IC Date: 5/6/731 (Winterish)
RL Date: 1-28-02
PC’s Present: Corwin, Quillian, Suleidan
NPC’s Present: Bren, Greathen the Innkeeper, and The Mayor, Gravini

Location: Small Hamlet, Thantry, South of Lesserd Forest

Description of the game: Our First Session, meeting of the members, a snippet of what is to come... Our first 'assignment'.

Short Version: After some days travel in Tuth, South of the Lesser Forest, Suleidan and Quillian find themselves on a small hamlet, which seems to have come into some sort of Calamity. They are introduced to Corwin, this towns one, if not only, adventurer type person, who teams up With Suleidan and Quillian to search out the reason for the missing children, and adults of the Hamlet.

Long Version: ( Point of view = Suleidan's )

Having departed from Springstonion Town's Forge, and thus our group, Quillian and I have travelled on into Tuth towards the Lesser Forest. Getting out on my own has seemed to do me well, and I have taken the opportunity to get to know Quillian a little better.

After a few days travel, We came upon a small hamlet, around high sun... Being that this was the first such place we have come upon since we left the town, we decided it would be good to warm our bones, and try to get a bite to eat. The weather has been relentless outside, Snow on the ground, wind biting at the bones... This seems to be one of the hardest winters this area has experienced in awhile...

Qullian on her Pony, and I on my faithfull steed dolled into town, ... only to shortly find the center of this small village crowded which what seems like every inhabitant of the village. Tieing our horses, Quillian and I edged towards the crowd, and listened in... Corwin could be spotted coming nearly at the same time, but from opposite direction, and he was the first we heard speak.

It seems he was away from his village for some time, adventuring, becoming a man, I don't know... but he was back, and it seemed the village needed him. Three children had gone missing, and then two of their's father went missing whom search for them. The village speaker Bren thought they had gone off to the hallows' which even the Adults shy away from because they are haunted with the spirits of Dead Bandits who used to roam upon them... Not long after 2 more adults who searched for these children, (and their father) went missing, and a note was put upon the door of one of the men's houses, with his own dagger, stating that they wanted a five gold ransom per person...

So, the story was explained, and both Quillian and I seemed ... willing to investigate it further, to say the least... as It promised a warm bed for a few nights to come, and probably a few healthy meals, at the very least. The mayor took Corwin and both of us, back into a private area of the Inn, and while sipping some fine gnomish brandy, he told us everything he knew about what was going on... and in simple words told us that even a five gold ransom would nearly put the village into misery... The village was being hit very hard by the winter it seemed... Along with the loss of the 3 working adults, it seemed that the village was in quite a calamity.

I volunteered to help out, and Corwin ... as should be expected I guess, was going to help as well... Quillian came along with me, perhaps out of duty, but perhaps she cared for the villagers as well, I do not know. We finished our meals and brandy, and quickly departed towards the Hallows', Which upon finding them, were smoothly carved limestone caves, carved by the very streams that had run within and around them. There were many caves, some the size of a fist, and some as large that a man on horse back could enter (though they did not stay that large for long... ).

A few of the caves appeared trapped.. I myself succombed nearly to both the traps we encountered, and got quite cut up by some metal barbs that were attatched to the wall of a rather narrow tunnel... We found somewhat deep into the caves that there was a chasm which separated the close to 'above ground' part to a ... part that's contents are unknown... The chasm was 20 feet apart or so, and I already have an idea of how to traverse it, but I felt it best we investigate what is easily gotten to first. Upon searching some of the other caves on this side of the chasm we encountered some sort of terrible being, that was quite quick, and equally sneaky... Tried to take out my left eye with a little javelin it did... We ran around trying to find it for awhile, to no avail, and that is about when we decided to take this break, and sit down by the fire, and get a drink from the stream, before we head deeper into the hollows...

IC Date: 5/6/731 (Winterish)
RL Date: 2-04-02
PC’s Present: Corwin, Quillian, Suleidan
NPC’s Present: 6 towsfolk and some pesky midgets
Location: The Hollows (natural limestone caverns) near a
small town called Thantry, South of Lesserd Forest

Description of the game: Our second session, finishing off our first real task.

Short version: Corwin, Quillian and Suleidan investigated the caves of The Hollows searching for the missing townsfolk. After some more pestering by the unseen pains in the butt, two skirmishes took place. The two foot midgets found Suleidan to be more than a match and several paid with their lives. After taking some names and kicking a little midget behind, the three rescue the townsfolk and parley with the rest of the creatures.

Long version: Having difficulty cornering the pesky little buggers who set up some traps and tried to take out Suleidan's eye with a mini javelin, the group decides to split up and each take a separate cave, hoping to flush out the critters and possibly corner them. Corwin and Quillian found nothing but cold, wet walls before meeting up in the large, central cave. Suleidan, however, found a nice, sharp dart in his arm. Taking off his kiddie gloves he unleashed a fireball that charred three little buggers. Corwin and Quillian could see the results as the bodies shot out into the main cavern.

Searching the corpses, Corwin finds a few coppers and a bundle of darts that Suleidan is interested in, but no blow gun to go with it. Quillian also finds a few coppers on the other bodies. Suleidan then tended to his wound. The group then turned their attention to how to cross the 20 foot chasm.

While forming a plan, Quillian motions to many pairs of red eyes across the cavern. A mass of rats is seen piling around each other. Suleidan lights a torch and lobs it to the other ledge. While further discussing Corwin's plan to cross the gap, more two-foot tall creatures show up across the chasm.

Suleidan threatens the creatures, and Corwin joins in. The midgets only laughed in response. Corwin continued to threaten the buggers, but they respond by threatening to kill the captives and eat them unless they are given "your shiny yellow."

Though the ransom was set at 5 gold per captive, Suleidan offers 5 gold for the lot. The offer is rejected after some slow math by the midgets. Their boss wants thirty gold. Corwin suggests they bring their boss to deal with him directly. He then whispers to Suleidan his plan of killing the boss to scatter the others. The midgets overhear Corwin's intentions but Suleidan saves the negotiations.

The dealing continues with the group trying to convince the midgets that 5 gold would buy them a lot of food. The midgets retort that the captives themselves are a large source of food. All except for the sick one. Negotiations then begin to ransom the sick captive.

