side trek session for those players who beg and grovel enough.

The following are the last few PCDM sessions for the BA.

Quick summary:

A poor little elven thief tests fot the Burning Arm, get's knocked unconscious by a city guard. Another three man patrol comes up missing in Coops.

Longer version:

The applicant was an elven thief, and the set us was pretty much the standard. He goes to the Black Fist, orders "the drink" and is escorted back to the private room. Only difference was a senior guild member was posing as a large dwarven statue on a pedestal in the back of the room. As the nervous thief poured a glass of ale and was ready to take a sip... *wham* ... a club comes flying across the room and shatters the mug. The pour elf jumps on the chair as the 'statue' steps off the pedestal laughing. He introduces himself as one of the guides for the test. Molga enters the room, brief intro, and informs the two that the big boss man wants her to go scout the area real quick to make sure the coast is clear. They agree to meet at the exit of the concealed tunnel. So the dwarf and elf head out of the Inn through the cellar and out the passageway and meet Molga later on in the abandoned building at the hidden exit.

The initiate is given one last chance to back out and refuses. Molga informs them that she's been watching a set of guards that have been patrolling about ten blocks away, and that they were the 'marks' for tonight's test. The three head off down a back alley. They didn't make three blocks before they ran face to face into a patrol of Order soldiers. The guards ask them to halt and identify themselves as one of the members is tossing a club in their direction. The initiate was then the first to attack, swinging bravely at the closest guard....he was also the first to fall as the man side stepped his attack and answered with a thrust than sent the thief into never never land...(he ended up dropping to -8 hp before we were able to finish off the three man patrol and stop the bleeding)....After the two guild seniors battled the soldiers, which did not go as easily as they thought, each man receiving over 20hp in dmg, the bodies were dragged to a nearby sewer grate and disposed of. Molga carries the elf down the series of sewer tunnels, after decapitating the bodies and removing the hearts of course....the other guild member follows carrying a set of armor taken off one of the victims.

The three make it back to the guild hall and introduce the unconscious thief as the guild's newest member, at the same time searching out a priest to heal the brave elven fool : ) Lucky the test is one of loyalty and not skill ; )

Results: Another three man patrol comes up missing in Coops, and the streets are noticeably more active with troops.

Request validation on this session, recommend 100xp (two hours, good role play). Rumors should now most definitely be flying throughout Coops and the guards should be on alert.

Smellfully yours,
Molga

This is a summary of the test of initiate Ta Glu Mesdorf, Orc fighter, I can use his name because he dies in the next session : )

Present were myself (Molga), and two other new guild members, as well as our enthusiastic applicant.

Short version: A large battle crazed orc is tested for the BA, passes but alerts half of Coops. Two more patrols murdered, and the guild members running for their lives...

Detailed version:

Setup was standard, except Ta Glu remembered nothing about the password at the bar and just spent the time scaring local patrons by stealing there drinks. When Molga entered and went straight to the back room he followed (hehe, finally a man with taste). The two met in the hall as she was knocking on the door to the private room. The two guild members open the door as the orc couple is getting acquainted in the hallway. The group enters the room, goes though a brief meet and greet....and it becomes obvious that Ta Glu does not trust magic users much, no matter how much one of the mages used her skills of etiquette. The four then leave the room and head out the inn the normal route. Ta Glu is given the chance to back out but refuses , especially if he can have the pleasure of killing someone that night.

Once outside the concealed passageway the four head off down the street for their marks, a patrol of three soldiers a dozen or so blocks away.... but with all the recent attacks, bodies found, and patrols missing our adventurers were not going to have an easy night. Within six blocks the two smaller women taking up the rear are confronted with a six man patrol led by a guard in full plate armor. The elven mage, once again with the element of surprise on her side, quickly let fly her only spell (sleep) and the guards fell to the street in a deep slumber, leaving the leader facing them without a hint of fear. (3rd level Paladin) As the two orcish fighters were trying to make their way back to melee, the other 'lady' makes an attack with her staff and it falls harmlessly off the man's shield. The well trained veteran then returns a blow which drops her to her knees as the two orcs are finally able to divert his attention.....within two rounds the fierceness of the orc couple wins over the calculated skill of the trained soldier and he falls to the street in a puddle of blood....in the meantime the other two had been busy crushing as many skulls as possible before the soldiers revived....the few that began to stir were quickly dispatched. The group was about to celebrate their victory when a bolt from a crossbow finds the female thief...and a voice from the other direction yells "HALT AND DROP YOUR WEAPONS!"....

Ta Glu immediately rushes to the voice to engage it's owner as Molga follows, directing the others to get back to the guild hall... The following battle consisted of the two orcs, side by side, fending off the attacks of six soldiers....only able to attack two by two....Ta Glu and his female comrade were able to take the battle to the guards.....and in the end the last guard turns to flee... Ta
Glu was going to give chase but Molga stops him telling him that the big boss man wanted one to get away. In the meantime the other two feeling loyalty over orders had returned and one of them quickly informs Molga not to let the man escape because he knows the orc's name....which was hollered out in battle by one of the new members....What follows is a four block chase, with the elven mage arriving first to tap the man on the back with her staff, doing little else to him than let him know she was there, he quickly turned and with one well aimed swing the elf hit the pavement with blood flowing freely from a gash in her temple (-5hp). Ta Glu misses the man with a thrown axe as Molga fails at an attempt to tackle....A couple rounds later with Molga yet missing another tackle but Ta Glu landing two hits on the fleeing victim with hand axes...the last on left protruding form the man's neck as he hit the ground...

Molga uses the soldier's own sword to seperate his head from his body and reaches in through the neck, removes the heart and gives it to Ta Glu who she says earned the victory in this battle. She then rushes over to the felled guild member... finding the other woman at her side trying to stop the flow of blood...the two manage to stabilize the elf, Molga throwing her over her shoulder and running down the alley...
The poor female thief turns to follow, and wouldn't you know it another crossbow bolt from the dark drops her to the ground unconscious...Ta Glu picks the woman up and races down the street following Molga and now running for his life...he is hit with a bolt himself but does not turn to engage the enemy which can now be heard shouting and sounding signal whistles....

