Beauty and the Beasts, session 1

DM Prophet

Active players: Darion, Mel'Van

Session time: 2 1/2 hours

The group left the inn, finally, and learned from a helpful businessman of the new monument to the Confederation going up. Since the marketplace was right there, and provisions were still needed, they decided to head that way. Darion lead them northward, following the helpful directions, and with only one detour, reached the crowd. As they pressed in with the crowd to get a look, a figure climbed onto the monument to address the crowd. He declared himself a magus and provided an inspirational speech, to Darion's surprise, not instigating a riot. Indeed, people seemed to accept him and his words well. Following that, they proceeded into the thick of the marketplace, noticing and commenting on some strange things. The session ended with Darion haggling to buy food from a gnomish merchant.

Treasure: 60 dried fish for the price of 2 sp.

Special note: Thanks to Prophet for taking the great leap into DM-hood just to get BatB running again.

Beauty and the Beasts Session 2

DM Prophet

Active Players: Mialee, Darion, Mel'Van, Snott (NPC) and Drebb (who came late... but that's ok.)

Summary:

The group bought a few tents. Darion became a suspect in a murder case. The group suspected that their missing halfling friend Drebb was somehow involved. From Snot's contact the group learned about news from Edilar, decided to aid in reopening the trade routes to the Elven country, and to search for the missing Princess of Edilar. While resting in the Temple of the Creator in Coops, the group captured a Halfling that pleaded for mercy and freedom.

The long version:

The afternoon started off with a bust. The woman selling tents of all shapes and sizes (she prefers the big ones) flirted with the men and even Mialee as she tried to sell her wares. Snot left to meet with a friend of his while he group bought three small tents with what little money they had left. Mialee immediately claimed one for herself leaving the four boys to share the other two.

After leaving the flirtatious tent saleswoman behind the group heads off into the Coopservilleforge Market again this time in search of pots and pans. Instead they found a stumbling merchant. Darion got it in his head to "help" the man by relieving him of his heavy purse. Instead he ended up becoming a suspect in a murder case because the merchant died in Darion's arms, a dagger deep in the merchants side. After a few quick questions Mialee discovered that there was a second suspect. A halfling that the merchant had been talking to in a local pub. When the guards finished their own questions the group was free to move on but warned not to leave town.

Moving quickly away from the scene of the murder the group once again searched for a store selling pots and pans. Ahead of them in the crowd the Goblin Snot made his way back to the group disguised, once again, as an old woman. He revealed to them the current state of affairs in Edilar which he had learned from his "friend." He also brought news of the disappearnce of the Princess of Edilar while she travelled to Coops. All of the news from Edilar apparently worried Mel'Van muchly for he fell to his knees shaking his head yelling No over and over again.

The news changed Mialee's plans of making straight for Edilar. The group decided it would be best to work with the Watchers who are trying to reopen the trade routes into Edilar. But on top of this Mialee personally wants to help find the missing Princess.

With this new news in mind the group continued on their way. Soon discussion led to Drebb, the missing halfling of Beauty and the Beasts. Could he have been the one behind the merchant's murder? Drebb's timing couldn't be more perfect as he ran up behind the group. The group turned on him demanding to know if Drebb had commited the murder. During their questioning of Drebb a crowd began to build up north of the group. A line of men carrying pikes waded through the crowd and continued on north away from the group. But mentions of pikemen and halflings were enough to frighten the group back into movement.

Snott gave Drebb his disguise. Deciding to take caution to heart the group decided to play the part of a family. Mialee became mother, Mel father, and Drebb became little Debbie, the cute little daughter of a pair of elves. Much to Drebb's lecherous excitement he got to hold Mialee's hand. Snot and Darion tried to pass themselves off as family friends. Yes a goblin was the friend of a family of elves...

The group headed further south along the road in search of place where they could hide their Halfling friend. Eventually the group came to the Temple of The Creator and took refuge there. With the group letting Mialee do the talking they managed to find a place to rest their weary feet within the solarium of the great temple. There the group finally came to believe Drebb that he WASN'T involved in the murder and they settled down to talk about the next step in their plans.

Drebb inquired about the news about Edilar. Mel, fearing hearing the words again, wandered off into the garden where he was set upon by a halfling that was hiding in a tree. The rest of the group hearling Mel's startled scream came running to the rescue. The found Mel facing off with the Halfling who had managed to steal Mel's short sword. A quick Command spell cast by Mialee put an end to the battle and Darion and Drebb quickly tied up the halfling.

The group argued amonst themselves what to do with the halfling until Mialee shut them up. Darion went to get Mel's side of the story while Mialee settled down to listen to what the halfling had to say. Snot ran off to fetch the temple priests and Drebb went about picking up things he had dropped.

The halfling pleaded with Mialee to save him from something or someone. Mialee tried to get him to say more but he suddenly began to choke. The group scrambled to save him but it took the efforts of one temple priest with a knitting needle to save the halfling's life.

Treasure: Many memorable insults, a rest in the beautiful solarium, and the flirtations of a voluptuous tent seller. Plus three bedrolls the tent seller threw in just because she's a sucker for adventurers. Oh and a few "donations" from the faithful (aka unaware) to the poor group fund.

Deaths: One merchant...

Experience: 350 a piece plus applicable 10% bonuses.

Beauty and the Beasts
Session 3

Active Players: Mel'Van, Mailee Stormwhisperer, Drebb du Bois d'Arc, Snotty and a slew of other NPC's

**Summary: The group remained in the temple of the Creator from the last session. Mailee attempted interrogation of the Mute Halfling (MH) while Drebb attempted to eavesdrop, and Mel'van organized the stories with Darion and Snotty to be told to the City Watch. (They never got the chance. . .). Mailee learned much from the Halfling, but he escaped from her into the hands of the City Guards. Or were they? Not is all as it seemed. . .***

**Long Version: Mailee steadfastly defends the halfling against the wishes of the group to torture him and extract information from him the old fashioned way. Drebb thought of a number of clever and persuasive manners to get the halfling to do some talking, but Mailee, in her optimistic viewpoint of humanity decides that a private conversation with MH is in order. With the help of the temple priests, she finds a meditation room where the two of them can. .ahem. .."speak". Mel'van, concerned about Mailee's safety, motions for Drebb to follow and keep an eye on things. So, Drebb follows Mailee and MH at a distance to the room, and posts himself at the wall to listen in.

Meanwhile, Mel'van's version of the story seems agreeable to the group until the matter of healing is brought up. Snotty points out that it was Mel'van who had healed the halfling, but Mel did not seem to want that information passed along to the guards. Why? Hmmm. . . .Snotty agrees to lie on Mel'van's behalf, but may plan to remind Mel about it at a future time.