The midgets reveal that the rats can bring the captive, alluding to a close relationship between the two types of vermin. While the two groups continue to vie for the upper hand, Suleidan casts wyvern watch across the chasm to guard against escape or aid.

Without warning, Suleidan vanishes in a puff of smoke only to reappear behind the midget creatures. The rats swarm towards him, but Suleidan releases jets of flame from his hands that engulf the little man-creatures and many of the rats. The other rats scatter.

Quillian ties her rope to Corwin's and tosses the rope across the chasm to Suleidan. Suleidan begins to pound a piton into the ground and then ties the rope off. At that moment, a swarm of midget men emerge into the cavern. Four are paralyzed by Suleidan's warding, but six others get through to maul Suleidan.

Corwin immediately runs to the rope as Quillian anchors it for him. He climbs across the chasm as Suleidan takes a pummeling. As he takes a shot from the little clubs Suleidan manages to separate one of the critters' head from his shoulders.

Corwin reaches the other side and lets a dagger fly which misses and drops down into oblivion. Meanwhile, Quillian, now free of her responsibility in holding the rope fires a sling stone across the way and connects with one of their heads. That's two midget men down.

Suleidan takes another shot or two and fails to fend off their attacks. With a mighty flailing of his limbs, however, he does manage to cut the rope that was traversing the chasm, leaving Quillian without a way across for the moment. Corwin drops another midget with an underhanded dagger throw as he closes in with his sword drawn. After another sling stone goes wide, the remaining (three?) two ran off down the tunnels.

While debating what to do with the paralyzed midget men, Suleidan and Quillian get the rope back over the chasm while Corwin ties the critters up. They wake up and plead their case. Untying their legs, the group has them lead the way to the captives amongst promises of shiny things and something to make you forget your worries.

The midget men lead the group further into the caverns where a small congregation of them seems to be with the six captives. The one boy, McThacker's son, is ill and can't walk. The other captives are all relieved.

As the captives are untied, Suleidan spreads around some gold and the midget creatures bring a small pile of some sort of weed. They also brought a couple of metal drums and a clay pitcher filled with...?

A meeting was set up by Corwin for the mayor to come to the cavern entrance in two days to negotiate some sort of compromise. The captives were freed and the group made its way wearily to Thantry again.

Session length: 4.5 hours

XP: 80/hr/lvl +/- roleplaying bonus

Treasure: Vampiric touch scroll from metal drum, a note and a map from the other drum, some copper, some darts, a bundle of some kind of weed and a clay jug with...?

Casualties: A mass of rats, 3 fireballed midget critters, 3 more burnt midget critters with a mass of rats, then 3 (or 4?) more midget critters.

PC’s Present: Corwin, Suleidan, Xel, Elyas
NPC’s Present: Bren, Greathen the Innkeeper, and The Mayor, Pretty/Farmer Girl, Quillian, Villager One/Two, Sick Child,
Location: Small Hamlet, Thantry, South of Lesserd Forest

Description of our game: Third Session - leaving the Hollows with the rescued farmers, and having a nice night at the inn.

Short Version: Suleidan, Corwin, and Quillian return from the Hollows bringing back the sick child. The group discussed the negotiation meetings that is to be held with the "little ones" to the villagers and mayor. Met a stranger skilled in herbalism at the bar (Xel), the stranger and Suleidan helped heal the boy. Soon after they met a second stranger that visited the inn (Elyas), Suleidan, Xel and, Elyas have a nice chat. Eventually Xel and Elyas are invited and accepted as companions.

Long Version: The party leaves the hollows with the rescued farmers, its 5:30 and night has already fallen since it being winter. Sule carries the McThacker boy as the group returns to town. The companions hear about the gallant heroes that headed into the hollows. The friends make their way to the inn where Bran immediately asks if they found the missing farmers. Replying Corwin indicates that all were fine except that the McThacker boy seems to be ill. The crowd was very excited at this new. Then Corwin goes on to tell of absence of ghosts and about the pesky evil little creatures seem to reside in the hollows. The crowds mood changes as they learn that they would be discussing how they will get along living with the little ones in the hollows.

This is when Corwin informs the crowd on his beliefs that the creatures only accosted members of the town because they entered their lair. Suddenly the villagers grow upset and want to remove the creatures from the hollows, which would seem nearly impossible considering their great slyness. That is when the villagers are told that the littles have said they would leave them alone if left alone. The villagers still seemed very upset at this and decided to take up arms against them which might of happened if not for the quick soothing words of Corwin and Suleidan.

Corwin tells of the meeting two days from now with the little's leader for negotiation reasons. It is also said how if the littles don’t come to the correct terms certain actions might have to be taken against them. Most seem to agree while a few are still angry at the idea. The Mayor Gravini suddenly steps in praising Corwin for a beautiful speech. Mayor Gravini was told to come with Corwin to the negotiations so the mayor may take charge of the dealings. Finally Gravini says for this to be settled in the morning and to leave the hollows to the evil little creatures till it is all settled.

Greathen gathers a meal for the people as Bran approaches Corwin and invites him to his table where they joyfully talk about old times. Quillian silently slips in and takes a seat next to a thin heavily robed man, and Suleidan next to Quillian. Greathen the innkeeper brings forth two bowls of turnip soup for the hungry heroes. This is when Quillian smells spicy scents coming from the stranger, odors more pungent even than that of the soup. Suleidan agree to in heal the boy after he has finished with his well earned soup.

The stranger generously tries to get the Innkeeper to share his wonderful ale recipe with him which Greathen gracefully denies. Quillian then asks for a mug of ale and starts up a small chat with the stranger. Learning that he is a traveling man looking for some excitement. Suleidan then carefully takes one of the metal cylinders from his pack, inspects it then find a scroll inside. Suleidan tries to judge just what this scroll is when he catches both the magical writing and Greathen's wandering eye he quickly puts the scroll back in the cylinder and into the pack. Quillian suggests waiting to study this scroll until in the confinement of their rooms.