Molga makes it two blocks down and jumps into an open sewer grate....stumbling but managing to keep to her feet as she heads on down the sewers into the safety of the darkness...Ta Glu tries the same maneuver but stumbles, dropping his cargo and continuing to run after Molga.... A brief ways down Molga notices that he has left his 'passenger' and hands him the injured mage as she runs back to get the thief... Ta takes one look at the elven mage in his hands, drops her and follows Molga...(she takes another point of damage, she was down to -8 before we got back). Molga makes it back to the abandoned thief and picks her up as two more bolts fly into the sewer from the streets above... The groups races for dear life back into the filthy passageways...Molga chastising Ta Glu for dropping the poor elfie...as he picks up the mage and they head for the safety of the guild hall and some much needed rest and healing...

By far one of the best role playing sessions I've seen in a while. Also one of the deadliest. Ta Glu with his extreme enthusiasm kept growling and hollering at his opponents, and screaming in victory as they would fall. Of course by doing this attracting any other patrols in the area. The group was about two unlucky rolls away from death or capture. This will most likely be the last test in the city of Coops for a while. Patrols are now too hot : )

Request validation on this session, 150xp (three hour session, excellent role play), and the rumors can now include vague descriptions of orcs fighting along side with women in back alleys....slaughtering troops belonging to the Order...

Casualties: 8 OOS soldiers(1st lvl ftrs), 2 OOS Lieutenants (2nd lvl ftrs), and an OOS Watch Commander (3rd level Paladin)
this should stir some serious doo doo ; )

Smellfully yours,
Molga

Another test for the Burning Arm.

Present were three current members and four initiates.

The initiates met at the usual place, followed Molga out the secret tunnel and then into the sewers. Once in the filthy tunnels below Coops they were told their mission was a simple one, to gather up the dead bodies from the last few missions that were left hidden in these smelly passageways under the city streets. The small group made their way a few blocks down when they noticed two figures approaching them, after a bit of caution they were identified as Ta Glu and a dwarf, having been sent down earlier to find any signs of the remains. The dwarf led the way and within the hour they came upon the corpses of five guards, bearing symbols of the Order, armor sliced and dented, with their heads scattered about. The members and initiates quickly gather up all the evidence they can find, including some broad swords and damaged shields and begin to make their way back to the guild hall, with the dead carried by the larger of the bunch....

Suddenly after only a short distance down the pipes they hear the sounds of metal being dropped or thrown followed by footsteps in a side passageway. Dropping their cargo and running to investigate they can make out a group of small humanoids making a quick retreat. As the pursuit follows they quickly catch up to the fleeing little men (gnome sewer workers, actually six workers and three armed guards) as three of the figures turn to engage the group, brandishing short swords and showing no fear. The first three on the scene were Ta Glu, another orc, and Slacker eager to do battle....which would be a deadly mistake for one of them... As the fight began it was clear that these gnome warriors were skilled in the use of their short blades, one of them able to drop the elf named Slacker with three stabs of his sword while dodging the elf's attacks.....the initiate fell to the muck never to rise again...(brought down to -12 hp with the last two blows, one being a crit)...the orcan applicant was not having much better luck, although he dealt a telling blow to his opponent the short warrior answered with two of his own that dropped the orc to the ground...bleeding from his side and unconscious (-2hp...he would be at -6 before the bleeding was stopped).....Ta Glu now in a frenzy swings his axe wildly as Molga and and her partner arrive throwing spear and club into the fight....the thief attempts to help, but is only able to toss a dart into the leg of Ta Glu and then attempting to throw on the run falling face first into the sewage....within two rounds the three gnome fighters are brought down by the mighty blade of Ta Glu as well as some help from the dwarf and Molga...the pursuit then began for the other six that fled......

In the meantime the thief stays behind and attempts to stop the life blood flowing freely from the fallen orc, and after a couple attempts he was successful. The elf was beyond help.... suddenly the initiate is frozen in place as he hears someone approaching from behind. A menacing figure of a dwarf walks up to the young man, cursing about sloppy work and bumbling idiots.....This turns out to be the mysterious new member who was sent by the guild master himself to check on their progress...

Further down the tunnel the others catch up to four of the fleeing sewer workers and quickly dispatch of two....with the other two dropping to their knees and begging for their lives....pleading and promising to do whatever was asked of them if their lives would just be spared....as Ta Glu raises his axe to silence their pleas the dwarf attempts to tackle the large orc for some reason...and an argument then follows..Molga initially trying to stop the two, informing them there was not time for this since two of the little men were still missing...but to no avail, tempers were rising. Molga shakes her head as she steps past the two and puts an end to the two gnomes on their knees....then she runs down the passageway looking for the two that escaped...

The battle between Ta Glu and his short foe was a quick one...the orc drawing first blood....followed by the dwarf answering with two strikes (one of them being a critical that brought the orc down to -1hp).....just as he was going to finish off his opponent he was "Commanded" to sit by the dwarven priest approaching with the thief following....for the next ten minutes a verbal argument ensues...results being that Ta Glu bleeds to death with one dwarf blocking the other from attending to him, and the priest finally casting a spell on the senior member causing his armor to burn and blister his skin...forcing him to roll around in the sewer muck to try to cool off (he received 28hp of damage before the heat subsided and ended up covered from head to toe in aromatic sludge)... meanwhile a scream can be heard further down....a few minutes later followed by another...as Molga slowly makes her way back with the bodies of the other gnomes on her shoulders....

The group decided to finish gathering up the injured and dead, and to finish any conversations back at the guild hall.......

Requesting validation for this, 200xp (four hour session filled with role play and combat). This session will most likely result in rumors of missing sewer workers underneath Coops, as well as friction and conflict within the Burning Arm.

Casualties: an initiate, Slacker the elf, and Ta Glu Mesdorf, a new member to the guild. As well as a group of nine gnomes. The bodies were all brought back to the guild hall.

Results: Three more players being welcomed to the guild.

Well here is a summary of the last test Molga will oversee.

Present were three new initiates and half a dozen current members.

Short version: The group met, were addressed personally by the guild master who gave them explicit orders. Left the city, a few miles away Molga becomes bug food as the party turns and flees in terror.

Details:

The set up was basically the same.....met at the Black Fist.....meeting in a back room....the only thing that changed was the large number of applicants that showed up ( at least six initiates plus more existing members showed up for the first half of this session ). After moving the 'mob' into a larger meeting room, Molga tried her best to sniff out any spies, literally. After a couple attempts, and not really knowing what a spy smelt like she tried interrogation, which only confused the matter, seems like at least one of the applicants was and admitted spy for hire. While this was going on the guild master himself walks in and the room falls into instant silence...