Mailee continues her questioning with MH, but being tied up tightly in rope tends to have a stifling affect on the bladder, which once released, has the odor of a bad science experiment. The halfling relieves himself during the questioning, and the small room is filled with the stench of halfling pee. Mailee, ever compassionate, takes that as a sign of progress, and asks even harder questions. Drebb, however, is unable to hear the conversation, do to the fact that the room is soundproof. (Clever priests. . .) He makes for the ventilation system, and crawls into position to better hear the discussion inside the room. He notices the halfling get up from the chair at one point and wave his hiney at Mailee, and feels a moment of jealousy, but it soon passes. The halfling indicates downward, trying to tell Mailee something, but Mailee is not able to get the message. Frustrated, Mailee asks aloud if the mute halfling can read and write. Nodding profusely, a new line of communication begins. Offering a pen and parchment, Mailee waits expectantly for the halfling to write his life story. Instead, the halfling stares at her stupidly. A few moments later, Mailee realizes that the ropes are still bound around MH's arms, and removes them from the prisoner. Drebb and the Halfling sigh sadly at the denseness of Elven women.

Hands freed, the muted halfling procures two soggy notes out of his pants pockets. One of the pee-stained notes is a to-do list written by the halfing that bears no importance. The other pee-stained note is a letter written to the Halfling. It reads, "Get the ring from Krebbs. It's better if he dies as well." As Mailee reads the note, and Drebb peers down from above the room, the halfling makes a break for the door. He successfully eludes Mailee, and runs down the corridor. Drebb kicks out the ventilation grate in front of him, and joins in the pursuit.

Mel'van, Snotty and Darion hear the sounds of chaos in the hallway, and leave the solarium to investigate. The fleeing halfling, all party members, and priests arrive at the same point at the same time: Toe to toe with members of the city guard. The guards grab everyone that they can, and hold tightest to The mute halfling.

Mailee begins explaining what the chaos is about, and points to MH as the halfling that killed Krebbs in the marketplace. She also identifies herself and her friends as the ones who captured the halfling. She fails to mention, however, that the halfling had bit off his own tongue, and the guards become agitated when he won't answer any of their questions. They pick him up to shake some answers out of him, and Drebb begins laughing, and tries to explain that the guard has just stuck his hands onto a "freshly soiled halfling". Mailee shakes her head, and explains that the halfling is mute, along with all the other information that she was given during her questioning. Drebb contiues being abusive and insulting, and Mel'van hides around the corner to keep his emotions in check. The guards seem unusually interested in what Mailee knows, and listen attentively to her. Mel'van motions to Drebb to ask about any rewards for the capture, and a new line of conversation is started. The guards become uncomfortable, and begin to hurry the prisoner along. They mention that a reward can be obtained at the guard house the next day, which makes Drebb uncomfortable. The guards leave, and the group seems to realize that something was out of the ordinary. Guards didn't carry reward money! As the thought dawns on them, the group makes for the door in pusuit once again, only to run into more guards. .the REAL guards. Drebb attempts to get passed them, but is forced to slide along the freshly waxed marble floor by a cleverly timed Hold Person spell. Mel'van turns to explain things to the guards, and Mailee alone is left to go into the night to find the halfling and imposter guards. Finding nothing, she returns back into the temple.

Mel'vans explanations go well until he breaks into a mild fit of insanity, and begins screaming, "We could have saved them if only we'd been faster!" The captain of the guard comes into the temple, and sees Mel'van holding his head screaming, Mailee atending to the fallen Drebb, and Drebb accusing her of smelling like halfling pee. Once again, the story is explained to the guards, this time with Mel facing insanity, and a new line of insults from Drebb, who seems smug about calling the guards rascists.
Mailee talks with the guards until a new guard comes along, and announces the discovery of the halfling.. .well, parts of him anyways. He had been skinned and shredded and left in an alleyway. The captain leaves to investigate, with a final warning to the group to not leave town.

Mailee decides that she has had enough for the day, and retires to the resting chambers offered by the priests, while Mel'van and Drebb return to the solarium in hopes of finding the ring that the halfling had been carrying. Finding nothing, they also retire for the night, and the game sesion was called.***

Kills: One shredded halfling, but not killed by the group

Treasure: Some liquid gold created by the halfling, but nobody really wanted it.

Darion

BatB Session 3.1, side session for Darion

Active Player: Darion
NPC Jammer: Mel'Van

Summary: Darion slipped off in the middle of the night to go ask questions about his recurring dream. He got some rough answers and was nearly accosted on the way back, but was saved by an undercover guardsman.

Full Version

Darion awoke once again to that dream. He couldn't get the vision of her out of his mind, nor the vision of her holy symbol. Taking it as a cue as to where to start, he headed for the temple of Anthor, despite the late hour.

He only knew generally where it was though. Once in the right quarter of town, he went into a tavern to ask. Fending off the bartender's well-placed questions, he headed off again with directions and entered the temple. The porter tried to get him to come back in the morning, but hearing part of the story he let Darion in to see Fopshod, the duty priest for the night. Fopshod listened skeptically, then thought it might be a telling of death. He took a description and went through some files, finding an interesting name matching it under Missing in Action: Yemetina Koral of Sernpidal.

Darion sat back in shock at the name. She'd seemed so familiar. Fopshod got into a different file, and found Yemet's bio. "Parents and brother killed," it said, but Darion thought (correctly) that he WAS that brother. He read over and memorized the info they had on her, then started back for the temple of the Creator, despite the time: 4 in the morning.

On the way, a shadowy figure with a short sword accosted him, demanding the ring. Darion tried to come off innocent, not knowing anything about a ring, but gripped a dagger anyway. They attacked at the same time: the figure to kill, Darion to slow him down enough to escape. After two passes without blood, Darion broke into a run, throwing one more dagger (and missing). As the figure gave chase, he was held up by a larger man with a larger sword, who handled him handily. The newcomer told Darion that he was city guard, told to follow any of the group that left the temple, and good thing too. Darion thanked him and made for the temple again, with protection.

Casualty: One shadowy figure killed by the guard.

Treasure: None material

Exp: Standard

Thanks to Mel for jamming the shadowy figure!

Beauty and the beasts
session 4

Active players:All were here, Snot(NPC), Darion, Drebb, Mialee, yours truly Mel'Van and more of them lovible NPC's

Time played: 5 hours

Summery:Going from the Creators Temple to go to the tavern where the halfling killed the man Krebb. The tavern was closed so we go next door to the "Slash, stab and bludgeon." a weapon dealer. The guy was buying and selling stolen goods, we found this out after some of his stuff got stolen. Thanks Drebb, thanks alot.