A Pretty, Nameless, tart, farm-girl/wench approaches Corwin and puts her arms around him from behind. As Corwin gets a little friendly with the girl Suleidan heads off for the boy as the stranger suggests he may be of assistance with the boys aid considering he is skilled in herbalism. They continue up the
stairs toward the boys room when the inn's door opens and a second stranger enters and heads for the innkeeper, throws down a pricey gold coin and asks for practically anything HOT. While back to the first stranger who is traversing the stairs along with Suleidan, the question is asked concerning the name of the stranger. Suleidan learns from a few questions that this man is actually a traveling herbalist going by the name of Xel.

Elyas grabs the HOT soup prepared for him by Greathen and takes it to the nearest table, setting it down and propping up his halberd and bow against the wall and his wet cloak on a hook close to the fire and finally his backpack which is set down along next to the rest of his equipment. Amazed at the sight of such a weapon as this halberd a villager eagerly asks how he acquired such an item. Elyas simply replied it was his fathers.

Suleidan and Xel eventually enter the child’s room where Suleidan examines the child for the source of the illness. Xel notices that the child is running a fever from the infected wound on his shoulder which Suleidan agreed was the source of the problem after a close expectation. Laying his hands on the child Suleidan invokes his healing power while Xel used some Xavier's Wort for the fever and Sedative to help the child's rest. Suleidan and Xel head down stairs where Suleidan sits next to the new stranger and Xel next to him. Brought up for the need of adventure Xel asks Suleidan if he is need of the service from a herbalist. Sule happily tells of how another companion would always be nice.

We hear of how Elyas headed this way in search of the missing people when he found out they had already been rescued by this small group of friends. Elyas then told of the news, roaming bands of brigands, ghost stories and the like. Suleidan then gleefully tells hid own tales of a certain run-in with a rather nasty mage, his travels in the Icy Mountains, and his battle against Shadow Fiends. Also added were Elyas's stories of the Icy Mountains, and the rumors of the Sythian Mages. It has been decided that Xel and Elyas will come along and venture with them, ending the nights little event with all the characters heading for a simple and good nights rest.

Session length: 2 hours

XP: 90/hr/lvl

Treasure: A couple of full bellies and a good nights rest

Casualties: None =)

IC Date: 5/10/731
RL Date: 2/11/2002
PC's Present: Corwin, Quillian, Suleidan, Elyas, Xel, Ederin
NPC's Present: Greathan, Eliza, Mayor Gravini, Bran, a racoon, Suleidan's horse
Location: Thantry, Leserd Forest

Description of the game: Fourth session. Left Thantry with new members Elyas and Xel heading North. Come upon Ederin and save him from pack of hungry wolves.

Short Version: Corwin, Quillian, Suleidan, Elyas, and Xel set out from Thantry, northbound, on the road. About 3 days out of Thantry the party saves Ederin from a pack of seven hungry wolves. Everyone then makes camp together for the night and a racoon aparently takes a liking to Elyas.