He addresses the group, giving an warning and some vague information about the mission tonight. The objective would be a man who was once associated with the guild, but who having tried to hide himself and his wagging tongue, has now sentenced himself and all around him to death. He instructs those in the room that their test tonight is simple, by the time the sun rises this man and all he spoke with and associated with should no longer be among the living, and their remains should be nothing more than ashes and bones. With that the group is split up, Molga taking one half and the other half following a dwarf and the Guild Master...

Molga takes her group out a back door of the inn to meet a little goblin. The goblin with his straw hat and staff leads them down back alleys and main streets to a large set of stables. There they hook up with an elderly gnome by the name of "Pack Rat" (one of Sforza's npc's, hope he doesn't mind), with a wagon loaded with cargo and covered in tarps, and head to the city gates. The old man must have had his papers in order because the guards let them pass with little trouble....a quick glance at his forms, a look under the tarp at the cargo (large barrels)....and they were off. One of the female initiates also helping with an occasional flirtation with the guards... Once out the city gates they traveled at a steady pace until the walls and guards were out of site.....

The wagon comes to a stop and horses can be heard approaching....the initiates and some of the current members were a bit nervous as an elf leading six horses comes into view and offers those without mounts an animal for the night... most of the group accepts and the remaining horses are tied to the back of the wagon. After this the wagon continued down the main road for another mile or so before turning off into the plains, destination unknown..... the grasslands fairly level and easy to travel.... the moonlight was dim, the night was quiet and all seemed to be going as planned....

Within the hour a scream of surprise mixed with terror can be heard from Molga who was scouting ahead of the group, and the large orc can be seen running back to the caravan..."RUN...NOW....TURN DA WAGUNS ROWND...KWIK!"....as three giant shapes could be seen behind the orc....the scene that followed is gruesome and one that will remain in the minds of all who saw for years to come. Before she had time to turn around and fight the massive forms were upon her...the sounds of loud 'clicking' and flesh being torn filled the night.....as she turned hefting her axe and ready to defend herself...two of the giants grabbed her and literally ripped the warrior in two, immediately beginning to feed on the remains....

The group in shock.... half of them turning to flee immediately...the others unsure what to do...and the wagon master wasting no time to make a retreat....as the elf who had brought the mounts acted quickly and untied the unmanned animals and sent them out into the night....as four more large forms can be seen approaching the group. As their eyes adjust the adventurers can make out that the creatures are giant beetles, bigger than anything they've ever seen...complete with horns and mandibles that obviously brought death swiftly to anyone within reach.... A few of the brave warriors attempted to fire arrows at the beast, only to draw more of their attention, as the other beetles were having some luck catching a couple of the horses, making short work of the animals and feasting on the meat.... one of the braver elven members was the last to flee, stopping and firing again, but seeing one of the beasts heading his was he quickly mounted again and joined in the retreat....

The wagon and its escort made a bee line for the city, informing the guards of the attack (with an incorrect direction) and entering the city. From here the wagon was sent back to the stables and the four 'Senior' members take the group of initiates back to the guild hall to make a report to the Master. Most of the group now extremely nervous, not knowing what the guild would do to them having not completed the mission and witnessing the loss of a veteran member of the Burning Arm.......

Requesting validation on this, recommend 250 xp, five hours total with above average roll play and witnessing a death that few will forget. This may lead to rumors and further adventures, by the guild or other groups.

Casualties: Molga the orc, three unlucky horses

Results: Three more members being welcomed into the guild, after they face the guild master ; )

Note: This was a random encounter and not the actual "Mission" itself. Poor Molga just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Giant Stagg Beetles got the surprise roll and the first initiative, giving them two attacks on the orc before she could fight back, and doing over 80hp of damage. Personally I would have imagined a much grander death for my PC, but that's the hazards of adventuring. Lesson learned tonight, never underestimate Mother Nature while traveling the countryside at night : )

This is part two of the initial failed mission on the night Molga became bug food:

Present: Same group, minus one smelly orc

Thardferr Date: 15th of Walloon 728

Summary: After a chastising by the Master of the Guild, and a stern warning that the mission must be completed before morning, the group makes their way back to the stables and out into the night, most of them suffering from Bigbugphobia. Six hours later they make their way back into the city through an old sewer pipe, dragging the wounded and looking the worse for wear. They at least completed the mission, though it did not go as planned, and the traitor to the guild has been silenced as well as the rest of the citizens of a small farming hamlet.

***********************************************

Long version: The group spends a while in the guild hall arguing over what to be done. Some of them wanting to revenge the death of Molga, others wanting to complete the mission fearing what the guild master might do to them, and still others wanting to call it off and send hired mercenaries out to finish that task. Suddenly a chair at the end of the table, seemingly vacant and reserved for the Master, slowly rotates and the man they have all been reluctant to see comes into view. Having been sitting there listening to their bickering he quickly silences the group and restates his initial orders. The mission will be completed before sunrise and the creatures that killed the orc are not of the guild's concern. With that he gave directions to the hamlet which lay seven miles north west of the city, told them that horses were available if needed and left the room to see about other pressing matters.

Our group of adventurers decided that horseback would be safer so they gathered their supplies, rode out of the city through the a southern gate and later made a wide circle... working their way towards their target. After finding another main road and then the smaller side trail that was said to lead to the hamlet, the group was confronted by a goblin on horseback. They had previously been warned that some men would be awaiting them and would offer to take any slaves captured during the attack and return compensation. The goblin tells them he'll be watching and that he and his men will make there entrance once the work has been done. A couple miles down the road they finally come into view of a small outcropping of buildings, this is were things got interesting.

Three of the group spread out to watch the outside perimeter, as the others decided to enter the village with torn clothing and cuts saying they had been attacked by bandits. While they were preparing themselves another in the group decided to disguise himself as a farmer and sneak into the village himself. And yet another clumsy elf decided to climb a tree to watch the events unfold and be of any help with his bow... and after a fall or two he makes it up into his perch. The thief in disguise makes his way into the nearest house and begins his search.... as the others are now making their entrance, screaming and begging for help. The villagers are slow to make their way into the streets and begin to question the men... as a scream followed by a woman running out of house screaming "HELP, HELP.... HE'S GONNA MURDER ME HUSBAND!" (Our thief was caught in the act and is now being put in a headlock by a local farmer.... and the room is on fire with a lamp being thrown).

