Session 88

Dm Prophet

Title: Another naked thief

Active Players: Payton, Rumiko, Xsher, Axion Kivor NPC Snot-Flinger

Location: undercity Sorrowtown, Khardfee

Short version: finding the undercity they make plans on what to do next.

Long Version: Finding the undercity the group have to dodge being seen from traffic since of everyone there Payton is the only one that doesn't care about being seen. Finding a old door the group force there way inside to fond a bad smelling rubbage pile, in the middle of the room is a cart marked as a pork hualer what they find inside wasn't any side of bacon. bodies, most dwarven except were found they were all dead, but on second look one isn't dead, only wounded and was left for dead. Currently naked the group give him the third degree and might of scared him a bit. Finally Snot gives up some clothes for the poor guy. meanwhile Xsher swears he saw a leaf move in the far corner and payton desides to investigate this 'moving leaf' what they find was less then plesent. a Giant mont of some sort of plant attack Payton grabbing him in its tenticals and bitting down hard. The group head in for action attacking the beast Snot gives the new guy some armor and a knife to help out but he does little except watch in awe. Payton disapears reaprearing by Snot letting the beast find Rumiko as its next victem. The fight seemed short after that with a few good swings from Thrain to take down the beast. Afterwards the group rests for a few more minutes still trying to figure out a way to get everyone into the city. Axion Kivor says he went exploring some tunnels near by when some dwarves knocked him out, next thing he remebers is being here. now for getting going. The only idea they have is to use the meat wagon to cart everyone around, maybe a darkness spell of some kind to block any infravision that the dwarves use. Axion Kivor will have to go with them since leaving him here wouldn't do anygood except maybe he will be caught and will spill the beens on who he saw. So with an extra person in the party they still looked for a plan of attack. Resting Payton seems better after a cure disease was called apon him. The rest of the group tried to get as comfortable as possible being in a garbage heap with dead bodies.

High Points: New member Axion Kivor will probly be a good guy to have around.

Low Points: Wagon full of bodies can't be good.

Dm Prophet

Title: All Hail the Thief King

Active Players: Payton, Rumiko, Xsher, Aethir NPC Snot-Flinger

Location: undercity Sorrowtown, Khardfee

Short version: Finding yet another new player the group head out to find the Thief King

Long Version: When last we left our brave adventureres they have travieled into the undercity of Sorrowtown, hiding out in a garbage bay where things eat the dead. There they meet up with a gnome mage named Aethir who has been running from the guards. sayign all he wanted to do was explore the Dwarven undercity. He tells he was pretending to be a dwarf to get excess for his an illusionist. The group desides that he should come too since if left here he might be discovered and blab about who he also saw down here. So now hiding in a meat cart, and casting darkness on it, the group not so silently made thier way into the city looking for the thieves guild and eventally to a map of the underdark. After getting lost several times and a few disturbing looks from dwarf passer-bys (concidering that a squeeky globe of inpenitrable darkness fallowed thrain and payton) They found a tavern and with the group waiting outside Thrain and Payton stroll in for a peek. What they found was a thieves front tavern who didn't really like a 'parade' of dwarves coming in unannoced. Payton seemed to have things under control when the rest of the group is found out and taking under the guard of 20 odd dwarves with crossbows. Our new found friend Aethir and Xsher try to explain that they were doing nothing else but sleeping in the cart together. We all knew Xsher liked to give cavity searches but the gnome didn't seem to mind walking a little funny.

The group gets escorted with Thrain gripping his axe tightly into a back room where they find no one else but the Thief King. A dead skeleton on a golden throne, Beside that they have a another suprise. Darkglade chained to the floor Although not naked (sorry Snot) The bartender tells the group that the thief king is more of an icon for them then it is a leader. The group are getting tired of this when he tells them him story.

The lich queen had payed them great mounds of money to get rid of the Hire Flames and Darkglade was to be the bait something she didn't like hearing. But he desided that he didn't ike taking orders from the Sythian spit they are so he said that if they swear on something holy that they will not tell of this place that they can leave. Everyone did starting with Payton and ending with Thrain reluctently. The thief king (a barkeep) desided that he was to give them the map since he would just like to see the look on the lich queens face when we stop her dead (LOL) in Aldred. The group fallow him into a great vualt where he gets the map, The thief king does say that for the kindness and to keep us quiet he will give us a trinket to help us on our way. With this plans start to hatch within the group of what to do next.

High Points: New member Aethir will probly be a good guy to have around. (also finally catching up all the Trip tickets for Prophet.)

Low Points: Having 60 odd men with crossbows guarding them give the group little choice in the matters.

Title: Barkeeps Gifts

Short version: Look at the long version its not to long

Long Version: The group tests their new toys that are handed out then take a trip to the smithys before going to a nice comfy room to get some sleep before leaving to go on thier quest. Heading out the barkeep and guild leader seems happy to see them go, they take the back way. A tunnel that is supose to be full of something that is called the creeping death the group figures more poo monsters what they find is high ceilings with stlagmites dust covered floors with wierd markings, and a black puddle, the pudding oozes closer on the group and as everyone figures out how to fight it thats where we leave our fellow adventurers

Title: Pudding Dessert

Location: undercity Sorrowtown, Khardfee

Short version: A fight brakes out with the puddle

Long Version: The brave adventurers trying to leave the underdark of the city of Sorrowtown take the back roads and in doing so they cross paths with what looks like a giant pudding not wanting to go near such a thing the group starts chucking items at it but in silvanus's haste to do so he forget that hes a blademaster not a rock chucker and something comes over him or acually leaves him as he throws his first stone. The fight rages Payton has his clothes beard and posessions melted off thats when Darkglade levitates the pudding with a spell and the now fallen blademaster slices it in two, make two puddles of ooze trying to attack. Finally Payton makes himself useful and casts a stone shape spell incasing the glob in a shell of rock. Thrain in the meanwhile finds a bolder up the tunnel and starts to pick up speed and lets it creen down the tunnel smashing Paytons cell and as the bolder continues the puddings get stuck to the bolder as it smashes into a wall Darkglade acts with a multi-cocktail but she drops it setting her feet on fire. Aethir wishes to help Darkglade but ends up crashing into her plowing them into a pile on the flaming floor. Payton summons wate r to put out the flames while it did put out the flames on darkglade and now Aethir it spred the flaming oil around causeing others to jump from its path, the puddings are finally burned and bashed by the time they die. leaving the group tired half melted and cranky. Rumiko finds a way into a side tunnel and Darkglade turning into a raven fallows The group meets up with Rumiko at a stone door where she opens it to find the nights sky several in the group are happy to see that and to hear the bugs of the night, we leave off with everyone around a fire talking of what is next

High Points: Loony antics of the group while killing off a big monster

Title: Tinker on the Tinkerer

Short version: payton goes to his temple and finds out some stuff

Long Version: Payton leaves the group after a quick rest he travils from the mountain side to Sorrowtown where he has found out Thrain suposivly has been running amuck knowing that it isn't the dwarven warrior he continues on to the temple thinking ti rumors. At the temple of Telk he realizes a few things, it seems the last few times he has tried to pray for his spells Telk had been reluctent to give him what he wished for, perplexed with this Payton had decided to come to the temple. Once there he found out that there was a minor power stuggle among the gods and some had shuffled thier powers and possition in the grander scheme of things he was told that Telk wished to bestow different powers onto his clergery afterwards and that a machine was made to tranfer the powers. It seems one of the High Tinkerers had a dream about the entire thing a few nights back and that first thing in the morning he started to build, he didn't even know what it was until his hands stoped working only yesterday. Already The priesthood had sent the plans via writing onto the blank slate on the alter, Temples are creating them everywhere and it has been written in the manual forever. He was then told to strip his mind of previosly memorized spells and to walk into the machine. Payton complies and walks in. To preform the transfiguration he must place his hands on teh symbols inside the machine strangly enough the marking on his hand fits perfectly with the gear that is displayed on the machine. As he does so an experiance he wishes would never end happend, Telk was there he could feel the heat from his workshop and he was made anew. I New Tinkerer came out the other side of the machine more complete it seems. We leave off with Payton getting his stuff and finding out someone has been impersonating him as well as Thrain he'll have to look into it when he gets back.

Title: New people and Old habits

Active Players: Payton Xsher, Rumiko, Thrain, Silvanus, Darkglade, RavenNM (new) NPC Snot

Location: Sorrowtown, Khardfee heading for Durlocks Mountain

Short version: The group with Rumikon and Darkglade taking a detour head for Durlock mountain.