Long Version: Elyas and Xel awake at the inn to find the group they met the night before (Corwin, Quillian, and Suleidan) have aparently already risen and left the Inn. Seeing eachother in the hallway outside their rooms, Xel and Elyas greet eachother and decide find their new friends. They gather their belongings and head down to the common room where Elyas asks the innkeeper where he might find them. Greathan, the inkeeper, responds that they have gone out to take a little air and discuss some things. Thanking him, Xel and Elyas head out into the crisp early morning air to find them.
Shortly the two groups meet up a little ways down the street and there is a bit of conversation about everyone's plan for the near future. Amidst the talking, with a dark, faraway look on his face, Elyas tells everyone enigmatically that he is mainly interested in doing anything that goes against the Sythians and their minions. The subject is quickly changed however since it apears to be a somewhat uncomfortable topic for Elyas. Corwin, Quillian, and Suleidan tell the other two that they have business to the north. Elyas does not have anything in particular he must do but mentions an interest in seeing the big cities nearby, namely Rattletown Branch. Xel is traveling the world. Everyone agrees that it is safer to travel in a group so they will all head north together at least till the north road meets the east road to Rattletown Branch.
On the way back to the inn for breakfast, the party spots the Mayor walking alone on the other side of the street. Corwin heads over to talk to him and tells everyone else to go ahead and eat while he has a talk with the mayor. Corwin tells the mayor that he and his companions are leaving town very soon and hopes he will acompany them to the meeting he setup for him and the cave dwelling, would-be kidnappers. The mayor is extreamly reluctant to go anywhere and talk to them or risk harm to any more people. Corwin explains how it would go back on his word if the mayor did not show up as planned, and that it is in the best interest of everyone to co-exist with them. The Mayor responds that the creatures have already proven treacherous and this meeting could prove to be a trap. To this Corwin says that the creatures have already payed for their mistakes with the lives of several of their kin, and would probably not harm anyone again, but the Mayor is adament. Eventually it is agreed that the Mayor will keep people from going around the caves or bothering the creatures and hopefully this will mean the creatures will leave the townspeople alone as well.
Meanwhile, inside the inn, the rest of the party is looking for a bit of bacon and eggs. Unfortunatly the breakfast menu is about as slim as the dinner menu; turnip soup or oatmeal. Greathan tells everyone the hard winter has drained his stores and expresses hope that spring comes soon. Corwin rejoins the group and everyone finishes breakfast together.
Now everyone begins thinking about the upcoming trip and the supplies they need. The party asks Greathan if they could buy supplies from him but he has none extra and recommends they try the general store. Elyas recalls that he gave the innkeeper a gold piece the night before, which should cover his bill and get him some supplies. Greathan agrees and sends an errand girl (Eliza) to buy some supplies from somewhere. Once the little girl returns, Elyas thanks her and looks through the stuff as he packs it away into his backpack. Shortly after this everyone heads to the general store, stocks up, then heads north out of town.
On the edge of town Corwin's friend Bran meets them. He bids them farewell, safe travel, and good luck in their endevors.
Three days travel north along the road is uneventfull. Then as the third day grew close to an end the party hears what sounds like many dogs snarling. The sound is coming from up the road to the north and everyone moves a bit faster to investigate. Soon Suleidan is able to make out a group of seven wolves aparently surrounding a figure who is desperately spinning a spear around to keep them at bay. Once the party gets closer Elyas shouts to the figure and asks if he needs a hand. The man replies sardonically that he was not waving his spear around for fun, and the party rushes to his aid.
Elyas drops his backpack, unslings his halberd, dropping it as well, and runs as fast as he can with weapons drawn. Corwin also rushes to help and bellows a wordless warcry, hoping to distract the wolves. Suleidan and Quillian are on the one horse together and gallop ahead to interveen between the man and the wolf nearest him. As the party aproaches, a wolf leaps for the man's throat and he deftly bends over backward to dodge, then sends a counter spear-jab at the attacker but misses.
Corwin yells some more as he and Elyas continue to run full speed to the fight. Suleidan's horse plows into the fray as another wolf leaps at the stranger. Suleidan trys to fend it off with a shield bash but misses and the wolf bites the horse. Suleidan responds by extending a hand towards several wolves, sending bright fire from his fingertips. Three wolves yelp in pain and run a short ways off, tail between their legs and begin rolling in the snow. Meanwhile the stranger stabs a wolf with his spear, wounding it and sending it back a few paces yelping in pain. Quillian leaps from the back of the horse, bringing down a wolf with her longsword. The wolf does not get up again.
By now corwin has reached the fight and he intercepts one of the wolves Suleidan burned, finishing it off with a thrust from his sword. Suleidan dismounts and atempts to cleave a wolf with an overhead chop from his longsword, but the blade only tastes snow. Xel is still moving at a fast walk towards the group, and Elyas is nearly upon the remaining attackers. With two of their number dead on the ground, and three wounded, the wolves suddenly find themselves weakened and outnumbered. They flee into the woods.
Suleidan asks the stranger if he is alright, but gets no reply. The stranger, seeing the wolves have fled, leans heavily on his spear and sways on his feet. He nearly falls but for Corwin rushing to hold him up. Suleidan meanwhile lays his hands upon the horse and prays to Fyrre for healing, but does little more than cauterize the wound. Elyas runs back down the road to gather his halberd and backpack.
While Corwin and Elyas skin and butcher the wolf carcasses, and Suleidan prays over the horse more, the stranger thanks everyone, telling the group he was just trying to make camp a little early when the wolves came upon him just before he could make a fire. Everyone agrees a fire would be an excellent idea right about now, since it is getting dark and cold. The stranger leads them to the side of the road where he has stacked some dry wood already and camp is made.
Soon a merry blaze is started and Suleidan makes a hearty meal out of the fresh meat. Elyas asks the stranger what finds him on the road and introduces himself. The stranger begins to say that he is going somewhere and with a start, realizes he has not introduced himself. He tells the group his name is Ederin.
There is a quiet moment in which Ederin warms his hands by the fire and Suleidan turns the meat some, then suddenly Elyas points to the edge of the camp and anounces that they have a visitor. All eyes turn to see a racoon peering at them curiously from the edge of the campfire light, probably drawn by the smell of meat. Once it sees that everyone is aware of its presence it darts back into the cover of nearby underbrush. Elyas cuts a two-fist sized portion of wolf meat and tosses it toward the bushes the racoon disapeared into. He says that this will hopefully keep the critter from rummaging around in their supplies tonight while they sleep, but the others are wary and decide to seal their things up tight and set a watch.
Ederin thanks everyone again for saving him from the wolves' belly. Suleidan speaks for everyone and tells him any one of them would also hope a stranger would come to their aid. Ederin studies the party a bit more now that he has time and it is plain he is curious about them. After all how often do you see humans traveling with a halfling and an elf. In responce to curious looks everyone else introduces themselves and explains that they are headed to the city north of there. While this is going on Elyas quietly sits there and begins smoking, salting, and parceling the meat so it will last them a while.
Soon everyone is thinking of bedding down for the night and the watch is organized. Just as everyone is settling down, much to everyone's suprise, the racoon wanders into the camp and curls up at Elyas' feet. There is a mixture of humorous and mistrustful talk from the party but when Elyas lays down to go to sleep the racoon snuggles up next to him and aparently falls asleep as well. Everyong else secures their belongings against small inquisitive mammals before going to sleep.

NPC's Present: a racoon,
Location: Thantry, Leserd Forest

Fifth session: Souls from the Past.

Short Version:
The Group heads north, continueing their journey northward towards Springstoniontown Forge. Not long into their journey for the day, they come accross a party of the forest which one might call huanted. The elf of the group, Suleidan hears voices talking of debts owed, while te group as a whole hears childish laughter on the wind... About this time a newcomer enters the scene... Nalia, the Elf

After some time, the group comes across a dryad who seeks aid... Her forest is being fouled by a few trolls. The group offers to help, and not long after, the five trolls are dead, and the Dryad offers them what little she has...

Long Version: (Suleidan's Perspective)

The path was long, the light easily penetrating the wintered forest. Snow had bathed the landscape, and the day was as bright as it could be. Occasionally a strong wind could be felt blowing, and the path went on...

A day like any other... thankfully... At least for the start of it. As with too many days, something began to tug at my soul once again... This time it was the laughter and taunts of the woods. Over and over, they would giggle, and they would call out to me... ' we remember the elves... we remember the fyrre child.. a debt is owed to us '... or something like that. I called out to whoever it was calling to my very soul... there was no answer...

The voices came from all directions, but seemed to be originating fromt he brances of the trees above, and around us. My companions could not hear it, though one of them, Elyas, did seem to be able to hear their laughter.

Only shortly after it began, another rider, coming faster than us, from the south, was about to cross our path... It was a female elf, and she as soon as saw us, as began to hear the voices herself. She told me, she was here to help me, and to ignore the voices... But I ignored her, and started searching the trees of of the path we traveled, and climbed one...

The voices grew more persistent, and I swear as I reached high up into the tree, I saw one of the ones speaking to me... It was a small creature, white like the snow, very agile looking, it just sat there blinking at me...

I asked it, how I might repay this debt, and that I wished to know what it was, but none of my inquiries were acknowledged... as it were with the whole encounter. It was about this time when my companion Elyas had encountered another being, north of us, and around a bend... and I was told I was needed... So departing the little one, who, had disappeared by the time I returned my attention to it, I thought to myself, One day I will be back, and find out about this debt.