The village men run into the house brandishing pitchforks and shovels to see a stranger attacking one of their own... a small fight ensued with the thief showing his prowess... until the dwarven blacksmith of the village made his entrance and dropped the man with one blow from his axe. At this point the others from the guild move into the home, one of them casting a spell that ends up putting the villagers in the room to sleep as well as one of his comrades, as a witness from the street begins to shriek in horror.... and the chaos begins... women running with their children.... young teenage boys grabbing sickles and knives to defend the village....

The elf who was in the tree makes his way into the village, firing arrows into one of the last adult men standing and drawing the attention of a group of four armed youths who screamed at the murdering elf and attacked.... dropping the man with a barrage of attacks from the sickles and other blades... as one of the youths was about to finish the elf arrows begin to fly from the darkness hitting his attacker and others in the village.... within minutes goblin riders are running through the streets armed with spears and taking out all remaining adults and any villager wielding any type of weapon....

The adventurers left conscious begin to gather the bodies and put them into the burning building as they set the rest of the place on fire.... searching quickly through the homes and finding some loot... as the goblins are binding and gagging the young children for the journey to the slave camps. The goblins ride out, laughing and making insulting gestures at the sloppy work of the group and without paying as much as a copper for the slaves. The guild members make one more quick search of the village, making sure no survivors remained.... they did find one set of tracks running off into the field but soon lost the trail.... so it was back to the city...

Rather than brave the main gates they decided to use an old sewer pipe to gain entrance to the tunnels below the city... dragging their unconscious wounded comrades through sewer muck and sludge.... and as luck would have it before making it back to the tunnels that led to the guild hall they themselves became victims of Bandits and were relieved of most of their valuables gathered that night.....

Casualties: Most of the inhabitant of a small farming hamlet, with most of the children being spared for the goblin slavers. The man marked for termination by the guild was among the bodies left in the burning village.

Results: Mission completed, though sloppily done.... and the newest members to the guild make their way back to report to the Master....

Experience: 200 xp per player (fours hours, good role play)

Note: This took place two nights before the burning of The Black Fist in Coops. Will lead to many more rumors and investigations by local authorities as well as the goblin slavers being tracked.

Present: 2 new initiate of the Burning Arm, 2 npc's from the BA, 2 current members of the BA, 2 npc's from the OOS, 1 member of the OOS

Date: 17th of Walloon, 728

Location:Coopersville Forge

Summary: The standard initiation meet and greet, quick trip down the tunnel when the group is threatened by a voice from the darkness telling them to halt and identify themselves.... spear thrown.... whistle blowing... spell casting... tunnel being collapsed.... running & screaming..... Black Fist burnt to the ground with at least a dozen of the patrons charred remains to be found. Results being a new member welcomed into the guild and another initiate dying in the process, also the OOS now with more information and evidence of an organized group of criminals within Coops.

Special thanks to Ranathar and the other two members of the Order who helped with the session and shocked the heck out of the BA players who thought the were in a "Private Session" : )

********************************************

Long Version: The group assembles at the normal location, a back room at The Black Fist Inn. The guides for this mission are a couple of orc brothers, one a bit small for his race but on the smarter side, the other a huge brute who was never known to speak. The two initiates and a couple existing members meet with the orcs and head down the hall, into the cellar, and down the hidden tunnel. Needing a light source because of having a human in the group they were surprised when after traveling for about 8 blocks one of the initiates hears a sound ahead and a voice yells out "Halt and identify yourselves". With this the orc leading the group grunts and moves forward, as a torch is throw to reveal a gnome with some allies standing 30' away. The gnome Constable of the Order once again demands them to stop and now drop their weapons as the orc tosses a spear at him, missing but catching the poor halfling behind him. This results are the gnome sounding a very loud signal whistle and more commotion coming from behind him in the tunnel.

The smaller orc in the rear of the BA column orders his brother to "Attack the wood" (supports holding up the tunnel) as a mage from the group silences the gnomish constable with a quick sleep spell. The following few minutes are filled with ruble falling and people running and tripping as the tunnel begins to collapse. The gnome is dragged to safety as his junior attempts to slap him awake, with a bit more force than may have been necessary. The BA group makes it back to the basement and the Order troops are now at the opposite end of the tunnel. They begin digging as the guild members quickly react: Realizing that the tunnel's destination will soon be revealed, and having a bar full of witnesses above their choice is simple. The large orc moves upstairs to take his place by the front doors as his smaller brother prepared to set a fire in the cellar and instructs the others to eliminated the patrons in the bar.

The next ten minutes were gruesome, with poor drunks, barmaids, the barkeep and even the innocent ladies of the night were mercilessly slaughtered as the flames began to dance up the stairs from the cellar and consume the building.... their task being complete they quickly exit the inn and run for the safety of a back alley and a way down into the sewers... but not before one of the initiates refused to enter the sewers, and gets on the bad side of the larger of the orc brothers. As most of the group is running for safety, these two continue to argue with the end result being a quick battle... and although the elf fought bravely he was soon dropped by the orc, never to rise again as his body is lowered into the filthy tunnels and carried back to the guild...

In the meantime the Gnome Constable from the Order along with a dozen men gives up on digging and begins to try to follow any depression made in the streets by the cave in.... The going is slow but seven blocks later they notice a large glow up ahead in the direction they are heading. The brave soldiers quickly cover the three blocks to be witness to the Black Fist Inn now in flames with a crowd gathering around in awe.... After a search of the area one lone barmaid was found in a state of shock... and the investigation will continue...

Casualties: Fourteen patrons, barmaids, and the barkeep of the Black Fist,One initiate to the Burning Arm, a brave yet foolish elf (2nd pc he's lost to the guild in the same amount of weeks)

Results: The loss of the Black Fist Inn of Coops, A new member welcomed to the Burning Arm, and some alarming findings by the Order, NOTE: See the rumors post "Tarnation"

Experience: 200 xp per player (four hours good role play)

Location: Somewhere outside the borders of Khardfee

Present: Perrin Goldeneyes

Summary: This is a quick recount of the last days of Perrin, dwarven warrior and Tsar of the Burning Arm. Due to conflict within the guild, as well as the loss of his long time friend Molga the orc, Perrin leaves Coops and heads down to his homeland to meet with old allies and rethink his future.... but fate would not have it so.... on the road back he was beset by wild animals and later on by creatures of the night... he now rests in the arms of the Lady....