Long version:

*Mel'van starts off in the garden where everyone is assembled. Eating what the preist brought for then breaksfest. The group eats while discussing what to do next, after a long talk we figuared out that the best spot to look for the ring was to go back to the spot that Krebb died and talk to the guy in the tavern. Of course Mialee the only one of us that Thinks everything should be perfect thinks that all the great evils in the world are connected: The elven princess gone missing, the ring the halfling died because and the murdered man in the street. Drebb being himself tells Mialee that it is her fault that the halfling died and with this Mialee had enough tell the halfling to "shut it!" Mel'van is convinced that this group is going to warp her and almost felt pitty for the elf...almost, in his mind all elves must be evil to kill each other like they did in his memories. As always Darion comes to the rescue of Mialee like a faithful lapdog and tries to change the subject back to the halfling problem. After yet more discussion a guard that Darion seems to reconize from last night comes into that solarium to the group handing Darion a parchment. It reads "I hearby declair that Darion and his companions have been given the rite of passage through which gate they choose to use when leaving Coopersvilleforge. Signed Tranor halbrook Captain of the guard." With that Mel'van took the chance to tell them about leaving again, not that he is scared he just isn't stupid enough to stick around when someone is still looking for that ring. They all tell him that he is a fool and to shut up. Where he replies that they won't listen to him untill tey are all dead...or that is how he remebers it anyways. Then Drebb finally said it the thing that Mel'van didn't want to believe...Mialee was in charge. This ripped Mel'Vans' brian in two after fleeing Edilar he vowed never to trust another elf and now not only did he break that promise he is now fallowing an elf blindly on a tight-rope over sharp jagged spikes with poisonious snakes on them.
After Mel got ahold of himself they were already heading for the front door to go to the tavern where that stupid human got himself killed. Fyree's sun was blessing this day was his heat. The streets were crowded as they made there way to the tavern once there they found it was closed untill a more reasonable time then first thing in the morning. But that didn't stop the group they desided to go next door to the Weapon's Shop "Slash, Stab and Bludgeon and want to ask him about the murder. To Mel's suprise they all file into the shop. (except Drebb who seemed to of disappeared) The shop keeper looks like his face was caught by more then one weapon in his day. After spreading out through the store Mel'van decideds to leave complaining abou the air but before he can a stalky fatso comes into the store with a pakage. mel'van walking by see a hilt of a gem incrusted sword before the man covers it up. At that Mel desides to stay and buisies himself with looking through the shoddy merchandise. The men at the counter talked as if there was no one around talking of Krebb and how he was "out of town." At this point Mialee went intirely insane and approached the men at the desk. Asking about Krebb and a ring she wanted to purchase for her wedding? (mel'van shakes his head at that.) Going on like a fool child that doesn't realize that she could very well be signing her own death warrent and Mel's as well for just being there. And she is flirting of all things! showing off more of herself then nessesary. Melvan shakes his head and gets ready to fight for an elf that he should hate, then to run once more. (so much running in his past never seems to stop.) As the both men realize that she knew Krabb and also knew about a ring they played it safe by saying that he was away and in an hour that the shop owner would take care of it. With this the group left the shop and the door is then bared from the inside. In the street again, Mel'van explodes in fury at Mialee telling her that she was a foolish elf that could of killed them all. He became more enraged when she tells him of his elven lineage and storms off into the ally beside the store. Meanwhile the front door had opened and the stocky man had emerged without the rapped sword. Mel'van took this chance to finally go into the store to purchase his specialty items. But before he can even discuss the price of such wears a certain stupid peck desides that it is the perfect time to brake some of the scared mans items in his back room. before mel can thin the scared man had taken a scimitar out from under the desk and had stormed into the back room and out into the street with Mel in tow. This gave Drebb the chance to get out of his hiding place amoung the boxes in the back room and bolt for the front door passing a now entering Mialee and Darion. As Mel'van returned fallowing behind the man the scared man tells all to leave before he starts chopping head. The mans second mistake was to advance on the elf lady with his sword. Mel'van snaped barring the way between Mialee and the scared man. The man now turned to Mel'van letting the elf and darion to run out into the street. Mel'van noticing that everyone is out of harms way decideds that the man isn't worth his trouble and fallows suit behind the two.
Safe in the street mel'van desides to fallow them, his thought then become foggy for by the time he relizes what is happening they are back at the Inn wherethe started and are arguing over who is to pay the an for the room. Mel'van shakes his head and say he will pay just to stop the guys from bickering telling them that they are foolish to be scawbling over something as useless as money. he goes on for a time on how it is only an object to be used as such. Drebb looked confused and maybe a little scared at the concept. Finally in the room they now come to Drebb and what he "liberated" from that thief. appearently while mel'van was foggy they had argued over who would hold the gem encrusted sword and had come to the conclusen that of all people Mialee should the priest who could hardly lift the bastard sword now has in on her belt! Mel'van thinks it strange on her but something else stirs in his head that says how she looks but pushes it out before it can materialize. As the group go through the rest of the prizes something startling comes to the group...The princess is still missing and all this expencive stuff just happends to show up. Mialee is almost beside herself with the idea and Mel'van doesn't like it anymore becuase if all her close are here, then what is she wearing? As Mel'van ponders these things Darion and Drebb take off to tell the guards of all people about the scared face guy that is dealing in stolen good.

(OOC: ok this is my first Trip ticket. I still don't understand it for the most part so be nice any comments can be adressed to dbullock@csolve.net hand he will relay the info. onto me.)

Casualty: Drebb got smacked up side the head by Mialee but we expect him to pull through...untill I get involved or that scared faced man finds him. Mialee might be coming down sick because she agreed with me twice this session.

Treasure: The letter from the guard, snot got some darts and a buckler, Drebb got golden pantalons, underwear, bastard sword, a box full of grwy and white powder, braclet, necklace, fine sparkling dress whitch he shared with the group. Drebb got an old boot and half a bottle of some liquid...

Exp: 75/hour/level
Drebb and snot (thats right snot)gets 50 bonous for a NW profiancy

Awsome session guys I'm a newbie but it is all so funny I just had to get involved. Anyone with questions or comments can e-mail our DM at dbullock@csolve.net

Session 5

Players- Snot (NPC), Mel'Van, Drebb, Mialee, Grunditharten

Play Time- 5 hours

Summary- The group, excluding Grundi, were attacked by 3 assassins. Snot stripped them. The newest member, Grundi, learned about the 'Slash, Stab, and Bludgeon.' Mel'Van went psychotic for the rest of the session. Ended with 2 members stealing gold and the innkeeper getting mad, the whole group left that inn.