Coming around the bend, I saw beauty like I had not saw much of in my days... A beauty like those of my race, an elf-like quality that drowned my eyes in her face. She was white as the snow as well, and identified herself as 'Red-Oak'. She was a dryad, a fey. She called upon me, and perhaps nalia too, I do not know, she called upon the elf, to aid her.. There
were trolls, at least five, that were rampaging her forest... and had killed a few orcs that had just been in the forest before us.. These trolls also threatened her tree, which was her life essence.

I quickly pledged my help, and my companions, were just as quick as I, not needing to feel the relationship that I felt with her obviously... the pull to her, I had felt, the moment I saw her...

Quickly, We headed towards where the trolls were last known to be..... Just as quickly, we came upon them, or moreso, they came upon us... They had lie in wait, and surprised us... thankfully their claws did not meet much flesh, as they accosted the group.

With some quick maneuvering, I, who was amongst the lead of the group, positioned myself to where I could assault them with the Wrath of Fyrre. For the second time in almost as many weeks, I called down the rain of fire from Fyrre. The trolls wrythed in agony, as a smile grew on my face, the flames consuming them.

While most of them remained standing, it was not hard to see that they were in trouble... I set myself to get ready to hack them to pieces with my blade. Just as I had myself set, my companion Quillian, the quick one, I have had the honor of travelling with over the last few months, took down a troll in one mighty arc of her dagger. Just as she finished withdrawing her dagger however, pain shot through my body.

Tendrils of white fire, electricity, flew through the air, striking me, quillian and the trolls quite severely. The trolls were now smoldering lumps of what they once were... and I was quite shaken, stunned at whatever raw power had bit into me. the voice, the chant, I turned around, and at once, my eyes set upon the newcomer, elven female... A Mage... Not only that, but a mage no afraid to use the magic so destructive as this. My eyes did not trail on her for long, for my companion Quillian, was nearly dead. She was unconscious with the strike, yet still breathing.

I quickly called down Fyrre's blessings upon her, asking him to heal her, with all the power I had in me to do. ... Soon she was conscious again, but equally as stunned as me... The ligtning strike had harmed her far more than me...

We collected ourselves, I, keeping my eye on the mage, and giving her stern words of warning, if that were to ever happen again. Elyas had dug into their 'lair' you might call it, and found what could be assumed to be the possessions of the orcs the trolls had killed, and whatever else they had collected....

The dryad had reappeared, and thanked us deeply. Her forest was once again restored to what it had been... She said she would give us each a favor, a boon she called it... for the aid we gave to her. and while my friends as what they will, it is here that I sit in deep thought, trying to find what it is I wish to ask...

PCs present: Corwin, Ederin, Elyas, Nalia (Aeryn), Quillian
NPCs present: Red Oak the dryad, a treant, the raccoon, Cedar Carne, Malory the barmaid, Xel, Suleidan

Description of the game:

Sixth session. The group makes their way out of Lesserd forest and north to Springsoniatown. Ancaren joins the group at the inn and some intrigue comes into play.

Short version:

The group gets their boons granted by Red Oak. After some worry over their progress through the forest, the group is escorted out by a treant.

In Sprinsoniatown Suleidan meets with some friends and Corwin does as well. The rest find an inn and get rooms and baths. Ancaren shows up and catches himself up with Quillian and Suleidan.

The raccoon supplies some comic relief. Aeryn (Nalia) draws some attention from a man in the inn who in turn draws some attention from the group. Ederin and Corwin make some conversation with the man who turns out to be looking for an elven mage named Nalia, wanted for being unregistered and killing some guards in Coopersville.

Long version:

Corwin requests aid from Red Oak if he passes through the forest again and she hands him a small wooden disk with some writing on it. The symbols on the disk move and change of their own accord. By presenting the token to any fey, he should receive their assistance.

Quillian asks if Red Oak can improve her dagger at all, and Red Oak puts a glamer on it that will alert Quillian to danger that is near. Suleidan asks for a disk like the one given to Corwin and Red Oak gladly gives it.

Xel, a bit embarassed, has Corwin translate into elven for him that he would like a lock of Red Oak's hair and she obliges. Aeryn (Nalia) asks for a wooden token as well, while Ederin, not wanting to be indebted to anyone, refuses any payment.

Suleidan asks Red Oak if she hears the children laughing. She responds that she does hear them, but that the plants will tell her nothing of it. Finally, Elyas asks for a token of the fey and gets one.

A mile and a half from where the orcs were found slain, the party makes camp. The next day's travel is slow and there is a persistent feeling of being watched. It puts everyone a little on edge.

Elyas stops everyone when he hears the laughter again. Ederin, inspecting a tree, tells the group that he believes they've been going in circles. He marks the tree with some ash.

As the end of the day approaches, the marked tree has not appeared so the party makes camp. Elyas, sitting quietly, looks off into the surrounding forest. Corwin comes over to inquire about his health. As Elyas looks up at the moon, something passes in front of it, obscuring the view. At that very moment, the friendly raccoon perks up and darts off in the other direction.

A bit spooked, Corwin has Quillian and Aeryn (Nalia) wake the others as a precaution. Their fears are unfounded, however, when the raccoon returns with a small meal in his paws.

As the party eats breakfast they notice they're out of wolf meat. Not long after, Ederin notices a VERY familiar looking tree. At this moment, Elyas and Aeryn (Nalia) hear the laughter again. Ederin doesn't see the mark he made, but after close inspection he finds some flecks of ash in the crevices of the bark.

As the group discusses what might be going on, a voice speaks out of nowhere, "Vout na try Sidhe dak." Everyone is startled, but are suprised even more so when the tree moves. The group backs away and the tree repeats himself a couple of times.

Apparently the tree decided that Aeryn (Nalia) "must not be" as he taps a root on the ground. After mentioning hearing some strange things in the wood, the tree says that Aeryn must not be a Sidhe. He then tells the group that he hears children. He gets a little flustered from all the fast questions and asks the group to leave the forest post haste.

The treant agrees to escort the group out, remarking of how their fires make him uncomfortable. Elyas asks the treant if he knows what the laughter is. The treant says that the trees of the forest won't tell him.

The treant escorts the group for three days north to the edge of the wood. After that, it's a day and a half to the gates of Springsoniatown. On the way, the group picks up supplies.