****************************************

Detailed Version: Perrin leaves Coops after conflict within the Burning Arm Guild. Between his hatred for the new Master and his fights with the newer members, coupled with the most recent death of his long time comrade in arms Molga the orc... the dwarf turns his back on the guild and leaves the city. His destination is his homeland of Khardfee where he plans on searching out old allies and make new friends, and one day returning to the BA to reclaim his place among the ranks of the Tsars, as well as to eliminate those who opposed him. The first few days were uneventful, the dwarf traveling alone on his mount and avoiding villages and towns.... on the fourth day his luck turned for the worse...

Riding by a small wooded area he stops his mount as the beasts becomes nervous... from a large set of bushes up ahead the sounds of snorting and scratching can be heard. A set of four wild boars make their presence known moving towards him, he yells at the animals trying to scare them away as they react by charging.... spooking his horse, causing him to drop his club and hold on else he get thrown.... A mile or so later as he calms his mount he decides to turn back and retrieve his weapon.... which he finds in the area of his last encounter. As he dismounts and goes to pick up his club he notices it is soaked in urine, the pigs must have been marking their territory.... the dwarf curses and begins kicking the club and rolling it in the grass trying to clean it off a bit when suddenly the animals return and charge the warrior.... What follows was a battle of man and mount versus crazed beasts of the woods, with Perrin able to take out three of the boars while his horse fell victim to the tusks of another.... the dwarf gathers as much meat as he can carry and heads off again on his quest, now injured and on foot...

The following night, having no luck finding a town or farmstead the dwarf makes camp for the evening only to be awakened in the night to sounds and sights which froze his blood... something straight out of the tales his grandmother us to spin... creatures of the night that seemed to have sprung to life out of his nightmares..... the undead. Before the dwarf was fully awake he is surrounded as four of the monsters rip into him, dealing severe damage with their filthy claws and biting into his exposed flesh..... he manages to stand while grabbing for his axe... kicking and screaming as he hacks at the abominations... He was almost saved by crying out for Diadra to protect him, causing the creatures to stop their attack for a moment... as one of them demanded proof of his love of the Lady he began to use his charisma and negotiation skills as never before.... having no idea how to charm the undead or convince them he tells his story of his long life of worship of the Lady of Death.... making one fatal mistake. He removed his breastplate to show a scar... where he said his God had healed him as he lay bleeding to death.... at this three of beasts pounce on Perrin clawing and biting into the dwarf.... and within moments his screams are silenced... all that can be heard in the woods is the rending of flesh and crunching of bones. Perrin now does rest in the arms of Diadra....

Treasure: None

Casualties: Perrin Goldeneyes

Lesson learned: Traveling the land of Thardferr alone is always a risk : )

((Excellent session with great role play from Perrin, down to the end with a quite dramatic ending))

Location: A cellar tavern and the sewers beneath Coops

Summary: The group met at their new location, their old haunt now lays in ashes. Lots of confusion and heated discussions. They finally make their way to the sewers to search out a safe route back to the guild hall... slaughter a family of homeless street urchins.... attacked by Giant Spiders and loose four of their members and an initiate... make it back to the hall to await further instructions.

****************************************Last night I recieved a note to get in touch with the Burning Arm Guild I should got go to the a local Inn that friday night and ask for Molga. I had heard alot about the guild and had the utmost respect for it. Finally a guild that could fit my needs.

I showed up at the bar on time and asked the sloppy orc barkeep to speak with Molga. He directed me to the back of the guild. I knocked on a door and was asked to enter. Four unsavory fellows greeted me and told me to have a seat. Little did I know I would not really get to know them well. I was anxious and nervous for what they called a test. They told me there would be others so I waited. Finally a crazy man appeared calling himself a magicaian. He irratated me from the start and was allowed to insult the four men and yell and scream. I began to loose some respect for the guild members present. I was surprise that such behavior was allowed. An big man and a halfling then came in saying they were brothers looking for Molga. They were also ready to take the test. Finally A large Orc came in and instructed us all to follow.

We made our way down a hallway and into the basement. We could here a lot of noise and finally came to a door. We were greeted by a gnome and many other orc's digging. They had opened a new tunnel into the sewer. We were about to enter when a comotion came from the tavern. Someone was yelling hello. Some poor sod, a dwarf, tried to sneak up on us and got pounded by the big orc. One shot and he was almost out. He explained that he was here for the test. I for one would have dropped him there for not following instructions but he was allowed to live. I think he called himself....

We made our way into the tunnel and walked for what seemed hours. Finally the halfling spotted four men running away down the tunnel. The large orc that lead the party yelled. " Come on all elves follow me". Then the large orc dashed down the tunnel. An elf named Xal and another name crinton ran after him. I quickly joined them. As we ran we came upon 4 humans. The orc threw some darts and took one down. Crinton and I quickly followed with out bows and two more fell. The last turned and screamed. It was a woman. Xal missed with his daggers and the orc scremed. "do not let her escape" I shoot two more arrows. SHe dropped. We examined the bodies. A man and wife with two children. Oh well they should not of been hanging in the sewers at night.

We continue on another 6 blocks or so when suddenley the orc and xal in front jumped back. Giant spider fell from the ceiling. The orc rolled away but Xal was jumped on and bit. He went in to convolsions obviously poisioned. 5 more spiders came down the walls. At that time the stupid magacian which was yelling when we came in to the bar cast a sleep spell. THe idiot put the orc in the front of our group asleep. Next Hert swung at a spider and slashed it. The spider returned the attack but
missed. As the orc fell to the ground in a slumber a 4th spider devoured him. A fifth spider went after crinton. The spider hit and down went crinton. THis was getting to dangerous. I began to shake and was ready to flee. Another member turned and ran away. The orc in the back yelled. "get out of here you fools. RUN". At that moment the crazy mage got bit and fell into the muck. HMPF good riddens to him. Two others turned and ran barely avoiding the fangs of another spider. I looked at the fallen men. Oh well nothing I can do but die with them. I turned and ran down the hall. As I ran I saw hert try and pull crinton to safty. Two spiders turned on him as the pulled the man away and layed him out. We returned to the guild after losing the big orc, an elf named Xal, an elf named Crintion, a crazy mage and a man called hert. I realized then that this guild was a dangerous crew to be with. However, from the start of the night I could see these members were in trouble. They were unprofessional and that cost many of them thier lives. I will have to be wary who in the guild I walk with.

OOC: Nobody ever said elves were perfect spellers with a great memory : ) But thanks elf, good to see the session from another prospective.

Present were: Members Xalgath, Crinos, Hert, and another along with the Brothers Grihmm. Also new initiates EB Minion and five others.