Semi long- The group, excluding Grundi, was about to go to sleep when 3 assassins broke in. A gnome was sitting at the door watching as the assassins broke in trying to decide what to do. Drebb killed two assassins, while the other was killed by Snot. After the assassins were killed, Snot stripped them down and searched them. (What they carried can be found in ’loot’ section.) Mel’Van tried to get at the gnome, but Mialee held him back. Mialee in the end kneed Mel’Van in the crotch so he would go down. Mel’Van had been going off about people being dead and burning until he was kneed fell in pain. Grundi was taken outside the room to talk with Mialee. He was told what this group knew of the murder at the ‘Slash, Stab, and Bludgeon’ and the ring that people are after. Meanwhile, Snot and Drebb were sitting in the room making fun of Mel’Van and his encounter with Mialee’s knee. After a while Grundi and Mialee came back into the room so that Grundi could examine the items. The group was then wondering what to do with the assassin’s bodies. They eventually went and got some sacks from the innkeeper to stuff them into. The group then decided to rest for a few hours, at this time Grundi went back to his room. After studying and resting the group rejoined, where upon Mel’Van went psychotic. He stood up licked a bloody bag and floated a ways out of the room before he fell. Mel’Van asked where he was before he went on again about how everyone was dead and going to burn. Mialee and Drebb were trying to calm down Mel’Van and learning about his problems when he shot flames from his fingers near the group. Snot, seeing the flames, ran and hid under Ignar, Grundi’s mule. Grundi found Snot and they went back into the inn. After very little persuasion from Grundi, Snot decided to go and steal the group’s money back from the innkeeper since he charged them so much. While Grundi and Snot were in the common room Mialee and Drebb had tackled a running Mel’Van. Upon tackling them it was seen that Mel’Van had some weird burn scars that moved around on the top of his head. In the common room, Snot had broken a chair so that Grundi could carve on some wood. Grundi made Snot a wooden key. After some talking the group heard the innkeeper yelling about a robbery. At this point Grundi and Snot left the inn and went outside, the others then grabbed their belongs and heading into the common room. The innkeeper accused Drebb of stealing his gold and threatened to call the guard. Drebb, playing on the innkeeper’s stupidity, told him that he knew the guard and would go get the guard himself. The innkeeper agreed angrily as the group left the inn and headed off to somewhere else.

Loot- 3 sets of leather armor (human sized), 10 daggers, 3 short swords, mace, 13 gold (10gp from the innkeeper), 8 silver and 10 coppers.

Beauty and the Beasts

Session 6

hours:4

Titled: Slash, Stab and Blodgeon Flambé.

Players: The entire group Snot(NPC), Grundi, Mialee, Darion, Drebb and Melvan

Short Version: The group went back to the ransacked store of Slash, stab and Blodgeon. the group found a secret trap door. Drebb discovered Mel stashing somthing and wrestle him to the ground. After finding the caltrops in Mels pocket Melvan went nuts and burnt down a wall. As everyone ran outside away from him Mel discovered a tunnel with some zombies in it. He then burnt the whole building down trying to kill them.

Long Version: After a sleepless night at the Inn with the assasins and all, Mel and the group desided that taking and despossing of the bodies would be better then going to the Watch which has aready seen them way to much after a halfling killed a man, then died in return and assasins after Darion for a ring know one knows about. So they took them to the one place where someone might not link anything back to them. The Slash Stab and Blodgeon where the man is already wanted for questioning. Mel fallowed the group with bags of severed limbs over his shoulder and passed a group of guards the Mialee "took care of." Mel shakes his head at that. "That elf is going to get us killed one day." was what a now small voice in his head had said.
After a quick walk throw the still asleep city Mel walks with the band to the back of the store where Drebb couldn't pick the lock. Mel laughed silently at that. "stupid peck will get us killed one day" is what Mel said to himself. After a quick Scuffle Snot opens the door and the small group files inside with the dead bodies. After throwing his to the floor Darion says that the floor sounded hallow and continued by trying to pry a floor board up. While Drebb went a different way and found a trap door under a crate now filled with the sac-o-limbs that had been put in there.
Mel lite a torch and peered into the hole where he saw the bottom and jumped down lucky for him he missed all the caltrops that where scattered about. Mel always wanted caltrops since half his group was made up of thieves so he tried to stash them into a pouch while making up excusise why the rest should come down. Drebb Saw Mel stick something into his pocket and thought it might be the allusive ring that everyone is looking for.
That is when Drebb went nuts attacking Melvan and took him to the group with him on top after a quick skirmish Drebb holds down Melvan while Mialee who joined up with the group by then (who knows what she did to the...or for the guards)While Mialee checked his pocket and found only the caltrops.
Mel was very nice up to that point of time, afterwards he got mean. Mel told the group that he couldn't trust anyone and that he know they were all conspiring to kill him. He never realized that he had taken a viel of greek oil from his pouch the voices in his head told him they had to die it was them or him. Mel did the only thing he could do, he through the viel at a wall. The opposite wall away from the group to let them escape while he still sat there laughing.
You see Mel figuared there was a secret door or something behind the far wall and he also knew that he had to get rid of the group if he was going to take whatever was on the other side for himself and forget the group altogether. In theory it worked after he throw the viel the group ran as fast as they could away from him up the ladder and out of the back of the store. Even more incredible was that there was in fact a door on the other side of that wall. Mel laughed again. He picked himself up off the ground and walked over where the fires died out from where the oil hit.
Mel did the only thing he could do (since someone *cough* Drebb *cough* shut the trap door closeing him in) he opened the door. On the other side teh smell was terrible it must of been the sewers but on top of that there was two people down there coming his way. Mel wanted to see who they were but they didn't show up on his infervision which made Mel shut the door and brace himself up against it.
Meanwhile on the surface streets Mialee went insain crying into Darions shirt about how Mel ment to kill them and that she hoped (of all things hoped) that he dies down in the basement. Drebb watched her cry and...well we all knew Drebb wasn't all bad (don't tell him that though.) since Drebb went back to see if Mel was alive. Mel heard the scaping from above and he thought of the worst...The owner was back. That was the only reason that someone would be up there since his "friends" left him to burn. but on the other side of the door something was pushing at it making the door open little by little Mel had one chance. He bolted for the trap door which was now being opened. Mel looked up to see the same halfling that earlier tried to kill him (in Mels mind) so Mel hesitated and looked back to see that the two people behind him where zombies.
If Mel had time to laugh he would of, Either way he went he would be dead but if he climbed the ladder he might be able to get away. So without looknig back Mel climbed the ladder, after he did so Drebb kicked it down to keep the zombies at bay. Mel decided that he has had enough of all of this and did something that must of made Fyrrre proud. He through down another viel of greek oil down the hole. The zombies ignited will a flash of flame. but that wasn't enough for Mel. He wanted to make sure they were dead so he started pushed crates full of severed limbs down onto of the zombies to feed the fire. But wait there was more that still wasn't enough for the crazed flame warrior he started a fire in the room above to make sure that the things down below were good and roasted. After Drebb, Grundi and Mel got out of the building the group walked fast through the streets to the markets where no one was still setting up shop yet.
Some how Darion got talking about how he should check in with Halbrook a watch guard. mialee was still out of it and Mel being the nice guy he is said "that maybe she should get some rest" but of course no one listens to the elf that just killed two zombies with nothing more then a flaming building. So Mel walks with the group still mummbling about how some rest would be great.