Long Version: The group wake in the morning to find Payton still gone, to Sorrowtown without anyone to put his peg down the group is confused as to which way to go, as Darkglade and Rumiko deside to go to Sorrowtown for suplies Thrain decides to take the rest south to the base of Durlocks mountain and they will meet up there. Just as everyone seperates payton rolls up and fallows with Thrain and the group south, two brand-new war pigs leading the wagon instead of his pony Lucky. "No place in the deepdark for a horse." says Payton As the two sperate thier tails are told differently
Rumikos and Darkglades: Rumiko and Dark go into Sorrowtown looking for some 'suplies' Rumiko buys a rob to cover her armor and now looking like an umbering Hulk Dark within her white robes looks like a Priestess of Celenia and the enter a shop looking for something to 'aquire' some kit While in one shop Darkglade wishes to buy something as Rumiko wamps the guy on the back of the head with her Hilt of the sword and while Darkglade in a form of a dwarven guard stands watch Rumiko grabs all she can including a safe she can't open in the back room. Darkglade and Rumiko run out of the city with a alarm singing for them in the backgroup they head south to find the group.
Meanwhile the group has picked up another stragler, this one named Raven is a poor farmer that has turned to adventureing to help his family pay the bills, The found him shadowing the group and Snot pinned him to a tree when he heard him 'sneaking' up on them with a explination quickly spewing out he goes threw introductions and is welcomed to the group with skeptic open-arms With the group traviling a puffing Darkglade and Rumiko show up running Rumiko with a limp each without suplies, or so the group thinks.

Title:

Active Players: Payton, Aethir, Thrain, Rumiko, Darkglade, Xsher and NPC Snot

Location: Durlocks Mountain

Short version: The group make it to the mountains and in they go.

Long Version: The group watch the sun lowering into the rest of the mountain range and decide rest is in order while Payton reads his tome, and the group rest Darkglade is searching threw her posessions and finds the stranges item, it is a small castle made of marble or maybe onyx she found it when everyone was in the spider cave and forgotten about it. She knows it is magical but didn;t know how so she does the only thing a sorceress would do...she said the word on the statue out loud. With the ground shaking the tower springs to life, knocking Payton and Thrain off thier feet.Everyone is egar to go inside the castle except Payton who doesn't like the castle so he waits outside. Rumiko and Darkglade are stumped on the markings of the castle and ask Payton to come look inside, as he does he first notices the marking of a lunar partern on the floor, with some question asked he figures that the castle itself has magical powers that are connected by the lunar cycle. As they leave the tower and it shinks back to Darkglades hands Payton is releaved that nothing else hapends as it shinks and the group moves on towards the cavern. The night is spent with a small fire and the group continues early the next day. The reach Durlocks castle by mid-day the resent fight with the dragon still fresh in the minds of Rumiko Thrain and Payton. The serach the cave where the dragon died finding only bones and the smell of lizard, when out of the pools of water in the back comes giant slugs.

The slugs came out of the water the ooze from thier bodies covering the pail surface of thier body the skin looks to be grey and smooth giving off a shine with the slugs moving forward in the light coming towards the small group of would-be heros. Thrain the first to react charged with his sword as Payton Xsher and Darkglade cover with the beginnings of a casting. Silvanus the fallen Bladewarrior charges behind Thrain and burries his sword along side Thrain into the first victim of slugs slim covering the ground and soon axe and sword. Meanwhile Rumiko moves into the shadows becoming worse then a ghost as she slides from one shadow to the next moving behind the last of the slugs thats when the first thing went wrong, Xsher tosses his torch at the first giant slug and while doing so he gets the last of the words off of his spell ignites the tourch into a fireball that blinds all around him. Payton and Thrain the steady dwarves arn't effected but Rumiko caught up in her sneeking attack missed the arcane words and did not look away in time, as well as Darkglade who also was buisy missed the spell and goes blind, she backpeddles out of the way of the aproching slugs as Silvanus crys out "I can't see!" The when all is chaotic Snotflinger makes his move fire from the darkness dagger after dagger from both his hands they stab into a slug causing ooze and blood to mix on the cavern floor A screech of the slug sends a singal to others and moive slugs join the fray moving out of the pools of black water in the back. Payton finally fires off his spells but to everyones suprise it has no effect on slugs or allies, he points his hand to his feet and 20 small items mold from the ground into aq small stack of what looks like daggers, he scoops them up into his hands and soom they disapear into his beard. Thrain in the meantime has waded into the slugs manouvering in and out of range finally finding a opening he whales on it landing two solid blows with his axe chopping deep into a black slug. Snot moves in with a sword chopping the next of the slugs to try to come forward as Xsher makes a prayer and the group is filled with the force of Anthor giving each a boon from Xshers god making thier hits fly truer and thier moves swifter. Now it was Paytons turn to fire daggers two fly threw the air into the first of the two hit home doing damage to a green slug and as the beast rears up a second dagger hits home in the underbelly as Silvanus Rumiko and Darkglade still blink stars from thier eyes Snot screams as a slug slimes him with its acidic ooze, cause the golbin to scream in pain and fear. He falls back with now most of the group causing only a blind Silvanus and toughed dwarf Thrain to go hand to hand with the beasts. Thats when a slug slimes Thrains back as he blocks another attack. Finally everyone shakes thier heads of the last of the stars of light from Xshers Ill planned spell thats when Darkglade finally gets her first spell off fireing energy bolt after bolt into a slug causing it to squeel, Silvanus was next to get a hit thrusting his once enchanted sword deep into the slug twisting as he pulls out doing move damage. Thrain fallows up beside the bladewarrior with two quick chops of his axe not even giving the slug a chance to move or try to squeel. Rumiko who in the meantime had been sualking in the shadows comes out swinging but misses as Xsher annonces he is about to cast another spell. Rumiko is furious but she tries to dive back into the shadows before she is seen again and as Thrain gets hit again he casts causing the wounds on Thrains bitmarks to close up. Paytons casts yet another spell causing snots embedded daggers to glow red but as he does, the slug guesses it is Paytons fault and fires a sheet of acid at Payton again his dwarven sturdyness comes into effect as the acid only burns away the skin of a few places of his beard making him cring at the pain, Darkglade watches as she prepares aother spell fireing again another trio of energy blasts into the back making it twist with pain. Payton then fires a few more daggers into the front. Snot takes Thrains back and starts attacking the slug trying to attack him from the back, slicing a clean chunk with his long sword the goblins teeth glisen with a smile as a peace of slug flesh flys away. Silvanus fights to the side of both making a small circle where they fight off the giant slugs chopping again with his own sword cutting deeply into yet another of the four slugs, squeels from the grey slug are heard as the now red hot daggers burn its way into his skin causing it to trash and roll trying to dislodge the smoldering objects thats when Payton got a close hit, the acid corsed towards him only to fall ten feet short of Payton. With the slug attacking Payton Rumiko charges out of the darkness giving a yell she chops down on her target slicing the slug clean in half takeing its life. Thrain fallows up with his own kill slicing the belly of another slug letting its intestines spill out across the already slippry ground while pulling out of the fallen slug Thrains act continues in the arc and hits another slug with the luck of dwarf digging his axe deep into the next one while this happends Thrain slams his shield into the giant creature to free his axe doing yet more damage. The slug then turns looking for a target as the axe is pulled free, he finds Silvanus and bites down cuaseing a small gash to form on his shoulder the fallen bladewarrior grunts and fights back hitting the same slug with a piercing blow stabbing his sword into the side of the slug. Xsher seeing an easy target swings his staff expecting it to connect only to find that the slugs slimy exertior meet his staff making it slide off and Xsher left with a strained rist from the unexpected miss. Meanwhile Rumiko has shrunken back into the shadows and manouver around the slug, she then runs out trying to anal prode the beast but the slime trail is to much for even the dexterity of the thief to hold her ground and she slides on it just missing her expected target as she slides by Thrain comes to Rumikos aid chopping his way threw hitting a slug on both sides with first a backhanded chop then a full swing hitting two slugs on wither side of him, he then piledrives one with his shield hoping to give Rumiko time to excape. Snot then fires two daggers into a beast flinging them over Silvanus's head to land solidly into the hide of a beast now screeching as glowing red daggers burn holes in its side, the wounds take on the smell of escargo. The heat and the damage from the daggers Payton threws drops the beast with a final squeel, and smokes pours out of the holes of the dead slug. Again a slug attacks SIlvanus hitting another minor blow but all know that enough small bits can fall a man as fast as any sword and Silvanus is beginning to become weak so the group rallies to his aid attacking the beast that attacked him, Xsher reaches there first hitting the slug with his staff squarly across its body, but still no effect comes to the beast for the slug has no bones to brake with such a weapon. Thrain, RUmiko and snot all come running Snot fireing his daggers wide and Rumiko sideing again on the slime, but sturdy Thrain lets lose a wack with his axe slamming the beast into the ground with the punishing blow again he slams his axe down and again the slug has no chance of getting up, thats when Payton comes with a spell, with the last word of the casting flames shoot up and around the beast burning Thrains beard a small bit for being so close, the slug takes damage and again the smoke and stench of burning slug fills the air making it thick. But still the last of the slugs stand and Darkglade taking Paytons example steps up with her spell again there is a fire but this is larger the Payton as everyone scrambles out of the way. A fireball explodes into the slug cuasing it to burst into flames burning away first its skin the organs leaving only ashes in the groups midst. As the smoke clears and the dust settles there is no sign of any slugs or even the slippery trails they left for it has been all burnt away.