The group decides on an inn in which to lodge and Corwin and Suleidan plan on meeting people within the city. Suleidan heads off to meet his friends with the letter and the map found in The Hollows outside Thantry. Corwin follows him, wanting to finally get a look at the letter. Corwin suggests copying the letter and Suleidan says that is what he and his friends are about to do.

Suleidan begins to head off again, but Corwin isn't satisfied. Suleidan says copying the letter on the spot is too risky due to prying eyes in the city, but he gives Corwin his word that he will get to see the letter. Corwin agrees and Suleidan does his business giving Corwin a copy of the letter and the map.

As Corwin goes to meet his friends, the others busy themselves renting three rooms and ordering baths at the inn. Aeryn (Nalia) heads up to her room to get some rest. At this point, a man enters the inn. It turns out to be Ancaren, a friend of Quillian's and Suleidan's. After joining the table, he and Ederin have a bit of a staring match.

Quillian and Ancaren spend some time catching up while Elyas bathes. A wet raccoon coming from the back room causes a small ruckus. Ancaren is a bit surprised by the furball.

Suleidan returns to the inn. He greets Ancaren and hands a pouch to Quillian. Ancaren tells the two of his visit to Magmaville in Edilar and Suleidan inquires as to the whereabouts of his brother, Malissin. Corwin returns to the inn.

Suleidan hands Corwin a small pouch as Corwin and Ancaren introduce themselves. Elyas and Corwin order some food as Ederin gets his bath. Ederin returns to introduce himself to Ancaren and apologize. Corwin heads in for his turn in the bath. Meanwhile, the raccoon has become quite the conversation piece.

Ancaren spreads some rumors of odd things in Lesserd Forest that the rest of the group can easily validate. Aeryn (Nalia) comes downstairs and sits at a table. One of the men in the inn seems to be interested in her business. Suleidan and Ancaren discuss the voices from the forest and the possible meaning behind it all while Quillian bathes.

The raccoon turns Elyas into its own personal jungle gym to the delight of those in the inn. Corwin excuses himself to converse with the innkeeper. He comes back having ordered a round of drinks.

Ancaren starts to muse about a tale of Elyas and the raccoon as well as the priest and two honor bound knights. The tale seems to grow as Ederin explains himself and his philosophy. Xel enters the inn. He and Ancaren introduce themselves. Malory, a barmaid, pets the raccoon, and it looks like she's petting Elyas' lap. This leads to some amusement.

Nalia gets up to get her bath and the man in the back of the inn watches her closely. Corwin, in turn, watches him closely. This draws Ederin's and Quillian's attention to the man as well. As Nalia heads back to her room from the bath, the man in the back watches her go.

Ederin decides to join the man and Corwin soon follows, informing the man that he just now figured out who he was. The man, Cedar, talks of looking for a woman. Corwin and Ederin jest politely at this statement until Cedar says with much disgust that he is looking for a female mage. The mention of Thantry sparks some interest as Elyas and Malory flirt with each other.

Cedar says he's looking for an elven woman named Nalia who killed some guards in Coopersville. Ederin states that they saw someone on their way north that fit the description and she was heading south. Corwin recalls the events in the forest and says that Cedar may want to mention them to his father.

Cedar gets a bit defensive asking what Corwin knows of his father. Corwin says that his father rules over his home town. Cedar inquires as to Corwin's identity and Corwin gives it saying he is an emissary for the government of Tuth. Cedar ponders the name Ecksley and informs Corwin that his father had served under him in the 3rd mage war.

Cedar and Corwin talk a bit of Corwin's father, but Cedar remembers little (and Corwin remembers even less). Elyas finishes his ale and decides to pay Nalia a visit in her room. Ancaren soon decides to retire.

RL date: 2/25/02
PCs present: Corwin, Ederin, Elyas, Aeryn (Nalia), Quillian, Ancaren, Suleidan
NPC: Cedar, Xel

Short Version:

The group continues chatting away in the inn with Cedar and eventually hires him. After this the group spends the rest of the day restocking their supplies such as food and other nessesities then head to bed. The group is then urged out of bed by their rooms bursting open and 12 OOS and 3 IMG ordering them to surrender and come with them. Doing so the group gives over their (visable ) weapons and follows the goverment officials out of the inn and into the slums. After ordering the group down a dead end ally the OOS open fire with their crossbows. Realizing that these are not really IMG or OOS officiers the group retaliates, first Suleidan with the powers of Fyrre, then the rest of the group picking off those left standing with various hidden daggers.

Long Version:

As the day passes the group continues to pass the time in the inn while some members talk to Cedar, and the rest continue to get to know Ancaren.

Those with Cedar soon discovered that he was in the area and headed north while looking for an elven woman with long blonde hair. Cedar went on to tell that she attacked and killed 2 OOS guards in Coopersville with magic and that the woman's name is Nalia. Eager to help, the group told Cedar of a woman similar to the description they'd just heard though no one in the group could remember if she went north or south. With no disernable direction to turn, Suleidan offered to pay Cedar as a guardsman for the group, to which he accepted. After a bit of drama concerning an Anthorian and Cedar, the group split up to resupply for the trip back south.

After a small amount of time the group eventually met once again at the inn and decided on accomodations for the night. With this out of the way, everyone retired early so that they could get an early start in the morning. What they didnt count on was just how early that was to be.

At about 3 in the morning the doors to the groups rooms burst open and in rushed a group of 12 OOS Soldiers and 3 IMG mages, who immediately demanded that the companions surrender and follow along peacably. After a bit of blustering and poistering, the group eventually gave in and surrendered their weapons (except for Cedar whom they allowed to keep his sword). With the companions in tow the goverment officials led the way through they city of Springsoniatown. As they traveled, the homes and buildings around them began to slowly decline in quality and upkeep. When asked about this unusal route the IMG Captain answered that the companions were being taken to headquarters via the back way to ensure secrecy. Seeing little else to do but follow along the companions simply nodded and followed.

Shortly there after the march finally stopped and the companions were ordered to move infront and enter an ally. Suspecting something was amiss the group had second thoughts but again realized there is little to be done when someone has a loaded crossbow trained on you. Unfortunately the fears of the group were confirmed when they reached the end of the ally and turned around to the OOS Soldiers opening fire.