Casualties: the larger of the orc brothers, Xal, Crinos, Hert, and EB Minion and a family of four homeless citizens of Coops.

Results: The group was finally able to establish a safe route from the Dog's Breath to the guild hall, although not without heavy losses.

XP: 100/level/hour, four hour session, excellent role play with events that the survivors will be sure not to forget

Lesson for tonight: Exploring abandonned sewer tunnels under the streets of the city on a cold misty night can be quite exciting : )

Location: Coopersville

Present: BA NPC, one current member, and three initiates

Summary: The three initiates met at the preset locasion, were greeted by two members of the guild. The mission for the night was to eliminate an associate of a minor rival guild that has become a thorn in the side of the Burning Arm as of late.... trip through the sewers... up to the streets... sneak into the marks house... murder.. mayhem... fire... flee into the safety of the pipes...
****************************************

Long version in the words of a guild member present:

The evening started lovely enough. 3 people just happened to knock on a back room door of a tavern. An elf and a gnome just happened to be sitting inside. I poured the new initiates some ale and we shared pleasantries, along with a nice toast from the gnome offering good luck for the night. The gnome explained that the mission was to kill a man and burn everything involved. Traveling to the back of the inn the initiates were a bit anxious and nervous. especially when the big rock was opened and they moved into the darkness.
The gnome lit a lamp for the 2 humans and told them to hold it. The elves steered clear of the light to keep infra. After walking for what seems like hours, we approached a ladder and climbed out to the surface. The party seemed to be working well together so far. The party made their way to their target. A house with a double set of doors out front. As a group of common people walked by, the party was quick to blend with the shadows. The group passed by unaware of the parties presence and the gnome quickly crossed the street. Pulling a small package from his cloak he produced a set of iron picks and hooks. Failing on the first door he quickly moves to the second door. One of the initiates watching all the while entranced by the gnomes skilled fingers. The humans and other elf keeping watch behind them.
The gnome clicks open the door and the party moves in. The human fighter bumps into a chair and knocking it over. Berry quickly shuts and locks the door as the party moves up the stairs. A human man stands in the hallway terrified. He quickly runs back into the bedroom and shuts and locks the door. The warrior tries bashing the door in but fails. The gnome quickly goes to work on the lock as I ran back down the stairs and out the door cutting of retreat out the window.
The lock clicks open as the man inside swings at the gnome. His sword is quickly parried by the sword of an initiate however and they begin to exchange blows. They women inside is hushed by a "bit of magical coaxing" from the elf out in the alley. She begins to climb out the window as another initiate throws 2 daggers at her. The gnome and humans seem to handle the man easy enough.
The women convinces her children it is best to keep quiet and climb out the window to the guild member's safely waiting arms. The dagger thrower begins following the women out the window as the other human runs down the stairs to capture them. The elf in the alley tells the elf climbing out the window to finish the man off. As the man is slain and torches r laid amongst the broken bottles of oil. The children's throats r cut and the women is taken prisoner with a sack about her head.
Shouts of fire and the city watch r quickly on their way to the house as the Party rushes into the alley carrying the corpses of 2 dead children and pulling a crying women along. They get back to the grate and climb down. A couple of OOS approach the grate just as it is is closed. Telling the party to halt as the party quickly disperses in opposite directions. A clever initiate soaks the ladder in oil and drops a torch at it's base before turning to make her escape back to the guild hall.
The rest of the trip goes fairly uneventful. As they enter the guild hall they Sit for a few moments gathering their breaths. The mage takes her prisoner and locks her away for future use. The gnome offers the corpses as present for our chilly little friend by the name of Sgt. T.

(Thanks for ticket elf)

Casualties: One unlucky merchant supposedly associated with the "Hand", a minor guild who has recently become the focus of the BA, as well as his two children. With his wife being taken as a prisoner of the guild.

Results: Three new member welcomed into the guild, another fire in the city of Coops, and the OOS nearly catching the fleeing culprits.

Location: a small village along the Southern border of Aldred

Present: Achmed, Eiji Ralen, Emerson Grainger, Gathean, Tarov, and Thragnar.

Summary: Group assembled in local tavern, not knowing each other, and each having different reasons for being there... greetings... tension... insults... Finally the gnome caravan master shows up, along with the goblin funding the trip... every one is introduced and as they are awaiting the rest to show they take in the sights and wonders of a traveling carnival... tricks, creatures, illusions... and they're off, ready to assist this caravan in delivering goods to the outlying border towns.
****************************************

Longer version: The group of adventures that have been called, drawn, or hired assemble at a small tavern in a southern border town in Aldred. The greetings are somewhat awkward, many of them not trusting or caring for the mannerisms of the others. The party seems to be a mix of everything from Paladins, to Order scouts, to adventuring rogues, to a couple Priests... dwarves, humans, and elves.

Soon a gnome walks through the door carrying an armful of charts and scrolls, directs the men to a large table that has been prepared and welcomes everyone aboard. Promising great rewards and the chance of adventure into the parts of this land that few will ever see. A goblin businessman makes his entrance later and informs the gathering that he will be offering an added bonus for each wagon that returns safely. At this the men are encouraged to enjoy the feast as well as to take in the sights of a traveling carnival that has taken up temporary residence in a large field next to the village.

The group seperates, some resting, some praying to their gods, and others taking advantage of the event and taking in the wonders of the show... entertainers, wild beasts, colorful tents and exotic foods. The two highlights of the day came when a young priest along with his newly met Paladin friend paid admition to be scared out of their wits by a caged beast, with the body of a bear and the head of a vicious owl. The creature was enraged and charged the bars, screeching cut the air and could be heard for miles as the creature attempted to escape and reak havoc on the spectators... luckily the bars held.

Outside one of the elves was mesmorized by the site of a naked woman running towards him and jumping into his arms... as she vanished, revealing a small gnome rolling on the grass laughing. The elf, angry at first, saw a chance here for some fun and paid generously for the mage to cast his magics and make an image of the owl beasts appear as if escaped.. charging the Paladin and priest. What followed was pure chaos with the phantasm terrifying the crowd as well as the two scapegoats... a quick response with the mighty Paladin fumbling and losing his sword as a few of the party attacks the thing as it too vanishes... Leaving the elf laughing hard enough to nearly split his side...

As the day passed on, a chill wind begins to blow, and the caravan sets off to it's first destination... as a woman on horseback is seen approaching at top speed...