Title: Silly Orc

Active Players: Payton, Rumiko, Thrain, Xsher, Silvanus, Caz and npc Snot.

Location: Durlock's Mountain

Short Version: The group rested in a chamber underground and found someone that could be helpful if they live long enough.

Long Version: We find our group in the back of Durlocks Mountain the flames still flicker on the bodies of all the slugs that were killed. The ponds where the slugs came from lurk in the back of the cave and Thrain suggests that snot check them out. Snot not wanting to go see if there are move slugs suggests that Xsher does it and steals Xsher’s Idol as a hostage to make him do it, Xsher not wanting to let the goblin win nor let his Idol of Anthor fall into the slimy hands casts a spell to stop Snot in the spot but the goblin gets lucky and shakes off the effects before they take hold. Snot passes the idol over to Rumiko and Xsher is forced to jump into the water so he does. Xsher casts a second spell of water breathing on himself so he can comfortably swim to the bottom and search around, what he finds down there are leeches, dozens attach themselves to him before he can swim away back to the surface. Bursting to the top full of mud the group first think he is a monster, but before they attack realize who it is. With the mud the group doesn't spot the leeches right away and Xsher franticly tries to tell the group and but the time they realize what they are Xsher is panicking, Silvanus is the first to come to the rescue trying to pull them off, but they will not budge their sliminess prevents getting a hold on them. So snot gladly comes to Xsher’s side brandishing a lit torch. Xsher insists that he can do it himself as Rumiko tries to join the fray with a sword. Xsher takes another step back and casts a spell flames leap from his hands and he passes the magic past the leeches causing them to fall off with a smell of burning leeches, flesh and hair. Xsher gets the last off them off but still harms himself in the process. Rumiko still wanting to help heats her blade and cauterizes the wounds making Xsher leap and yelp in pain. Snot-flinger still trying to help comes up with another idea leeches hate salt, so with quick thinking he drops his pants and relieves himself of Xsher’s leg causing more leeches to fall off. Xsher’s reaction was to kick Snot in the goblin basket. Thrain pipes up that they should keep moving and with Xsher wiping off his leg everyone agrees and continues down into the Cave of Durlocks Mountain. Rumiko walking back into the cavern has a bad feeling about it and disappears into the shadows as the group sneaks along Nothing is found but the far wall that actually looks smoother then the rest when the group moves forward they notice that it is flawless straight wall with no seems or wrought edge on it. Thrain with a dwarven eye for rock spot what might be an outline of a stone door. But before move investigation can be made Snot hears something in the back of the cave, investigation finds that an orc comes walking out in plain view, probly because it knows its been had. Snot being the first to discover what he is wonders what’s going to happen and doesn't like that prospect. Luckily for now while the thieves are playing around Payton is on his wagon deep in thought about making a weapon, which last fight wasn't dealt with in the best way with his old flail. Thrain busies over the door with Rumiko but both can't seem to figure it out. Thrain studying the door smells something terrible but can't figure it out and it keeps distracting him from the door. Rumiko getting frustrated strays from the 'door' and wanders to find snot seeing if he will help that’s when she discovers the orc. She razes her bow to say hello. The orc, Caz explains that he was there on a quest to kill the dragon, unfortunately Payton and Rumiko with a little help already killed it. So Rumiko goes with a new approach knowing Thrain’s past and Payton’s hate of Orcs she goes onto another tactic that is of course beneficial for her she tells the orc that if he wishes to live to serve her as a servant and she will protect him. Thrain finally gets tired of looking at rocks and comes to see what everyone is looking at, as he spots the figure rage bursts within him and he grasps his axe charging the would-be orcish cleric with his axe. Rumiko hearing Thrain coming tackles him to the side. Thrain’s yelling of course brings Payton wondering into the cave wondering what’s going on, when Rumiko and Thrain are seen in a heap on the floor Payton starts to wonder. That’s when Thrain points out the orc to Payton; and Snot tries to explain having another body is a good thing even if it is an orc’s. That’s when the orc makes this first move pulling out a giant axe the blade bigger then the dwarf’s body. Rumiko trying to be meditiator between the two races tells the orc to put it away, and tells Thrain and Payton to cool it and to get over the Past. Thrain and Payton tell the group then what the orc’s did killing women and children destroying home and raping and pillaging everything they saw... even cattle. Thrain’s family had been killed by the beast and he will never forgive them. That’s when Caz had to say the words "Get Over it." Thrain and Payton are both surprised the orc said such words and wade into battle on either sides of the orc. Payton grabbing daggers from his beard Thrain already has his axe from his beard. Xsher steps in then with a spell tell everyone that without just cause the orc should not be slain. Then room then fills with an obscuring mist take all into a foggy dark. Payton counters with a spell of his own lighting up the orc’s axe to see where he is. But just when Thrain and Payton decide that maybe that night will be where the kill is made to help the rest of the group settle into the death Caz attacks Thrain missing only because Thrain had his shield in position expecting an attack from the orc.

Title: Orcish organ donor

Active Players: Payton, Rumiko, Thrain, Darkglade, Xsher and NPC Snot.

Location: Durlock's Mountain

Short Version: The group dispatches the orc and continues down into the mountain

Long Version: Caz and the group stand off a show down as no one moves waiting for the next to do so, when Caz cries out "Look I didn't mean to get stranded in this roc forbidding land.... Just because I'm an Orc doesn't mean I don't have feelings." Everyone is stunned by this even Thrain but not for long soon the dwarf is moving forward when Payton tries a more honorable way telling the orc to drop his weapon and turn himself over to the authorities but with that not on the orc’s mind he tries to change his story to one where he was to fight the dwarves but was against it the entire time so fled. Thrain not convinced gives up and is finally close enough to kill the orc before the orc can even get his defense up against the battle harden dwarf. With that done the body is searched and the group moves on without ever looking back. They stare at the wall for a time looking it over for cracks Xsher finds the crack that shows the outline of the door but no one else does so everyone thinks he’s lying. Thrain though verifies it and even finds the mechanism that triggers it although eh can't figure out how it works. Payton steps up and finds the stone door and the way to open it but can't get his dwarven fingers to work it properly for it was very well made, but with a quick though he thinks Rumiko’s hands can do the work for him if he guides her and brings her over for a look. as her hands slide across the workings he tells her fingers and hands where to go and when finally with a click of the stone workings success is found for the stone door lurks open with a grating sounds.

Payton is the first to enter, proud of his accomplishments he’s no thief but he can hold his own. Walking down the dusty tunnels the group fallows behind the wagon as it rolls on. A lantern and oil are found on the opposite side of the door hanging on the wall. The group decides that they have had enough of light and wish to use their infravision so as to not alert whatever is down there. They head out down a sloping tunnel while Payton reaches back and pulls out the map that has been seal until they were underground. He looks at the map and notices that its not detailed the only thing it really says is to keep going down, even monuments are almost non-existence. Payton grumbles and continues down the tunnel, as they bank a turn the dust stops, the ground becomes clean and a metal door is is found. Payton checks the map but it doesn't show a room or anything. Payton suggest that they keep going but no one else is convinced, Snot walks up and knocks loudly on the door then runs to hide behind Thrain. But nothing happens.  Rumiko checks for traps but still nothing. Rumiko finds enough courage to open the door but quickly moves away as the door swings silently open without any effort. Payton expecting the worse waits to cast a spell but nothing comes out, nothing jumps at them and when they pier inside, they find a clean room everything in its place, with beds and books and tables with food in the pantry and nice sheets on the bed. Xsher sets to work grabbing all he can, Payton searches the volumes of books Rumiko sets to work eating and Xsher takes a cook book to read later. The group decides they don't want to wait for the owners of the room to come back so they take everything they need and leave. To the amazement of the group the room comes alive, brooms come from no where and start sweeping dusters dust and the food that has been thrown around disappear, so did the books and the stuff Snot took. When they look back the room is as it once was the books all back on the shelves. Xsher doesn't want to leave his books and tries several times before he gives up. Payton wondering if it was an illusion tries to detect a spell but falls back blinded for a moment, the room itself isn't an illusion and it seems that it is full of individual cantrips that make up the entire room. Payton fascinated by this but finds that the grouped doesn't want to study this anymore so he leaves with the group. Leaving with his reigns in hand he sits on his wagon and continues the trek down into the bowls of the earth. Soon the group is tired and decides to rest in a corner where rocks enclose on three sides. Payton Thrain takes watches as the rest sleep, once the group is ready to go again Xsher finds out why his circlet needs to be charged for when he opens his eyes he can't see. He wanders around in the dark until Payton notices and tells everyone to change to normal vision for he will make a light. Rumiko doesn’t like this until Payton assures her that light means shadows to use. Darkglade and Rumiko go ahead scouting out the road; Payton gets the group rolling shortly after entering a cavern at the end of the tunnel.