High points: Mel traped with two zombies was pretty funny expecally after he called the rest of the group fool.

Low points: Mel traped with two zombies after he called the rest of the group fool.

Casualty: Two zombies that Mel hopes are dead after he set them and the building that fell on them on fire.
Mialee has more mental damage now. Mel takes a note that he should be a little calmer around her untill she tries to kill him again then he will have proof.

Treasure:Caltrops (something Mel always wanted)

Experiance: 65/hour/level + bonus's

Mialee
Player
 12:49 on June 14, 2001
Beauty and the Beasts

Session 7

Length: 4 hours

Entitled: Dousing the Flame

DM: Prophet

Players: Mialee, Mel'Van, Drebb, Grundi, Snot (NPC), and Darion (was played by our DM).

A Summary:

The group split up so that they could find an Inn and to go talk to the Captain of the Guard. The group was hired by the Captain to investigate possible Burning Arm activity in the sewers and was informed that the IMG were coming to take Mel'Van into custody for treatment. Grundi attempted to get more info on the sewers. Finally Mel went nuts again and is in the process of being caught by the IMG unless the group can save him.

A Not So Summary:

Drebb, Darion, and Grundi set off to meet with the Captain of the city guard after the bonfire at the Slash Stabb and Bludgeon. This left Mialee alone with Mel’Van and Snot. Snot really didn’t count though. He doesn’t speak much. With a sigh Mialee followed Mel and Snot back to the Cozy Inn. Mialee and Mel made small talk cautiously trying to avoid upsetting each other. Snot followed along like a good little lap dog. At the Cozy Inn the trio were assaulted by the flaming homosexuality of the Inn’s proprietor. Mialee’s cheeks went red and she stuttered as she thought that the proprietor thought that Mel and Mialee were involved. Her stutters turned to chuckles as the proprietor explains that he was speaking of Mel and Snot not Mel and Mialee.
After acquiring rooms for the evening Mel left Mialee alone for the rest of the day. The two priests spent their time meditating with their Gods. However, Mialee, as caught up with worrying about the situation she’s in, forgot to ask for Aerie to bless her with spells. Mel, as paranoid as ever, traps his window by laying caltrops on the floor just inside the window to guard against unwanted entry. The rest of the afternoon went smoothly until the other three returned from their foray into the heart of the city guard.
Meanwhile…
The three stooges arrive at the Guard House.
After the guard at the reception desk tells them to wait to see the Captain of the Guard the three find a bench to sit on. Grundi, as inquisitive as ever, attempts over and over to see if the jail was run by the OOS or not. Turns out it’s just the Royal Guards for the city. Finally after some arguing between themselves the Captain arrives and escorts the three into his office.
The three report some information that the Captain would be interested in hearing. The Captain listens, appearing not to be very impressed. Then, having heard enough of out Drebb, Grundi and Darion, the Captain shows the three just how much he already knew. Finally the Captain hires the group to investigate the sewers of Coopersvilleforge to discover if the Burning Arm guild is using the massive network of tunnels to get in and out of the city without being noticed.
There was one problem though. The Captain knew that Mel’Van had burnt down the Slash Stab and Bludgeon. He insisted that Mel be handed over to the IMG for studying and revealed that he had arranged for the IMG to pick Mel up. The Captain feared that Mel might be suffering from a mental disorder. He also said that it would be unwise in the first place to take a Flamewarrior into the methane gas filled chambers of the sewers. The Captain was also nice enough to warn the group of flame spewing toads that are rumored to lurk in the depths of the sewers.
Intrigued by the idea of flame belching toads Grundi insists on questioning an IMG wizard about a patient of his whom had survived a supposed toad attack. The interview is short due to the wizard’s apparent affliction of insanity. The wizard appeared to have taken on the fear that crippled the poor guard who barely survived his trip into the depths of Coopersvilleforge.
Still astounded by the story of toads, Grundi requested some private time to do some research and right a report of his own. Drebb and Darion allowed Grundi some time and said they would meet the illusionist back at the Cozy Inn.
That night…
The Inn’s proprietor asked Drebb and Darion upon arrival at the Cozy Inn if there was any ass he could grab. After a moment of confusion and explanation the two thieves were escorted up to the two rooms reserved for the group. Drebb, having heard Mialee in her room, opened the door and leaped up on to one of the beds. Thankfully for Mialee, Drebb landed on one of the two empty beds. But the noise the pint sized thief made was enough to wake up the elf. After more confusion on Mialee’s part Darion and Drebb explained the job they were hired to do. Of course they managed to confuse and anger Mialee again when they explained the upcoming “betrayal” of Mel’Van. Finally the group decided that Mel needed to know what was going to happen to him despite the expected bout of insanity that would follow.
Mel’Van’s reaction was what the group expected. He flipped for what must have been the hundredth time since the group’s acquaintance with the fiery elf began. Mel thought that everyone was trying to kill him including Mialee who knew little more than Mel did about the approaching captors.
Finally Mialee grew tired of all of Drebb and Darion’s secrecy and refused to take part any sort of betrayal. Drebb, Darion and Mialee argued for a few moments. The climax being Drebb asking Mialee to examine his ear which, he thought was plugged. Sure enough it was. Suddenly the group noticed that Mel’Van had disappeared. In frustration Mialee began to storm out of the room when Drebb noticed a bright light coming from the street outside the window. With a group sigh of “Oh no!” they all ran for the street.
Skidding to a halt the whole group was surprised to see a large number of IMG mages casting powerful magics around Mel in order to imprison him. Mel was cursing his head off in a vain attempt to stop the mages and priests that had gathered to take the crazy elf into custody.
Becoming increasingly angered by what she was seeing Mialee rose her holy symbol and her voice in an attempt to ward off the encroaching IMG agents. Little did she know that her threats would not be backed up by the power of her god…

High Points: The Inn Keep assuming that Mel and Snot were a couple. Drebb assuming he could get into the pants of Mialee just by leaping into her room... fourtunately he jumped on the wrong bed.