The first barrage was thankfully hastily shot and therefore did little to no damage, though Cedar took several bolts in order to protect Suleidan. With this unprovoked attack finally proving that something was not right, Suleidan called upon the power of Fyrre and used it to send a terrible spell at the IMG/OOS at the other end of the ally. So terrifying was its power that only 4 of them were left standing after he had run its course. While Quillian and Cedar quickly dispatched 2 of the 3 remaining guardsman, Ancaren quickly took off in pursuit of the IMG Captain so that he might get some answers. Unfortunately his aim was too good this night and the hidden daggers he threw squelched the last bit of life from the mage. Quickly scanning the battlefield, Ancaren saw the last soldier drop his weapons and quickly run away with a frightened look on his face, . This time taking care not to kill the man so they could have someone to question, Ancaren sank a dagger into the leg of the soldier and dropped him to the ground wounded but still alive.

With the battle over and the companions still alive they set about securing the soldier and searching the bodies for some clue as to what provoked this attack and who these men were.

NPC: Cedar, Xel, Nalia for some,

Preface: ( Done on the Group Boards )

The group had helped clean up the bodies, and did some work to make them very hard to identify. They collected what items they could find on the fallen, and hid the bodies in some dark dank alley way...

As this was happening, Ancaren interrogated the lone surviving 'oos' soldier. He was not very responsive, but what little information was retrieved, it was pretty clear that our group had just gotten lucky, and escaped a fate to be handed by us by the Poison Black Rose.

Our interrogation was ended prematurely when......

Short Version:

Our prisoner was murdered... Ancaren quickly identified the assailent and chased after (her), chasing up the walls in what modernly would be called "Jackie Chan Style" (hehe). After a quick altercation, she ... left Flying off into the night.

The group quickly decided to leave town, and after some argument had ended up just outside of the lesserd forest... When they were greated by a quickling, who had a message for Suleidan.

Long Version: (As told by Suleidan):

(continued from preface)

A few (hard to count, they were so fast), bolts of what looked light balls of energy plummetted into our prisoners chest, utterly obliterating what little there was left to his life. We would have had to kill him anyways, he was a worshipper of Diadra, and worked for the Poisoned Black Rose, in all likelihood...

Ancaren was a little surprised, having the prisoner die, practically in his hands, ... He quickly sprinted up the walls of the alley, (very high, ... he was amazing), he answered the assailant (a lady) with his very own attack of magical energy... though from our distance away it was impossible to really tell that for sure... I had found out later...

She spoke his name... and tried to fell him with a spell to put him to sleep, Our Ancaren is a sturdy one, both in wit, and in stamina, and he withstood the mental assault... She said some quick words, and departed, after sprouting wings, flying off into the night... I doubt it is the last time we will be seeing her... It will be all to soon, too.

We disposed of our prisoners body, much like the others, and decided that we definately had to be getting out of town, ... it now being a few hours before dawn. We rode long, until dawn, ... we were well out of the city, in some farmland.

We stopped by a farm, and bought some horses... we wanted to have speed as our ally, if needed. The farmer was very understanding, and did happen to have the few things we needed, although the saddles and other equipment will have to be purchased at our next town...

We continued south to the Lesserd, ... I and Ancaren having talked at length about it, and thinking that it held a greater importance, at the present time than the north... We did not want the happenings in the Lesserd to spread to far, before we were able to glean what information we could more from it, and try to somehow deal with whatever the 'debt' was that we have learned about.

Some of our travelling companions, however, did not realize why we have decided to make a large circle, and once again enter the forest which had, as it were, just escorted us out of itself... Sigh, ... Time will tell how this bunch will be... it seems that they will not accept me as their Leader, or if they will, that they do not have faith in me at present time to make the right decisions.

Time will tell.

As the last night approached, it brought us to the edge of the Lesserd Forest. We agreed to make camp, outside of the forest, and would scout around some the next day...

Sometime near the middle of the night, our group was visitted by an outsider... A quick little thing, blazing fast... speaking just as fast too, inquired about me. Sensing nothing ominous about this creature, this " Quickling ", I quickly responded to it, and said he had found who he was looking for.

The quickling gave me a letter, I only wish now, I had looked at the seal earlier, or I may had tried to send a response... too bad... , I gave the quickling a few gold as a 'tip', for this was obviously something important, to have a messenger such as this, a creature I had not dealt with before... He departed as quickly as he came, leaving me with the letter in my hands...

Artanel,... House Artanel, it was my Brother's House, the elven Noble. He had left me not all that long ago, less than two harvests ago... He had sent this message to me, at great lengths, it must be important,

And so now my eyes set upon this letter, reading it, happy to receive it and hear from him.....

....

PCs present: Aeryn, Ancaren, Arlon, Corwin, Elyas, Quillian, Suleidan

NPC’s present: Cedar, Xel, Racoon, Red Oak, Mefin Nif

Session Length: 4 hours

Location: Leserd Forest and then the bizarre world of fairies

Treasure: Free air.

Causalities: Those who missed the session.

XP Awarded per hour: 90xp/hr (and a bonus of 90xp/level)

Preface: The interrogation of the Poison Black Rose prisoner was ended prematurely when an unidentified assassin murdered him. Ancaren quickly identified the female murderer and chased her up the walls "Jackie Chan Style.” After a short struggle, she flew off into the night. The group quickly decided to leave town, and after some argument had ended up just outside of the Leserd forest... When they were greeted by a quickling, who had a message for Suleidan.

Short Version:

After reading the letter delivered by the quickling, Suleidan (having had enough sleep) stays up with Cedar. Suleidan waits for a few others to sleep, and then begins to discuss the grand tournaments of the capitol (specifically the one being held in Coopersville Forge). Cedar appears uninterested. Suddenly, Ancaren wakes from a disheveling dream. He has dreamed again of the shadowy woman. Suleidan reveals his need to see Malassin at the tournament. A vision has come not only to Suleidan , but also the High Elves. A prophecy some are calling it. Suleidan is hoping that Malassin will be able to tell him more.