Rumiko enters the room to find stalagmites and stalactites cover this room as she moves in a stalactite falls from the ceiling with reactions that only a thief could manage she dives from the way and the spear crashing to the ground in front of her, as she looks close she notices that it is alive and tiny legs turn itself over and starts towards the closest wall. Rumiko recovers shortly after and chases the monster down chopping at it with her sword her rage powered her swing and chops the top of the beasts shell off, but that just prompts the peicer to move quicker. Quickly she switches to an overhand grip to stabs the thing but the sword slips off the hard rock like surface. It continues to move away and Rumiko slashes up with the sword slicing a deep gouge into the side almost the length of its body. Darkglade watches as the beast still tries to leave and puts an end to that as 3 magic missiles fire from her hand and straight at the beast blasting it off its feet onto its side killing it. Afterwards they start forward again but soon it starts to rain stalactites again peircers fall from the ceiling missing Darkglade and again Rumiko slices a nice chunk off of the beast, Darkglade fires another volley of the magic energy bolts creaming into the side of the beast but it doesn't fall except another peicer does, and barely missing Rumiko this time before they can react to the new threat Darkglade gets hit from above the peicer smashes down on the concentrating elf knocking her to the ground causing her vision her last words are from Rumiko saying with her back still turned "Do you think we should get some help." before she blacks out completely. Just then the rest of the group rumbles into the cavern to find Darkglade unconscious and Rumiko fighting them off of her the stone creatures continue to try to get to Darkglade but find that they have more composition, Xsher is the first to get to Darkglade healing her but as the blood stops flowing from her ears she still doesn't wake or stir. But as he stands over her another peicer falls almost striking him, lucky its aim was off and misses both him and Darkglade. Payton is the next to come leaning over her body he heals her and she wakes although the room is spinning most of the blood flow has stopped but she will be out of the fight for a while. Thrain gets to work running threw the mess with his axe swinging one way then another he drops one beast digging deep into the shell to cut threw to the bottom leaving a bloody mess as he looks for another target. Payton not leaving Darkglade’s side fires stone daggers at an approaching beast ramming one in deep into the shell but the next one flies wide. Meanwhile Thrain goes into a frenzy almost hitting Darkglade’s dog as it goes for another target hitting it hard repeatedly until its a messy goo. Rumiko hits another while Snot fires dagger after dagger killing one and wounding another badly then Payton comes in firing his own smashing threw the front of the peircer and burying the dagger deep inside so the handle isn't even showing anymore. But this was all not necessary for Thrain comes in with his axe slices the thing in half. completely destroying it. As the group looks around recovering from the fight Darkglade is thankful for the group for she would of died for sure without them. Darkglade rests in the back of Payton’s wagon and the ground heads out as Rumiko explains what happened. They cross the cavern while gabbing then an eerie feeling falls over the group as they cross the dark cavern.

Title: Telk Rulz!

Short Version: The group fights a group of displacer beasts

Long Version: The group heads on through the tunnels Darkglade in the back of Payton's wagon several of the group have an uneasy feeling they are being watched and everyone thinks its a good idea to continue on without stopping in hopes that they can get by without notice as Rumiko says something to the effect "if we are the mouse where’s the cat?" panthers jump into view going straight towards the group Snot opens up with a volley of daggers landing few but that isn't enough to ward off the coming beasts Payton stands up on his wagon casting a spell then he starts speaking to the animals shouting "peace, we wish only to pass." The panthers continue to charge attacking Thrain and so Thrain attacks back Thrain connects with the beast with a lucky blow for afterwards they realize that the panthers don't act or look like the beasts of the forests at all, they have been mutated for tentacles spread out away from there body while they are attached to their back, the beasts act and sound like they are one place but Thrain’s backswing is what actually hit the beast as it tried to sneak up from behind. The battle rages and Rumiko gets a long slice across her shoulder cutting deeply from one as the other hits her legs making her stumble and miss her next attack. Payton realizes that for a fighter like Thrain closing his eyes might help against the beasts for then they will not be able to trick him with their false appearance but that doesn't work well since the creatures Illusion is so complete noises are made from the creatures false where-abouts. With a swing and a miss with a backswing hitting another unlucky cat Thrain realizes this before getting himself killed. The battle goes on with Rumiko recovering from her pulled muscle and Silvanus joining the crazy chanting 'Mahacto' over and over again while slicing and missing a beast, On occasion a dagger will fly overhead from both Snot and Payton who are tossing them. Darkglade from some place back into the cave casts glowing missiles of energy into the fray 3 then soon after another 3 hit home burning the displacer beast with magic and the smell of burnt fur soon rises to choke both sides of the battle. Xsher and Silvanus battle behind the wagon, Payton on top and the rest of the group in front when finally the cat that was on the wagon dies by a swing of Thrain’s axe, soon another is added to the pile with Rumiko’s sword with the claimed kill. Payton now clear of tentacles that would distract his casting now casts a fire spell calling upon the fire to spring right up from the earth to consume the demons the fires burnt away fur and tentacles but unfortunately also burn Thrain as well as he stepped forward to swing at the beast. The battle reaches a frenzied pitch with everyone fighting off attacks from the remaining few beasts the panther creatures see the result of their peers attacks and double thier efforts Thrain holds his shield high as he chops with his axe Rumiko gets hit several times before finishing off another beast and Payton fires off more of his stone daggers. Thrain bleeding kills another and Snot running out of daggers actually jumps on the back of the invisible beast and drives his sword home killing the last all in all 5 beasts lay sprawled about and with the good luck of battle the rest of the group survived. Panting the group rests quickly from the battle. Everyone is too exhausted to move but they can't just stay out here in the open. So Payton goes to work, heading towards the nearest wall he casts a spell of stone shape and with this actually carves out a place in the wall managing the stone like clay so that the walls are thick and the entrance narrow. Inside the group goes to work setting up camp Thrain’s armor is in bad shape so Payton goes to fix it (away from camp so as not to wake everyone) as Thrain and Rumiko sleep. After a while Payton returns with Thrain’s armor with a new inscription on the back "TELK RULZ" it states to everyone humor and Thrain dons the armor and it fits like bran new right off the rack at the armories. Payton walks back to see everyone asleep he drops the armor beside Thrain before returning outside to set a ward then returns to see Thrain up and look at his armor "What the?" is the words that expresses Thrain as he looks at the armor Payton explains "Would you rather pay for my services?" then crashes to the floor to sleep. Thrain thinks on it then agrees with Payton handing him his wine skin, soon Payton is asleep. The morning is full of activity everyone look at Thrain’s armor then a round of healing is made from Payton and Xsher with Rumiko finally heading out in front to scout ahead.

Title: Unsafe safe.

Active Players: Rumiko, Thrain, Sanguine, Darkglade, NPC Snot

Short Version: Sanguine joins the group a elf, Darkglade and Rumiko work on the safe they stole, Party discover underground hearders.

Long Version: The group continues to rest when Snot sees somthing move off in the distence when an elf emerges the group confronts him bombarding him with questions. He answers all he could with a story how he touched himself in a mirror and found himself under here next. The group makes jokes at the elf's expence but soon welcome him to the quest which they are on. meanwhile Rumiko and Darkglade have lost interest in the group and have gone about trying to get thier safe open, to eithers failure to open it they go to more desperate levels including first magic missles then to a fireball spell thanks to Darkglade. Finally they ask the goblin Snot to help them out and with some manuvering he gets the safe open and the contence are revieled Dwarven Porn. Magazines full of dwarves in various states of undress, some even using some of the items Rumiko and Darkglade had taken from the dwarven shop earier. Carrying the safe around for over a week and not being able to figure out the machanics of it drives Rumiko almost off the edge she marches off in a mood as Thrain collects the magazines checking them out, even Darkglade has a laugh at it but Rumiko is not amused. The group finally getsw moving with Rumiko in the lead when they find a big cavern with a watering hole in the middle around the area a heard of something drinks on a closer look the cattle look like giant fuzzy rats and insects with udders. Darkglade gets closer mixing in with the cattle to hide her heat signature, she hears voices of dwarves from the other side. she goes back to tell the group and they deside to suprise attack the hearders.

Title: Buggies

Short Version: The group fight off a patrol of bugbears.