Low Points: Witnessing the power of a group of high level IMG mages... and deciding to face them down.

Extra Low Point: Being forced by Mialee to read this novel of a TT. You're welcome guys. You can thank me later. Smiley

Treasure: 100 gold to be split amongst the group. 400 more to come on completion of the assigned task of investigating the sewers.

Casualties: None... yet.

XP: 70/hour/level + bonuses.

Drebb
Player
 11:41 on June 21, 2001
Beauty and the Beasts, #8

Game Time: 3 1/2 hours

Active Players: Mailee, Grunditharian, Darion, Drebb, Snotty (NPC), and Mel'van, the boy in the bubble. . .

Short Version: Mel'van floats helplessly in a bubble, Mailee and Darion confront the IMG mages and priests holding Mel captive, Drebb and Snotty disappear into the shadows in different directions, and Grundi experiences high amounts of guilt. After Mel is taken away by the mages for "rehabilitation", the group confronts each other in the Cozy Inn, driving Mailee to a nervous breakdown. . .

Details: Mel'van is held within a magical sphere that is slowly being filled with water, extinguishing his gifts as a follower of Fyrre. Mailee stands resolutely in front of the mages, Darion by her side, and glares at the captors of her elven comrade. She holds her holy symbol in her hand, and all present could see that something rash was about to happen. (That, and the fact we were all warned last week. . .) Snotty runs into the shadows due to cowardice, and Drebb bravely searches the gathering crowd for the ever-present tattoo; That of the Burning Arm.

Mailee stubbornly demands the release of Mel, due to the fact that Tranor Halbrook, the Captain of the City Watch, had given Darion a "permission to leave town" slip. (The note was given after the chaos of the slain halfling from Sessions 2 and 3.) The note was no longer valid since Darion, Drebb and Grundi had sold Mel to Halbrook for study from the IMG, and Halbrook was collecting on the arrangement. (As Snotty mentioned, we DID get a very good price for him. . .)

Meanwhile, Grundi sits in the halls of the IMG, wondering if his report to his superiors should call for the execution of Mel, or simply his 'treatment'. Unable to decide, he leaves the building, and makes his way to the square where Mel is currently being captured.

Mailee asks repeatedly what the mages have planned for Mel, and receives the answer that a Gnomish machine will be used to fix Mel, and that it shouldn't hurt too much. Pain from electrical shock is merely temporary. . .Mailee states that she cannot, in good conscience allow this to happen, and begins to pray over her symbol. Unfortunately, she was casting a 2nd level spell on high level clerics and mages, and forgot about the saving throw bonuses. . .They saved. A Silence spell was immediately cast onto Mailee, Darion, and the innocent Grundi, who just happened to wander into the spell radius. Mailee, unable to speak aloud, was reduced to swearing in elven (Read Lips ability needed), and to glaring at the mages. She made a move to physically assault the captors, but was restrained by Darion and Grundi, who held her back tightly.

Drebb continues his search for the tattoo, but unable to locate one, turns his attention to the activity in the square. Noticing a full regiment of the City Guard standing to the rear of the group, he decides to remain unseen for a bit, and slinks bravely into the shadows. Observation purposes, naturally. . .

A priest assisting with the capture shows a symbol of Celenia to Mailee and Darion, and promises that Mel will not be harmed. Mailee relents unwillingly, and turns away quickly, running back into the inn where she locks herself in her room. Darion watches her leave, and Grundi begins drooling over the awesome display of power shown by the mages in the brief altercation. The two begin discussing the 'mind fixing' machine, and Grundi reveals the nature of Mel's treatments as they make their way back into the Inn. Briefly interrupted by the ass-grabbing proprietor of the Inn, they enter into the 2nd room rented by the group.

Drebb, after deciding the coast is clear of any more assasination attempts (Session 5), bravely makes his way back to the room to meet with Darion and Grundi. Immediately, and in true Drebb fashion, accusations are launched at Grundi for Mel's betrayel, and the threats that death will occur if the gnome sells any more of the group. Grundi responds that death of an IMG mage will result in the death of the attacker. Drebb responds that he is more than willing to make it look like an accident. . .

The two continue arguing while Darion tries to sort the truth from the lies when Mailee politely knocks on the door, and then impolitely threatens all the members of the group with the elven sword (Session 4). Hysterically, she admits that she had heard the arguments from the other side of the wall. She made a point, but honestly, nobody remembers what it was. . .Darion calmly tried to talk her into relinquishing the mystical sword, and Drebb and Grundi had a sudden reparation of their relationship, discussing everything from Mel's insanity to the creation of ear wax..

The night ended with Drebb going to bed with his boots on, Grundi inviting himself to stay in a room he didn't pay for, and Darion comforting Mailee like a true gentleman.

Treasure: None, unless you count losing an insane, fireworshipping elf as a good thing.

After More walking They lead the elf in the bubble to a room with a gnome and a big honken machine. The wizards then drain the water out of the sphere and replace it with knock out gas, untill Mel is asleep.

When Melvan finally wakes he is straped to the machine. Wires come from a hat that sits on Mel's head up to a big pole with a metal circle sphere at the top. Suddenly the gnome inventor scurries away and convoltions rock the elf as the mages cause lighting to hit the top of the sphere. Back arched, all his muscles strain the relax as the volts continue. His eyes started to fog as the electricity coursed through his brain, an endless fog of grey where light and darkness don't exsist just the fog.

Strange things can happen in the fog, Mel could hear distant voices though the fog blanketed them as they did the objects. Melvan saw his father The man that died defending the elves. he saw his mother weeping over the two empty beds now that he and his father are gone. He stuggled to get free of the fog, stuggled to see light and darkness. Once he came too he had no idea where he was, what happend, who these guys were around him, where all his stuff is, why is he in the funny jacket with the long sleaves tied behind his back. After several moment of them telling him he was there for treatment they left with Mel yelling at them with more questions and telling them that his compainions would come for him....So there he sits trying to contimplate what was happening and how he was going to get out

((side note Electric Shoke Theripy can leave a person without a shoert term memory, that is why he doesn't know what happend))

High points: in this session?...yeah i'm so sure.

low points:The whole session was one, but I think being charged like a battery would be a deffenant low point.