Casualties: the Paladin's pride, and many a pitcher of ale, as well as a poor dart board in the tavern. Also an innocent tree that was used for sparring practice.

Treasure: None except for what one of the rogues managed to aquire.

Experience: 75xp/level/hour Three hour session. Excellent role playing meet and greet session. Each pc playing his character as and individual with prejudices... social graces and flaws... as well as a lot of distrust among the strangers.

Longer version:

This is the conclusion of the Spider session,in the word's of an elf known only as "Shadow"...

Well,it started out at the guild house, all of us that were going were there. The Guild master had a few things that needed done and we were the ones to do it,Brave souls that were voulentering for this. But still it had to be done.

We set off with Kerl and his two guards and the group, first thing we done was get some oil and torches to keep the beasts at bay,for it was said they liked fire not.We went down into the bowles of the guild and entered the sewers, with the Orcs and I leading the way,the rest followed at a distance for the fire from the torches would hamper our night sight. We went along for a ways till Kerl said we had come to the place that we
last encountered the beasts, and stoped to inspect the aera. The tunnles split here and one went right and the other left.I took two of the new ones with me and Kerl and his guards went the other.

We had not went far into the left one when we heard the woosh of fire and blades and yelling from the right passage. And to my supprise my two companions went running tword the sounds of the fighting,(some are not so smart). I followed them carefully and came upon the orcs holding four of the beasts at bay with fire.we tried to scare them off with the fire, but they were not afraid of it,Kerl got upset by this and threw darts at one and almost killed it out right, but they kept trieing the fire. Finally I decided that enough was enough,But before I could do anything the rear guard threw fire at the back,we had company there as well now.(talk about the rock and a hard
place!!)we all knew we were not going to last like this so we attacked the beasts. the ones in the rear were holding them and the orcs and I went forward,we removed the beasts that were infront of us and advanced we came upon a place in the passage wall that had fallen in and I looked in it and seen that this was the nest, and steped back and told Kerl that we were gonna
burn it out.

We chucked five flasks of oil in it and I was going to throw a torch when two of the buggers jumped out at the Orc and I.They attacked us,missing me by a long shot and just bearly missing Kerl,we countered with steel and heart and some bit of luck and droped them.I told Kerl to move back and with no more interuptions threw the torch in.But as I did,I heard a Voice in there,I almost felt sorry for the poor bastard in there, but I thought it might be a better death than eaten alive by these things. After I threw the torch I ran back to the others and got down and felt the flames rage and the screams from the soul in his own private hell, were heard from the opening.and then we took care of the ones at the back. After that died down Kerl went to look into the opening and I tossed three more flasks in,he wondered if we need to fire it again, and I think he had his answer,so we did.and after it died down again,we searched the place for nything of value to us,and found gold and silver and a few other things as well.

We loaded all we could carry and the bodies as well, and headed back to the guild hall and with Kerl and the other and I leading we came upon a few others down here in this place.Three travelers were in that group, with two Orc guards as well, two gnomes and a female that I recnoized from the guild.I spoke to them first and they acted like they were ok at first, but the Orc guard let something slip and was shut up by one of the Gnomes.but I acted like it was ok.After the plesanteries were done the steped aside and we were passing them when Kerl went for the Orcs and the fight was on then,The female attack them from behind and the orcs and I from the front and after a breif scrmish we won it,with a gnome as prisoner for the Guild Master to question we went home.

Casualties: One of the orc npc's, three spiders, Crinos (again), and a gnome and orc from another party.

Treasure: Large amount of gold, silver, a couple gems, and a fine ivory statue of an elven warrior... plus various weapons, equipment, and more bodies for the experiments.

Experience: Excellent role play and completion of mission. 100xp/lvl/hr

Longer version in the words of a Paladin:

Sir Gatheian Bluestream’s Journal

Date 729 Southern Aldred

After leaving the quaint little village behind, we head towards Waysend in Southern Aldred. I asked my employer, Packrat, to please tell me where we were headed after we departed Waysend. He informed me that we would be heading to Elidar. This is most unfortunate indeed. The land is war-torn and outsiders will be looked on with suspicion and hatred. Add on to this the fact that several of my companions are elves and you have quite an interesting situation. The elves in my group did not go to the aid of their kin when the war broke out. What is worse to an elf: an outsider or a traitor? I tried to make Packrat understand this but alas I failed.

We found an adequate campsite and settled in for a comfortable night. I made my evening prayers. When I finished, the smell of coffee filled the air. Ahhh…coffee!! One of the few things I take pleasure in drinking. I walked over to the gnome drivers and asked for a drink. They were more than happy to give me some; however, I had to tell a story in exchange! These little fellows will give nothing for free, hah! I thought through my repertoire of stories and came to one of my favorites, “The Saga of the Blue Goat.” This is the story of how I became nobility. I am sure many thought I was telling this story to boast of my deeds. How wrong these wicked people are! I would never do such a thing. The Creator has no room for pride in one of his servants. Mine was long ago defeated. I told this story because it holds a lesson for us all. Alas, I failed to finish because Drac the Dishonorable slapped ME! How dare he lay his hands on me! If I had done some great wrong then it would be different. Raising ones voice in camp does not fall under that category. Why would just one person raise his voice in camp? You would think that other shouts would follow or that there would be commotion, but no, none of that occurred. So, wouldn’t it stand to reason that it was a meaningless shout. Apparently not to my wise friend. My anger got the best of me and I said something that I regret. I will pray diligently over the matter before I go to bed. These people bring out the worse in me. I am jovial person, but being around these brutes has lowered my spirits. This has been a long day. I fear that I will regret agreeing to go on this mission; but, I most go where The Creator wills. What is the purpose of this my lord?! What am I doing here?! My heart is much troubled. I must pray…..

Date 729 Southern Aldred

Another has joined our group. She came into camp yester eve, but I did not see her until today! How rude of me. I introduced myself while Packrat and his goblin associate sold some of their goods to the merchants of Waysend. Her name is Adrianna d’Montarac. The lass has red hair and beautiful green eyes. Oh how I wish her spirit was as beautiful! The presence of evil resides in her as it does in many that I travel with. I am glad to have Achmed around. He seems to be one of the few I can get along with. The lass is a friend of the unknown dwarf. She happily follows his orders. The dwarf is a sour, mean-hearted looking fellow. If that was not enough, he continually smells of liquor. He DISGUSTS me. A friend of his is not a friend to me. I feel like I must continually watch my back. It hurts me to say that I can trust few of my companions. In battle it is a must. Who will try to kill me then: a so-called friend or foe? Enough rambling. I must rest…

Date 729 Southern Aldred

What horrible dreams I have had this night! Evil surrounded me. It purred over me like a rushing flood. I cannot describe the doom I felt, nor do I wish to. Good-hearted Achmed has informed me that he also had such a dream. We both fear that this evil is very close to us. Maybe it is within some of the cargo we protect? Achmed and I will search the cargo….