Long Version: As the group aproach threw the hearded beasts two voices can be heard oven the water of a lake. The group gets closer to hear them talk but they give nothing away except they are some sort of hearders, Darkglade tired of the sneeking around fires bolts of enerby at the two shepereds giving the signal for the others to attack. Rumiko is the quickest and fires off two arrows at the two started dwarves. One of the dwarves hit twice with the missles shouts out in pain. The other tries to protect his friend but is outmatched by the banned so he prays to his god saying "telk proptect us" that peaks Paytons interest and tries to stop the group knowing nothing else to do he casts a spell of light over the water making everyone to shut thier eyes from a temperary blinding, but even before the spell was complete Thrain let lose his throwing axe and it chops the wounded dwarves head in half. Payton continues to shout "Stop, stop" until he is close enough then he disapears from the midst of the heard to end up on the other side of the lake infront of the dwarf shielding him from more damage. The dwarf seeing the fight is over kneels next to his fallen comrad saying his peace to him. That is when everyone notices that these dwarves have ankle warmers, metal ones with a chain connecting them, thier clothes are ragged and they look to of been beaten. It turns out that they are slaves and have been all thier lives for generations these 'buggies' he calls tham have had them as slaves. The a debate about how they should hold these slaves, freedom is the final answer and the bonds are cut. The dwarf exlplains the rest as quickly because he knew that the buggies or now called Bugbears would be on thier way quickly, and sure enough Snot runs around the corner saying that there is alot of things coming this way.

The wagon is moved and the slave is put inside as the group attack the bugbears that come around the corner. The bugbears with thier javilins rush at the group but are hit themselves as they turn the bend Rumiko fires shots off with her bow and snot with his daggers. Silvanus is hit with a javilin but stands it as he runs forward Thrain throws his axe and slams the being with a thrown axe causing it to fall and never to rise. Meanwhile Payton turns his wagon around with his new found dwarven partner and tells as he starts to roll up the passage they came from, "If you hear something that doesn't sound right get out of the way" and with this the wagon rolls on out of site. The battle continues with niether side doing much damage at the missiles before the bugbears are close enough to engage in melee Thrain goes in chopping, take a dep cut out of the closest of the cave-dwellers with his axe. At the same time a smelly bugbear tries to find a hole in Thrains armor but as Thrain and payton know there isn't much of a hole to find and the javilin glances off. Thrain meanwhile backswings with his axe hitting yet another oponent cleaving an ear with the blow and knocking the man-thing back.

meanwhile Payton heads up the trail thats slope coming to what he thinks is a good distance up the trail. he jumps down and makes a few quick calculations in his head then asks the dwarf for some help "I'm going to need you to help me." With that he turns to the rocks and starts to pray to telk, as he does he takes some clay out of his pockets and molds it into a sidways piller making sure to put a symbol of Telk on one side and his own on the other side. once he casts the spell the rocks give way like they were made of clay and reform in the tunnel as a giant cylider. "All you have to do now is push." all in all the thing is the size of the tunnel and several feet tall, a big smily face is ingrave on the rolling part. With a push the rock starts to move and the slave dwarf gets the understanding and helps Payton out. eventually the rock moves on its own accord and the dwarves only have to adjust its path.

The group below continue the assult with the bugbears Sangiune the elf new to the group misses a club from a big bugbear with silvanus trying to take this adventage but fails to connect against the big oponent. Rumiko misses an attack with dexderity that seems inhuman and Thrains armor takes hits from two of the nasty things. Rumiko tries to retaliate but the previous dodge kanted her to much and Thrain misses another attack. Thrain uses his shield now swinging it around trying to clear the bugbears that suround him on all sides, dodging seams all he can do as Rumiko tries to come to his aid only to slip, after all her dodging and gracful manuvers she slips on some blood and as she falls her sword flies loose flung over the heads of the bugbears to land some distance away. The bugbears don't miss this and soon they are advancing on her relieing on her dexderity again she dodges with close blows some even hitting her armor. Snotflinger the goblin and distent cousin to the bugbears was not without a fight a bugbear circled around the lake the other way and has since engaged the goblin in a fight, hitting Snot with a mean stab to the torso. Thrain finally gets a hit off though hitting the biggest of the group with a blow of the axe, hearing thre bugbears bone crack and blood spray was a welcome noise to the dwarf and he doubles his effort in his attacks, His next blow guts the large bugbear and drops him to the earth to bleed his lifeblood over his bowels and onto the stony ground of the underdark. The Bugbears around Thrain see this and shut, yell and scream with javilins coming from all sides Thrain against goes into a defence behind his sheild. Sanguine tries to Help Thrain seeing a bugbear sneeking up on the dwarf but is force to back off by one with a quick stab of a javilin it missed sangiune but by the time the elf recovered it was to late a bugbear had snook up behind Thrain and strikes the dwarf in the back with his club only the sturdy dwarven legs kept Thrain from stumbing forward as he notices the attacker for the first time, but not for long out of the heard comes energy bolts as Darkglade fires shot after shot into the bugbear that hit Thrain burning and sizzling the skin. Rumiko takes steps back as the bugbears try to suround her, dodging hit after hit of the goblin-like creatures nearly missing a hit from what anyone could only discribe as 'dashing' as much that a bugbear can be. Snot fires daggers into a fat bugbear as Thrain dodges an attack from the same beast. Ostra Darkglade's dog bounds out of the cattle going for a throat getting one in its jaws it starts to squeeze the obeast bugbear falls to the ground struggling with this ginat dog. Thrain and Rumiko continue to dodge near misses for both of them while Rumiko looks on trying to find where her sword might of landed. SNot fires another dagger volly into the obeast bugbear that Ostra has. Sangiune meanwhile is going toe to toe with the sneaky bugbear that hit thrain with his first and only swing he misses the bugbear.

Then everyone hears it, its coming from the tunnel where payton disapeared a low rumbling that is only heard by the group for they know they are to listen for somthing, They don't know what it is but they know that its Payton for sure. With the Rumbling sangiune misses his next attempt and good thing for a bugbear had come up and with Sangiunes bad slice of his sword it took his arm out of the way from a wild swing of a club thats connect4ed to the smelly bugbear but with the really bad miss the bugbears club turns into a missle as his hold slips making the club fly away and splash down into the lake. Rumiko by this time has recoved her own sword diving over the bugbears rolling under another to grab the sword and ready to move again the movment has made the bugbears confused. The obeast bugbear struggles free of the dog but is quickly fending it off against rolling along the floor not letting ostra get a good grip. Thrain swings away missing his first but the backswing hits a pointy eared bugbear and makes it stumble away then thrain backs away himself clearing the ring with a push of his shield but the bugbears don't let him go without a fight attacking him several times only to come face to face with the dwarves shield. Angry that Rumiko tricked him out of an easy kill a bugbear spins around on her and hits her with his club before she can react hitting her arm that doesn't hold her sword makes it go numb. The bugbears are getting tired of trying to force thier objects past Thrains armor and three of the beast jump him tackling him to the ground only threw Thrains straigth does he throw two off of him and grapples with the third. That is when sangiune gets a suprise from a bugbear that jumps on his back the bugbear with large teeth tackles the elf to the ground then in bloodlust rips out the elves throat. The elf never saw it coming and sanguine quickly chokes on his own blood before laying still on the floor of the cave. No one notices much the elves passing into the next realm as Thrain continues to grapple and Rumiko vows revenge. Thrain gets a knee into the bugbears groin causing it to fall crippled to the ground and Rumiko strikes a blow to the angry bugbear slicing a gash in the beasts stumic that causes its intestines to be seen. Thrain struggles to regain his feet only to be faced with the sneaky bugbear that almost knocked him down earlier and with a quick action takes his shield and rams it into the bugbear, the spike on the shield drives into the creature patruding out the other side, with the blood covered shield Thrain finally rises to his feet ready for another attack and thats when the ground starts to rumble.

Payton charges down the hill the big wheel infront moving at a good pace, the dwarven slave beside him pushing along, the first to be run over is the cattle the massive heard starts to stampede away in all directions as the first of the giant bugs and the rats get squashed, with the myahem that this caused the group scatters with most of the bugbears Snot kills the one ostra was playing with so the dog doesn't get under the rolling rock. Payton still makes minor ajustments looking from the side every once in a while to see where the concintration of bugbears are. Thrain thinks back trying to remember where that sound had been from before then he remeber as he turns around to see a rolling pillar of stone coming straight for him. "Spider cave!" is all he can get out before running towards the closest wall, the bugbear that was fighting him misses his swing because of the dwarf bolting. Rumiko just looks up with a stunned "huh" before the dust obstructs her view. teh rumbling is loud now and the vibrations in the floor kick up dust causing the effect on Rumiko. Thrain now against a wall hits a bugbear that fallowed with a it of his axe a limb is severed from the goblin-like creature. Then another attacks Thrain stricking a clang on his armor. Threw the dust the rolling stone keeps advencing and Darkglade soon falls in behind it fireing off more magic missles on her way killing the bugbear Thrain mamed. Xsher coming into the fight casts a spell causing three of the bugbears to stand still not able to move, whcih payton makes short work with his roller. The giant cylinder bursts forth from the heard rolling at an alarming rate towards the bugbearers. minor ajustments are noticed to steer the thing into the crowd of them. A bellow hardly louder then the rumbling it made can be heard from behind "GAIN WAY!" is heard in a familiar dwarven voice. Rocks fall from teh cieling and walls and as it gets closer Payton can be seen pushing it with the haggered lookign dwarf. Another shout tells all that payton has returned and that everyone should move...well all except the enemies. Abother of the bugbears goes down under the stone. Rumiko quickly takes adventage of the sistuation and slices threw her attacker ending his life. A laugh can be heard by all close enough to hear it the haggered looking dwarf laughs histerically almost maddening as the rolling crushes the bugbears like...bugs. With the reinforcments of the roller to back the group up everyone goes into a high morale mode killing the bugbears almost on Site Rumiko slices a good cut across one while Thrain severs anothers head. Snotflinger uses his daggers from a hidding spot to end a thirds life. Then with a final squish of the roller the last of the bugbears are dead the roller allowed to roll off into the lake is left to go with a splash and it soon disapears under the waters edge.