Treasure: 1 Straight jacket (it's so soft against his skin.)

Beauty and the Beasts, #8.2 (Mellowing the Mel'van)

Active players: Melvan. (NPC's) apprentise girl, Tigwell (a mage)

Shrot Version:
Mel'van scares a apprentise after she tells him where he is. Tigwell is talking to Mel about this and that and the other for a while untill Melvan gets mad and bounces off the padded door. After while he has lunch with the girl he scared and is broguht back to his prison.

Long Version:
Mel'van passes the time by looking out the small window in the door out into the hallway. As people walk by Mel'van gets ones attention and asks her to come over. He asks where he is and who she is. When he hears he is in the belly of the IMG in coopersville, he explodes telling her to run away from the place and away from the IMG.

After she walks away (hurriedly) Tigwell (his jailer so it seems) comes and asks questions and for answering the questions Mel'van would get to light his own candle. (Mel thinks it is great, for where there is fire, there is Melvan) Melvan comprimises with the man so that fist Mel asks his question then the man his and if Mel'van did like the questions he didn't have to answer them. Mel asked where he was, why he was here and who Tigwell was.

He answered that Mel was in the IMG. He was here for treatment...something to do with electrical pulses of the brain Mel didn't catch it... And Tigwell says "This little project was placed in my care." He sighs, "though I'm as new to these techniques as any." Tigwell then continues to ask his questions. Stupid ones in Mel's mind ones that they already know the answers to.

"they are trying to wear you down" comes a voice from the back of Mels head. tigwell asks about how he got the scares (Mel didn't answer that one.) asked about how he felt about mages (Mel took this time to talk about how they are going to die.) and finally he asks about his Mel's family (Mel answers him by running into the padded door, and telling him that he is done talking about the questions.)

A few hours pass and Mel is taken for a meal. Mel doesn't know what meal it is or what time of day it is. His escorts consisted of a strong sober man and the apperentise girl that he scared off earlier. Shaking his head Mel refuses the strong guys help to walk and walks himself down the hall to the feeding room. In the room he sees another patrol being feed by someone and it dawns on him that the straight-jacket he is wearing won't allow him to eat on his own and the apperentise is to feed him.

One fairly clean meal later Mel is seen cringing as he apologises to the apperentise for his earlier actions and is lead back to his cell where the promise of his candle is waiting. after a few words Mel is found smiling just for being allowed to light it. tears role down his eyes as he thought that Fyrre might have abandon him but at the sight of the flame he knows he has not.

High points: Brain washing has started to take effect, Mel can now continue on a conversation with someone that wields magic.

Low points: he thinks his new jacket chaffs.

treasure: a harty bowl of veggy soup and crackers

Drebb
Player
 14:01 on June 27, 2001
Session #9
Beauty and the Beasts

Active Players: Grunditharen, Mailee, Darion, Drebb and Snotty (NPC)

**Short Version: The party, after realizing that Mel is gone, decides to get the task of investigating the tunnels underway. They return to the burned rubble that WAS the weapons shop, relocate the door, and drop into the sewers.**

**Detailed Version: Each party member dealt with Mel's capture in his own way as they sat in the Cozy Inn: Grundi appeared slightly relieved that the maniacal elf was finally gone, and seemed to worry now about how to get past the innkeeper; a man who had a real passion for gnomes. Drebb awakened chatty and excited, and his eyes gleamed as he considered the adventure about to be started. Darion began organizing details on how and where to begin, and Mailee sulked in her room, moody and distant after the previous night. Snotty. . .heh heh, poor Snotty. In all the excitement Snotty had been locked out of the room and had been forced to spend the night with the innkeeper. He was vague on the details as to what had gone on between the two of them, so he delicately changed the subject to one rather personal to Grundi: An IMG mage had been found poisoned at the guild hall, and the mages suspect one of the new, low-level mages. Grundi appeared ignorant of the whole event, so Drebb patiently explained that Grundi was a savage murderer, and that Grundi must be anxious to get started into the tunnels, where the IMG couldn't find him. More information was passed before Darion made the call to leave, and the sullen Mailee was asked to join the group from the other room.

Unsure as to where to start, Drebb and Grundi actually agreed that the best door would be the one that they had already discovered: The secret door beneath the weapons shop. They made their way to the charred remains of the building, and discovered a guard awaiting their arrival. The floor of the building was in poor shape, so Darion bravely dropped into the basement first, and landed safely in a pile of ash that cushioned his fall. The rest of the party made their way down Drebb's rope, that was conveniently provided by Snotty. (Don't ask. . .) Drebb lit a torch while Darion and Grundi struggled to clear the doorway into the tunnels.

Once the way was clear, the party dropped one by one into muck, mire and waste that was almost knee deep for the group, a little deeper for the shorter members of the party. Darion led, and the rest of the group followed in various formation. All but Mailee searched the walls for signs or markings of the Burning Arm, but there was nothing to be seen.

Suddenly, Darion began to slip and slide forwards in the tunnel, and began to fall into a hole that had developed in the floor, and had remained unseen under a year's worth of manure. Flailing wildly, he was grabbed by Snotty who also began sliding towards the hole. snotty held fast, though, and pulled Darion back to safety.

Drebb then suggested that a rope belt might be wise in case of other holes or dangers, and volunteered his rope again, which snotty didn't appreciate: Crap stains don't come out of silk ropes very well. The decision was made, and the party tied themselves to each other with a comfortable length, and started off again, this time with Drebb in the lead.

He first explored the hole that Darion had almost fallen into, and discovered that it ran all the way to the left wall. Changing direction, he made his way along the right wall where a foot wide pathway still existed. Grundi, however, wanted to try the left side anyways, and started that direction despite Drebb's warnings.

Imagine, if you will, nearly drowning in a botomless pit of manure, bile and human excrement. I'll give you a minute to ponder that. . .

Yellow chunks of something floated towards the top as Grundi sank towards the bottom. Air bubbles appeared in the viscuous fluids as Grundi fought for air that wasn't available. His lungs filled with what WAS available, and the air bubbles on the surface grew more urgent as he swallowed mouthfuls of the human waste.

Reacting quickly, Mailee and Snotty pulled the rope taught, and dragged Grundi out of the piss pit towards a solid ledge, where he spat and coughed, and his lungs released the fluids he had just obtained. His stomach released some fluids also, and he paled as he vomited repeatedly. (Literature is beautiful, isn't it?)