I write these words with a heavy pen and sad heart. This day has seen much blood shed. As we traveled along, we were attacked by huge wild cats. They quickly snatched two gnome drivers and then attacked Emerson and Tarov. Emerson was clawed by one of the cats and was out of action before anyone could help. I urged my steed forward and charged the nearest cat I could find. I…missed…and missed again. I am ashamed of my actions this day. Because of my poor performance lives were lost. Oh, how the Creator teaches humility! Thanks be to the Creator that the brave Tarov stood his ground against these foul beast. However, Emerson did not. Achmed bravely risked his life to heal him but it did little. Then one of the feral beast grabbed Emerson and dashed off. I raced after the blasted thing and as I did so someone fired an arrow into it. I assume Tarov made the shot to down the beast since the other archers could only manage to hit poor Emerson. Why did they fire?! They fired en masse into a group! Enough. I have been too angery of late. I jumped quickly off of my horse and tried to aid Emerson. He was mangled beyond belief. Blood flowed freely from every inch of his body. I called upon the Creator to channel his power through me to Emerson. He heard my plea but the healing power did nothing. What have I done Lord!? I am not worthy to be called one of your own! I failed a comrade in battle. I didn’t know him well and for this I am greatly saddened. Each soul has its own uniqueness and qualities. I didn’t take the time to see his. I am much grieved. Much more so than anyone else in this group! He and the others that died might as well have been slaughtered cattle to them! They show no mourning over the most precious of gifts that the Creator has bestowed upon us. Life! I am beginning to understand the evil in my dream. Maybe it is the evil in those around me that wishes to suffocate me. They don’t even care to give the man a warriors burial! I hoisted Emerson onto my horse and awaited a proper moment to bury him. I lead the horse on foot. I cannot even think while I am doing this. My body is numb. It is as if some part of me is gone. I don’t notice the others starring at me until Adrianna asks me to leave Emerson! Leave Emerson! I have never left a companion on the field of battle and never will. It seems they fear the blood over me and Emerson will bring the cats back. Damn the cats!! Forgive me Creator of my words. We have finally settled in for camp. I needed something flammable to burn Emerson with. There is no wood in this desolate land so I must settle for alcohol. Forgive Emerson. You deserve better. The evil goblin was kind enough to give me some. There is good in everyone. Even the evil ones. Thank you my god for teaching me this. I am fixing to burn Emerson. He is now with the Creator in a much safer place. May he rest in eternal peace….

Short sidetrek the night the caravan stops:

Present: Tarov

Summary: Wagons stop... clouds roll in... two of the elves decide to go on a scouting mission... strange lightning storm... plans change..

****************************************

In the words of Tarov the elf:

Tarov walks up to Achemd. "Can you please lend me the aid of your healing"
Achmed agrees and shortly after Tarov fells much better. He then agrees to go on a scouting trip with Drak to see what is developing around them. They talk to Pakrat first. Pakrat agrees that the scouting would be useful but will not spare any men. As the discussion goes on a large ball of lighting fills the sky and strikes a nearby hillside.
"What the hell is that" Screams tarov
"No idea my boy..." answers Pakrat as they both spin around and stare.
Just moments after that a second ball hits the same exact spot.
"What is going on?"
THe gnome just shrugs as he stares.
"Pakrat get you spyglass......."
The gnome nods and runs up to the wagon searching through his stuff. Another ball of lighting stikes the hillside. The gnome grabs the glass and thunders down the wagon sliping and nearly falling. "That damn step"
Tarov grabs the glass and stares at the hillside. He can make out movement and the lighting striking something. He jumps on the wagon for a better angle. This time he sees more. A large group of creatures....hundreds of them are scampering over the hillside. One by one the lighting is picking them off....almost as if it is feeding one them. "By the gods"
At that moment the wind picks up and the rain starts to fall. Tarov becomes unstable on the wagon and fearing a repeat of the horse falling jumps down.
"Take cover" Screams Pakrat and jumps under the wagon. Tarov is close behind him.
"I guess we can forget about that scouting tonight"

Long Version:

Jornal of a BA member:

Journal entry for friday night:

It was an initiate test.. same as always. meet at the new tavern (I really miss the black fist.... at least it had good ale), new intitiate comes through... we show him the ropes.. we're done... 'cept this initiate was one of those damn mages. He seemed to know all about me, and all he wanted to talk about was EB Minion. I shut the man up quickly, but after awhile, he yapped some more.

We went through the sewers for awhile, but then, through the grating, we heard a "STOP! WHO WONDERS ABOUT THE SEWERS AT THIS TIME OF NIGHT?!" when we said nothing, and hid, a couple crossbow bolts were fired, missing completely. then a torch came down. The orc quickly stomped it out, but then they threw oil, and the sparks were enough to light it... we ran past, and I got my arse burnt a little... hurt like hell.. Any way we stopped at an intersection, and hid in there, following the orc's lead. That was a big mistake...

We were up against four dwarves, the orc and mage fought them, and managed to bring down one, but were soon overpowered. The mage fell, and the orc soon followed. One of the members took a couple of hits, and ran like hell, like we should have done in the first place. I ran as well, annd we quickly outdistanced the dwarves.

We came upon an area we did not recognize, and soon a whole load of scorpion like creatures rose from the muck. They attacked us, but missed badly. We turned and ran, and I heard one's clicking mandagles barely miss my leg...

When we came to a grate, there was no ladder and we had to climb... I slipped, and was about to fall, when the oddest thing happened.... I STUCK too the wall.. like a spider. I crawled up, past the great, and I was sticking to the cieling. My comrade had the funniest expression on his face... I suddenly realized it might not last forever, so I climbed back down, and when I got to the grate, I climbed through... but my hands would not come off... I ripped them off through shere strength and continued. We hid out in an alley for awhile, and returned to the Dogs Breath later.... that's it... now I must go to a meeting The Master has called...

Casualties: One OOS soldier, two more injured, one BA member and one initiate captured