As the group comes down from thier adrenilin rush they notice for the first time the elven body of sangiune who now lays flat as a pancake with his skull crushed and gray matter laying in a platter pattern around him Payton notices and feels no real remorse for the elf he didn't know Rumikos only words are "Poor kid, never had a chance." and she moves off. Everyone paid thier respects to the elf, but each start to think of the road ahead the dwarven slave metioned that it was a partol and that they won't be missed until morning. The group deside to take this chance to rest then attack refreshed before the partrol is to be back. Xsher is apolled that the group is to leave the elf where he lays but with no soft ground to bury him it is all he gets. The dwarf directs the group towards the bugbears camp telling them that they have resently gottne new slaves and that they are in the camp as well. Soon the elf is forgotten as fast as he came. Thrain is joking with Rumiko and Xsher is thinking of treasure. Snot soon takes an interest in the elves things though and quickly takes some rope from the pack. Xsher being even more daring takes the chainmail off the elves back, and the rest of the stuff goes towards several more people in the group. No with the body picked clean the group deside to rest right there. After a few hours of well neeed and deserved rest the group heads out with Payton Wagon in the back incase of un-needed noise. They move slowly because the haggard dwarf insists that he bring the cattle with them to cover such noises, With thier dwarven guide they find the path and are quickly coming up with a plan, Payton wants to make another roller to use, while Rumiko and Darkglade take ou the guards. One slight problem comes to mind as the tribe comes into view, there is a bridge only 4 feet wide at the end of the path before the village. Inside there are several acual stone buildings with in the middle a cage with two prisoners inside. Between the bridge and the village is well over 40 or so bugbears including women and children.

Title: Almost in Ranger

Location: Underground Khardfee

Short Version: The group takes on a tribe of Bugbears, rescuing another person.

Long Version: The group stand on the edge of a large hole on one side stands the small party on the other side a entire tribe (minus 12) of Bugbears. The group try to deside of a tactic to get across the ravine and kill the tribe without having to fight them all at once. The once promonent idea that a rolling pillar would again come in handy couldn't pass the 2 foot wide bridge and still do damage. Darkglade suggests that all in the group stay on this side where they have to only worry about ranged wepons and that the group can cut down any that try to cross the bridge. The group rests preparing for the next attack, they take time to prepare spells and heal, and Thrain to rest. The group desides while resting thier plan, Darkglade will Raise her magic tower then the group will use this to rain thier ranged weapons down from above, when this is being discussed Thrain sees somthing weird a shape that looks almost like a pony or small horse, whatever it was it didn't seem freindly and disapears from view almost imediatly making Thrain think it was a shadow or trick of his infravison as Thrain investigates he can only see glimses and desides its not like a horse at all its almost like a stealthy donkey. Once everything is said and done Thrain is the first to brake camp marching off with others in tow. Darkglade moves into position sneaking to the edge of the bridge but when she moves to close a great shape apears and an alarm is sounded in the camp the image is that of a wyvern and with the image Darkglade has to move off or be poisoned. Everyone that hears the alarm hits Xsher for putting it there only to discover it wasn't him. Xsher explains that he remembers reading of a camp like this where creatures would have a shawman or cleric of thier own, also in the camp would be a cheiftain and subchieftain. the information is taken in a little to late for the bugbears on the other side try to figure out whats happening.

Yelling Payton says "Fireball, Fireball now!" to Darkglade and then rushes to defend the mage. Rumiko in the mean time has climbed down undernieth the bridge and is now moving across to the camp. Darkglade had hear Paytons shout and quickly fires off a flaming ball the flies across the ravine spand th envelope several of the bugbears into a blazing death. Xsher sees a bugbear coming out with a skull for a helm, marking him as a shawmen he shout "Kill the skullone thats the shawmen" which directs the groups attacks. Ranged weapons are quickly used on both sides of the rivine javilins from one side and SNots daggers from the other, Snoth fires several off these deadly blades from his quick moving hands gitting a leggy beasty with 2 causing the beast to slow his attack and watch Thrain run over the bridge. Thrain rushes the crowd of bugbears attacking with speed and prosistion taking with his first blows the skull wearer out then finishing off a second that snot had softened up. Now Thrain taking the attention of the bugbears dodges a javilin throw from one and a biteing atack from another. Thrain blocks a third attack from a big bugbear probly the chief with the clang of the mace hitting the dwarven shield the fight grows more intence. That is when the biggest of the bugbears comes out standing over the dwarf by at least 3 feet it swings with its own battle axe cutting into Thrains armor and sholder behind. Xsher explains that the huge one is oviously the chief to Thrains reply "No kidding" as he faces off against the two attackers. Thrain moves out of the way of yet another attacker that tries to sneak up behind him. Thats when the 'stelthy donkey' comes onto the scene as not a donkey at all but a giant wolf the side of a donkey, jumping the big bugbear from behind the wolf latches onto the monsters neck and pulls him to the ground. With Thrain dodging several attacks when Darkglade casts her next smell with the last incantation a think cloud apears with Thrain smack dab in the middle of it he imedatly starts coughing and can't get it out of control. 4 out of the 5 bugbears around him are also coughing and carrying on in the same manner. Payton goes to Thrains rescue sort of crossing the bridge and standing outside of the cloud cursing at the dwarf on the inside. With thrain still coughing and the bugbears around him doing the same not much can be done but to attack the ones around the outside the giant wolf continues to hang on to the big bugbears neck crushing the life out of him and javilins are still being thrown from the far side of the cloud. Xsher rushes ahead trying to help Thrain only to be confronted by the huge bugbear chief Xsher knows he is in trouble when the axe of the bugbears slices cleanly into the human priest and cuts a deep slash to his chest. Darkglade before she can cast another spell gets hit by a javilin in her arm making her curse instead of cast. Ostra the dog sees his mistress hit and runs after the bugbear that attacked her creeming into him and bitting the arm that threw the missles, blood poors from the wound over the dogs jaws and the bugbears is force to shake the dog free cuasing more damage. Snot continues to pump out daggers from a safe distence and hits several different targets. The wolf in the meantime has left the wounded bugbear at the call of one of the slaves in the cell and quickly bites into the petrified wood that is used for bars a snap is heard and the slave is soon free with the wolf spitting out splinters. The slave squeezes his way out of the opening and is soon riding the giant wolf disapering into one of the tents. Rumiko by this time had snook up the other side of the ravine and soon impales a bugbear on her sword adding to the fray. Xsher thinking quickly casts a spell with acuaracy that stops two bugbears in their tracks Darkglade takes this advantage and fires magical bolts of energy into the huge chiftain knocking it to the ground still parilized. Payton takes on the other paralized bugbear he takes the dagger and acually climbs up the clothing of the beast and with one swift movement swiftly jabs it into its now exsposed throat letting blood spray forth from it. Soaking Paytons beard and most of his face with the hot liquid. shaking off the one kill he turns to face another, blood drenched clothing and streams running down his blade "bet that hurt" is what he says before turning and a smile finds his face as a sneaky bugbear is now in sight. "NEXT!" Rumiko now faces off with the mortally wounded bugbear she before attacked and now the bugbear takes the advantage of her sword will being stuck in its own guts and hit Rumiko with his club making her almost lose grip of her sword. Before it can get another swing though Rumiko twists her sword free causng the beast to shout out in pain. Several more attacks are attemped on Payton but the vidulent dwarf blocks most with his sword others are only saved by the turesilver armor he wears under his shirt. Ostra still fights with a bugbear and is soon ontop of the downed beast clawing and biteing making sure it doesn't get up but as he is doing this a javilin gets throw and hits his master causing her to cry out in pain. Ostra hearing the cry looks for his mistress only to be hit by a mace on the side of the head causing the dog to stumble sideways off the attacker but before it can recover the dog is hit again causing it to fall and not able to rise. Before the dogs fate is sealed though Snot-flingers constent barrage of daggers catches up with the bugbear standing over the downed dog and with two daggers quickly embeded into the goblin-kin it falls ontop of the dog and never moves again. Darkglade meanwhile almost falls from the javilin but recovers enough to retailiate with missle weapons of her own only with the acuracy of magic burning flesh and hair as it impacts it does little to faze the new attacker. Xsher tired of missing his attacks wides up and creams the held huge bugbear causing the skull to crack and his brain matter to sprey across another bugbear who tries to attack Xsher but fails from the blinding, but he soon recovers and attacks Xsher with a vengence smacking the priest of anthor upside the head. Rumiko soon finishes off her own oppentent with her sword digging again deep into its belly and right threw the back. She goes off to look for another and soon finds her sword in teh side of the ugliest bugbear she has ever seen. Snotflinger has after his last dagger circled around one of the bugbears and attacks with a backstab killing the beast with one blow threw the back into the bugbears heart. Payton takes the time inbetween attacks to call apon Telk to first lower the temperature of the room then to cast down water from above on all around him. This cuases the effect of when the water hits his bearer of cold it instently freezes and turns into giant blocks of ice killing one bugbear and woundin g two others with payton in the middle taking damage too. This desperate act was to give the others time to regroup across the bridge but of course no one would leave the battle, well all except Xsher who quickly runs across to help darkglade. Again darkglade is back into action frying a bugbear with another magic missle. This is when Thrain finally recovers from the cloud of Darkglade and while stumbling out of the cloud attacks the first bugbear he sees chopping its head from its sholders again he swings this time downing a second with his axe in its chest, his third dies by the dwarf's shield smashing it into unconciousness and soon He stumbles off looking for another. SNot takes another down from behind this time chopping its head off with a singal swing.