Drebb, angry at Grundi for making such a careless error, began pondering the taste and smells of the waste out loud, causing Grundi to again became nauseous. The torture continued by Drebb, stubbornly trying to teach Grundi the difference between left and right, and Grundi resolutely refusing to admit making any such mistake. Grundi began returning the insults hurled by Drebb, and the party took that as a sign that Grundi was again healthy enough to proceed. Drebb challenged Grundi to be the lead guinea pig, and a postion switch occurred, Grundi now leading the way.

The group began to wonder as they walked if the Burning Arm truly DID use the sewers as a means of passage, since no markings or signs of use had been seen. That's when Darion and Drebb simultaneously discovered a clue: Traps that had been left in the waste. The two stepped into iron traps that resembled bear traps, and both screamed as the steel jaws tore into their legs. Drebb dropped to his rear, and immediately pulled the trap from his flesh, while Grundi struggled to assist Darion. Unable to muscle the trap off, Drebb limped to Darion to help remove the trap. The party rested at that spot to determine the amount of damage inflicted by the traps. (Yes, we're resting in liquid waste. . .)

Treasure: Watching Grundi vomit repeatedly

Exp: 75/lvl/hr

(Personal observation: Prophet painted a very descriptive picture of Grundi's drowning plight, and I will need to seek therapy to remove the visions from my head. Great game, Prophet! Sick, but fun. . .)

Mel'van
Player
 20:27 on June 29, 2001
Beauty and the Beasts #9.1 (Wacked out Flame Worrior)

Active Players: Melvan

short version:
Mel falls into a deep sleep from the drugs they sliped into his soup. He dreams that he is suspended over his body and that he is taken away to a room where a priest and his jailer examine his scars. After a quick look see a spell is casted and Mel remembers his past.

Long version:
Melvan stares into his for hours looking into the flame being lost in thier flicker. For hours he was at peace untill he fell into a deep sleep. When he wakes up he notices that he is no longer in his own body but is suspended above it looking down from the highs. An effect that the drugs they used on him cause. (damn soup!)

Before Mel can figuare it out the door to his cell is opened and his jailer/mage Tigwell walks in with a priest of Celenia and hall Melvan's sleeping body out. The suspended version of Mel had no chose but to fallow. (really he didn't it was as if pulled along with invisible strings) They stopped at a room and lock the doors. For thier protection or Mel's he doesn't know.

Once in the room the priest starts to check the scars that Mel has sustained on the back of his head. The priest casts a detect evil or curse (Mel wasn't sure) spell saying that they were not caused by fire alone and is almost blinded with the flash of bright light coming from Mels scares. after recovering from the shock of such a power he says "this was not made by a priest."

It is now Tigwell's turn as he casts his detect magic spell he too has to look away but does not seemed shocked at what he finds. He tells the priest that there is many spells wolven down into the very soul of Melvan that if they try to remove even one Melvan would surely die. After that the mage had one last spell to cast, one that was more horrifying that Mel could hardly handle it it was a spell that triggered his memories.

Flashes of Melvan's memory danced before his eyes as if it was happening all over again. He could feal the pain of his charred skin and the bruises of his side as if he had fallen down a pit. Memories of being on Norben Island. Of being lead away from his fathers remains. Memories of his fathers last words before his death "Oh crap another fireball!" His captures elves like none he had seen before but had nightmears about since he was told thier name. Elves of the deep, underworld dwellers now had him being dragged off. Stuggling against them was futial the male dark elves dragged him away to a leader who then sent him away to another elf this one a usal elf.

Kneeling over a corpes of a dead elf he doesn't notice Melvan untill Mel speekes demanding who he is and what he is doing here? The man replies that he was exciled from edilar by the elders one of which was Mel's father. Mel is furious at the man for what he has done to his own people. Then the man tells Mel'van something totally unbelievable, He was going to distroy the Lunar Trees. Mel'van can't beleave what he is hearing he tells the elf that even thinking of that was treason and punishable by death. If he harmed one tree he would be kept alive for the soul purpose of torture. The elf thinks this is ironic since that is exactly what Melva is going to be there for.

Strapping Mel to a table the pain begain with the shaving of Mel's head. Mel din't take well to this since it was what this mad man wanted Melvan thrashed about trying to exscape. This caused the razor to slip and draw blood, the elf could not work with the blood so he used a different razor, one the seared as in cut leaving the back of Mel's head covered in scars. That was only a taste of what happend to Mel'van most often then not Mel was uncousious from the pain but when the man finally stopped several days later Mel was nothing but a shell. Leaving him the elf tells him of revenge and to forget this whole thing. Melvan next woke up on the north shores of Norben Island and witnessed the distruction of the lunar trees he saw them burning with flames that touched the sky, and Mel ran.

The memories poored into Mel's mind as he woke in his cell wailing on what he now remembered his past so bright the wounds throbbing like they had been given to him yesterday, and always the picture of his fathers death and the lunar trees burning. Still late that night Tigwell awakens and quickly goes to the cell where Mel is kept, he finds the flame worrior shivering and shaking his head. Tigwell asks "Do you remember anything?" Mel's only reply is "Everything."

High points: Mel trippen out on Alderian vision weed.

Low points: Mel taken back to the point where his world shattered.

Treasure: Mel's memories

((This is Mel's last session for almost 2 month, it was a good one and leave him open for when he returns. Lets just hope that the rest of the group doesn't kill itself off, because then Mel would be stuck in here a long time.))

Beauty and the Beasts 10

Active players: Darion, Drebb, Grundi

*Short: They proceeded through the sewers, finding in this order: caltrops, a spider, a brothel, and a way out.*

Long Version:
The group continued with healed legs, walking more carefully. Nevertheless, Drebb managed to spike himself on a caltrop buried in the muck. Looking for a dry place, they came across a hole in the ceiling. The purpose of this hole was confirmed by a projectile coming through it (missed everyone, luckily) and Mialee found a hidden door. A giant spider had to be dealt with (biting Grundi first) before the door could be opened. Taking shelter there to examine Drebb's foot, they then examined the room they were in. Darion found a laundry bag of soiled sheets, and Drebb, listening through the upstairs door, discovered just what sort of establishment they were it. Wisely, the group proceeded.

Not long after, they came to a ladder going up to a storm drain. The spider venom was starting to get to Grundi, so they piled back into the streets (in a rainstorm now) and took off for the temple of the creator, Darion holding Grundi's ale just out of reach. For a fee, they got the poison neutralized, and Drebb noticed that one of the warehouses around where they'd emerged was lit but the windows were blocked... soon they will investigate further.

The Good: Very long session.

The Bad: Almost losing Grundi to the spider.

The Ugly: Projectiles from the ceiling of the sewer....

Treasure: None.