With only a singal bugbear left the two dwarves start to argue over who is more usless ignoring the fight altogther the two shout back and forth with insults that made even Snot-flinger blush meanwhile the bugbear is killed by a blast of fire from Xsher burning it into a smoldering pile of ashes which smells like burnt fur and skin. When the group try to search the huts all but one are empty in the last no one can see for it is barred by a donkey size wolf from inside the slave shouts out "Who goes there" that is when the last bugbear jumps out attacking Xsher whu dodges it but snot quickly puts an end to this ones missery and with a twist of his sword drops the bugbear into a pile. The slave explains himself to be called Kathan a scout of teh Western Alliance and his wolves name is cedric. Talking about the wolf reminds payton about Darkglades dog and quickly goes over to discover it is still alive, with some healing magic it is revived but Darkglade is no where to be found so the dog tags along with Payton. The group searches the place to find it deserted no women and children are found and with further examination they find out why. At the back of the tribes cave is a gate that leads into tunnles going down the haggared dwarf say it leads into the deepdark and that it remains closed to prevent nasty things from getting up, but now the gate stands open and everyone knows its because the women and children ran. Rumiko scouts own the tunnel but soon returns and locks the door. everyone is ready for a rest and a healing time so they all settle in for a few days

Title: Hulk-a-mania

Active Players: Payton, Thrain, Darkglade, Xsher, Rumiko, Kathan & NPC Snot.

Location: Underground Khardfee

Short Version: The group fallow the bugbear women and children into the passage of the deep dark.

Long Version: The groups ewxpectations are high, only two days ago they bulk of them were hurt and close to dieing but now with two days rest and divine healing from Payton and Xsher the group is ready to head out. One little problem with that Kathan the newest member of the group can't see in the dark. Payton comes up with a quick cure taking a rock from his pack he calls out a prayer to Telk and soon the rock glows softly with light, giving the rock to Kathan Payton remarks "There you go, but be careful I forget what else that rock does." but as soon as he gives it away the older spell present on the rock goes off, the light goes out as well with Kathan. Everyone sees him diapear but a cry comes from the ranger as Payton remembers he remarks "Oh yeah, thats what that does." Cedrik the direwolf apears alomost as fast as Kathan disapears and searches for him master into the circle of darkness. Kathan quickly discards the rock tossing it over the edge of the ravine. After a second try Payton gets it right and soon Kathan is walking along with a glowing rock.

As the group moves on into the steep decending tunnel after the gate Rumiko is found searching items discarded by the running bugbears, with nothing found the group moves on taken most of the day to travers the winding tunnel that eventually emptys out onto a narrow ledge only 4 feet wide it goes along the edge of what loosk to be a bottomless gorge. The wagon just fitting slong the edge takes it real slow not wanting to even lose grip of a wheel over the cravas. Alot of dried blood covers the ground a battle not to long ago took place here, or more likely a slaugter of the fleeing bugbears. Everyone is on full alert looking over the ledge for anything that might come from its depths all excpet the slave dwarf, that haggered looking dwarf stands against the far wall and that was his last mistake, before he could cry out he is in pieces on the ground, blood flowing from the piecesto resoak the ground. Three armored creatures materialize seemingly out of the wall standing over the mutilated corpse.

Haveing the wagon in the way Thrain can't properly see what the group is facing but is quickly helped out with one of the beast crashing threw the wall infront of him. Payton just stands on his wagon dumbfounded as these beast suround his wagon now and the group. Darkglade is the first to attack fireing off a spell that causes three magic missiles to smoke into the one near thrain, not pleased with the result for the beast didn't even stumble Darkglade curses and tries to prepare another spell. Snot being probly the smartest of the group dives under the wagon where the pigs hide and hopes not to be bothered or seen. Rumiko moves to defend Darkglade attacking one of the clawed beasts but her sword glances off the hard natural armor. Uneffected by Rumikos attack it then attacks the wagon! smashing a hole in the front of the wagon big enough for a dwarf to fit threw, obviously seeing snot. The third of the beasts automatically fallows siut smashing the wagon as well this blow hits the side sending the wagon into plinters the axil brakes and one of the wheels are torn clean off. The remaining wheel is the only thing that prevents it from smashing the goblin and pigs who took up resedents underneith. Thrain tries ramming the beast with his shield only to make a ringing sound out alot like a pot hitting a brick wall. Kathan fires an arrow but misses wildly with the arrow ricochetting off the wall. Snotflinger tries to help with the attack by swinging his sword wildly out from under the wagon missing horribly the first time but the second time hits the beast in the back of the leg. This causes the beast to pause looking down at the wagon at looking for the thing that attacked him but only for a second and turns to attack Thrain instead, Thrain luckly had recovered from his bouncing off a brick wall experaince enough to dodge the bow coming at him. Meanwhile the armored creature that had torn apart the wagon starts to claw under it looking for meat, what he finds is Snot and the goblin squeels alot like the pigs do as hit is hit twice once the claws dig deep into the goblins leg. Silvanus tries to come to the rescue of Snot but with a slap of his blade on the beasts hide it only makes the fallen bladewarriors arm go numb. Agian and again the group tries to attack the beasts but without much damage the thick hide works as well as platemail on the creatures and any attack that does get threw doesn't do much damage at all. Now faceing off with two as one of the lumbering beast climbs over the downed wagon Thrain has his hands full dodging and attacking niether beast nor the Thrain can get the upper hand.

Rumiko comes out with an idea for Darkglade telling her to cast a fireball into the hole in which these creatures emerged from with the one still infront of the hole it might knock it off the ledge. Darkglade agrees that this is a good plan and prepares to cast as Rumiko holds the beast in place with a jab of her long sword which acually finds a hole in pit of the beast as it tries to attack. Darkglade finishes her incantations and the fireball is release to blast down the tunnel until it hits the back wall. The blash from the spell cuases the ground to rumble and causes one of the bugbears to fall to the ground close to the edge. Xsher has an idea to cast a type of light spell blinding the beast but as he looks into the beast eyes he falls over aparently dead. Rumikos responce is only "Whats wrong with the priest now?" as she faces the downed beast. AS the fight rages life signs can be seen from Xsher as he looks at his hands and looks around a little confused. The battle goes on with Payton blocking attacks on whats left of his wagon and Thrain having a rib broken in a backhand of one of the musclebound hulks. Kathan trying to aid yet another group member fires an arrow this one lodging into the beast but causing nothing more then a twitch of the arm as the creature continues to rain a tyrade of attacks on Thrain. Now all of the monsters are circling Thrain one misses a swipe badly and only saves itself from plumiting over the edge of the cliff by acaully grabbing Thrain with his other hand to hold himself up crushing Thrains shoulder in the process. Darkglades next spell creates a floating hand that tries to attack one of the beasts but misses and slams into the wall causing it to dissipate. Darkglades next spell comes off almost imediatly causes a calidiscpoe of colors to mingle in the air and spread out over the unsuspecting hulks. One escapes the stunning effects by turning away in time while the two others stand there stunned. Now it is Paytons turn for a spell, casting quickly he opens up a hole under one of the stunned creatures feet making it fall away into the abyss, before the spell wears off though he closes the hole to reviel just the stone again. Thrain takes this opertunity to attack the third and final beast hitting it twice he chops away armor with his first attack and hits the flesh under it with his second finally his axe tastes the blood of the beast he is fighting. Darkglade again with a spell at her fingertips send forth another barrage of magic energy bolts crashing into the beast yet again. Snot-flinger seeing the tides of battle finally turn comes out from his hiding place, sneaking around the back of the creature the goblin first scales the wall the jumps on the beast back diggin g his sword in with the momentum. The creature hallers for the first time in the almost slient attacks. The monster charges forward trying to get away swiping at the confused Xsher that stands in his way. Xsher goes flying aginst the wall where he stands up now the world comes back into focus enough for the Anthor priest to witness Thrain chopping into the back of the beast. With a singal creature left the group desends on the stunned beast like a kid burning ants. Snot again jumps on the creatures back digging the sword almost to the hilt, the only thing stopping it was the armor on the other side of the beasts body. Rumiko joins in this attack digging hers in from the other side only to meet with the same resistence. With its lifeblood drainging away more hacks and slashes desend on the confused thing and with Rumikos other sword finding a way past the armor into the beasts heart where it crumples to the ground its own blood staining the earth anew.

Xsher heals the group as everyone recovers thier breath Payton looks down on his wagon with regrete and starts to pick up the pieces in a bid to repair it to some sort of working order. With a day or so of fixing ahead of him the group spreads out, Rumiko scouting around the area while Kathan chops off the beasts claws thinging bone daggers to himself. Xsher impressed with the creatures eyes gouges them out putting them in a bag. Thrain helps Kathan with his arrows while darkglade sits downs and reads her spellbook.

Title: Idle Idols or Terrible twos.

Active Players: Thrain, Payton, Rumiko, Kathan and NPC Snot

Location: Deep dark, Underground Khardfee

Short Version: Rumiko gets cursed and the group run into more trouble on the ledge.

Long Version: The group starts off With Payton putting together the shatterd parts of his wagon, picking up pieces he just throws them into a pile thinking up plans for the new and improved wagon. He soon realizes that maybe on a ledge no larger then the wagon was wide isn't the safest place for the project and soon just starts slapping parts together until he can rearrange them in the safty of a cave with no holes in it. Snot takes a suvinier off one of the umbering hulks digging out from the back end the things heart giving it to Payton for some reason. Payton is oblidged to keep it for some time anyways and quickly stores it into a pouch. Rumiko goes exploreing taking her time she sneaks into the hole of the umbering hulks. Creeping along she moves silently and like a shadow until she hits an abrupt end, here the tunnel turns into a cave which is covered with bones and piles of excriment. Rumiko searches the bones easily enough but looking at the piles of Umber-poo gives Rumiko pause. With a discarded bone she starts prodding threw the feaces gagging a few times in the process. Finding some gold pieces and a ivory doll Rumiko quickly cleans up then moves back towards the group. Thrain being the first to notice the smell just says "Damn!" and Rumiko explains what she found Payton giving her a blue rock tells here it has a glyph of water on it and all she is to do is call out the word which he writes down on a piece of parchment for her "Agwa" is to activate it. Rumiko throwing the rock a few feet says the word of activation and the rock starts spewing forth water. Quickly washing the coins her new idol and herself Clean Rumiko is refreshed and feels better all around.

Rumiko checks over her idol amazing in its lifeness although she doesn't know what that life is. It seems to be a demon of some sort but she gives it to Payton for closer examination. Payton comes up with an explination as good as he can find "It seems to be a demon of some kind, you know what it reminds me of? the thing that Couper turned into, back near the kobolds. Maybe its that Myth creature that they were worshiping." The next suggestion is to brake the item and Rumiko quickly likes this idea and tosses the idol over the edge of the cravas. The idol disapears into the mirky depths, thats when Rumiko feels a presents near her touching her back which is strapped to her back. Rumiko draws her swords and swings around looking for the assilent only to find nothing she then checkers her pack. With a sigh she pulls out a ivory idol of the same grotesque demon. Payton is reminded of the die that Couper had to Rumiko and Thrains horror. Rumikos mind starts spinning with ideas for this idol like selling it then when she walks away it would return to her so she can resell it. The group even tested it with a item tied to it then trowing off the cliff, only the idol would return though. They continue to discuss what ramifications this cursed item could have on the group even to the point where trying to adress the item hoping for a activation word but if there is one they never found it.

Payton finally fixes his wagon so that it is usable at least and the group desides that they can still talk of the idol on the way. Traviling for eight hours the group find they are still on the edge although the edge has gotten bigger with less chance the group will fall off now. The group tired from the days battle all except Payton who seems still wide awake deside to rest, Rumiko scouts out the area makin g sure it is safe when she smells something terrible, as she searches for the source a vision pops into her head before her apears three two headed giant troll that looks plenty mean are buisy eating on whatever bugbear survived the ambush of the umber hulks. Rumiko quickly waves the team forward to tell them of what she saw with little notice that she didn't acaully see them the group trusts Rumikos sences even if they don't make sence and quickly try to form a stratigy. Snot is the first to bring up his concern with Rumiko talking to the idol, and soon the others wonder why they never caught on earlier to Rumikos actions. Payton suggests that Rumiko distroys the idol once and for all before she falls into its snears or magic or goes insain trying to hear the item. Rumiko places it on the ground and swings at it with her sword. With a mighty smash the idol is still intact although Rumikos magic sword takes a chip out of it to her dismay. Getting made Rumi quickly takes the idol and starts smashing it against the ground only to cause herself to gest dizzy and sick. Payton not trusting the visions that Rumiko has seen asks for a volenteer to look up ahead of course out of the group Snot is then volentold to do it. Thrain offers his services but with his armor clanging te entire underdark would hear him try to sneek up. Snot goes off alone on his scoutting then before the group can ask what is happening he returns with the news that the smell is infact trolls. Again the idol is forgotten for now for the group sets about making a plan Payton hints at a plan but Rumiko comes out with it that the group knock the things off the ledge. With a plan and idea Payton walks boldly out into the open walking forward to meet the trolls.

The trolls look up from thier feast and one replies "look desert" and the trolls move to advence on the group Payton casts a spell before they get in range causing a flaming to shoot up from the ground and catch two in its blaze, Snot-flinger turns dagger flinger sending his barrage of points into the closest of the trolls. Unfortunatly the cloest is too close for Thrain to get up his guard in time and as the dwarf runs in to attack he gets backhanded from the nearest of the three and gets the wind knocked out of him as he spins off to the side. Again the dwarf tries to get his guard up but again its to late the second gets him with his claws digging into the dwarven shoulder then a bite to the forhead cause Thrain to have to back off to regroup. Luckly Rumiko is there to help back Thrain up and jumps on the back of the nearest one plunging her sword into the kidney of the two headed freak. with her sword sticking out the other side Rumiko tries to hang on for the ride. Digging in her other sword Rumiko then plants her feet and springs off the back, but not in time to dodge a blow from the next troll she goes spinning out into the dark of the tunnel with the swing of the beast. With the sowrds dislodge the wounds automatically start to heal and soon hardly any damage is visible at all on the once mortally wounded monster. Again Thrain is the center of attention blocking blows from the third and biggest of the trolls, but to the dwarves comes the aid in the form of magic Darkglades figure can been seen but the glow of magic forming from her hand then the dispersing of it after causes shadows to align the elven face, missle after magic missle assult one of the trolls burning flesh the bolts crash into the troll causing no care from the troll as it hits Thrain again for a stunning blow spinning the dwarf totally around even with the shield infront he is still knocked around like a rag doll. Thrain again tries to defend but is attacked from beind from the two heads of the troll biteing into his shoulder crushing bones and causing great pain, The dwarf passes out. Payton takes charge of the bad situation telling the group to fall back and to take Thrain with them He will distract the three trolls. Payton runs into fray blocking the way of the trolls to Thrain. A magical hammer apears above the dwarfs head as he focuses the hammer into attack it causes a glancing blow against one of the trolls hopefully getting thier attention. Darkglade on the other hand has other ideas and casts quickly another spell causing a spray of colors to flash out of her outstretched hands and into the eyes of the beasts. Everyone covers thier eyes know the spell can cause confusion except the trolls who fall into a buzzing state of just standing there. This is when Snot comes out from beind one and plants his sword up the trolls wazzo making sure the steel eneima is well taken Snot gives a twist of the sword falling the beast before it can regenerate itself. Silvanus with a controled aim of his sword connects with one of the troll heads of the second beast severing it causing the whole of the troll to fall. Snot again takes charge of the third and final troll chopping the beast between the heads almost seperating the two like simease twins. Payton quickly takes the cue and casts a fire spell causing bolts of flames to come from his hands into the slithering remains of the regenerating trolls burning and cauterizing each of the ends so the can't regrow again.

High Points: Rumikos new toy seems to help to scout.

Low Points: Trolls would of killed the group if Darkglade (NPCed this week because of her absents) didn't use a color spray and the trolls all to fail thier save vrs spell.