Everyone is awakened by a loud yell from Cedar. Everyone scrambles for battle, only to discover that Cedar is sleep walking. His dream of his past downfall from grace runs its course. The party resumes its slumber. After a brief discourse of the previous nights events (and a small yet delicious breakfast), everyone breaks camp. They continued south through the forest. Barely had their trek begun when they hear the childish laughter and screams once more. By the end of the third day, they draw near the Dryad's glade.

As the group approached the glade, they heard some shouts and a great amount of movement. As the group makes its way through the underbrush, they see a man with long hair in a ponytail crouching over a beautiful Elven maiden with white hair and blood stained white clothing. Suleidan and Ancaren recognize the man as an old friend named Arlon. After greeting each other, Arlon reveals that he too had heard the rumors concerning Leserd Forest. On his journey North to investigate these rumors, Arlon had heard a woman in the distance calling for help from the road and went to assist. There he saw small sprite like creatures attacking a beautiful Elven maiden (Red Oak). They looked like small elves with little longbows and they were shouting at the Elf maiden. When he arrived on the scene, they ran off into the wood and the maiden fell over from many wounds. And then he healed her.

After resting a bit Red Oak discloses the nature of the attacking Sprites. They are evil. Much anger is kept in them. They are new. They once danced the nights in moonlight but now they have changed. Their spirits feel like Sidhe but different more "woody". Red Oak directs the party to the Elders. The oldest of the fey. They do not reside in this world any longer. Cedar and Xel decide to stay behind. Red Oak taps on the outside of the huge oak tree she had stepped out of. She sings a light song that sounds like words slipping through tree branches and a large archway of light appears on the side of the tree. Inside the glowing archway is a dirty path leading into a bright forest of green. Approaching the party is a small Fey creature who looks like a small elf-like creature with small antlers protruding from it's forehead and an arachnid lower body. His name is Mefin Nif! Red Oak has asked him to lead the group in the land of Fairies.

The adventurers travel along for what feels like hours and notice that the sun hasn't moved in the sky at all. Time has slowed so that the adventures will only spend one day in Fairy Land according to the human time frame. Suddenly, everyone hears laughter of children playing. The laughter seems to be coming from far off to the left and up the trail. Arlon offers a prayer of protection. The session ends.

Long Version: (As told by Arlon)

After Suleidan read the letter delivered by the quickling, Quillian resumes watch. Suleidan (having had enough sleep) stays up with Quillian, while the others (except for Cedar) find sleep. Cedar sits across from the elf and halfling drinking from a small flask staring into the fire. Quillian decides to go and rest since Suleidan and Cedar are awake, nestles into a blanket and curls up. Suleidan waits for a few others to sleep, and then begins to discuss the grand tournaments of the capital (specifically the one being held in Coopersville Forge). Cedar appears uninterested.

Suddenly, Ancaren wakes from a disheveling dream. He sits up with a start and looks around. He has dreamed again of the shadowy woman. Cedar takes a long drought from his flask and offers it to Ancaren. Suleidan asked Ancaren if he was against going to the tournament. If so, then perhaps Ancaren might be able to head back to Springstonion Town Forge to procure a wagon and supplies. Ancaren could then continue at a 'leasurely' pace north, so that the others might easily catch up. Ancaren avoids giving an answer by turning the conversation back toward the tournament. Suleidan reveals his need to see Malassin at the tournament. A vision has come not only to Suleidan, but also the High Elves. A prophecy some are calling it. Suleidan is hoping that Malassin will be able to tell him more. Everyone settles down to bed except for Cedar who says he will take watch and continues to drink.

Everyone is awakened by a loud yell from Cedar. It is still dark out, and no one can tell what time of the night it is. Cedar has his sword draw and seems to be slashing at something just outside the ring of the dying fire light. Everyone scrambles for battle, only to discover that Cedar is sleep walking. His dream of his past downfall from grace runs its course. The party resumes its slumber.

The next morning is bright and sunny and a little warmer than the day before. Suleidan and Arlon are deep in prayer as everyone awakens. After a brief discourse of the previous nights events (and a small yet delicious breakfast), everyone breaks camp. Suleidan opens his soul to the forest as he enters, . . . actively seeking out the creatures who first sought him out. They continued south through the forest. Barely had their trek begun when they hear the childish laughter once more. Then ghostly voices whisper, "We still remember the Elves . . . ,” and "Come Play in our branches . . . ” Their tone turns angry and the scream. "We still remember the seed of Fyrre . . . ", and then they scream as if the children are dying a very painful death. Then the phantom voices say, "The debt must be paid . . . ”After gathering their shaken spirits, the party continues on. By the end of the third day, they draw near the Dryad's glade.

As the group approached the glade, they heard some shouts and a great amount of movement. They hear angry shouts from a male voice. They arm themselves and proceed toward the turmoil. As the group makes its way through the underbrush, they see a man with long hair in a ponytail
crouching over a beautiful Elven maiden with white hair and blood stained white clothing. The man places his hands upon the young woman and turns his eyes upward as a faint glow envelops his body. His whole form seems to rise upward slightly as he closes his eyes and lowers his head. Light shines forth from different areas of his body. Suleidan watches the man . . . the action being performed having been seen before by Suleidan's very eyes. Suleidan recognizes this unique ritual of healing as belonging to his past friend and adventuring companion, Arlon. Arlon looks toward the new comers and stands while unsheathing his sword. Ancaren begins to remember his brief stint with Arlon as well. Cedar relaxes when he see the man.

They have been touched by something. Changed. There are spirits of unrest in the forest and in the fairy worlds here. The spirits are like normal fey but not exactly. Much anger is kept in them. They are new. They once danced the nights in moonlight but now they have changed. Their spirits feel like Sidhe but different more "woody.” Arlon checks to see if any little evil creatures are still in the immediate area, but found none. Arlon also announces the news of ghost trees living in the forest.

Red Oak directs the party to the Elders. The oldest of the fey. They do not reside in this world any longer. She says that the party will have to crossover into the fairy worlds. She escorts the group because it has helped her, but warns that it is perilous for any elf to enter the world of the fey.

Once through the archway you are struck by the intensity of this place. The greens are the brightest greens ever seen. With each rustle of the wind, one can hear small crystal bells ringing out a song in the distance. Everything is so bright and colorful and new that it almost doesn't seem real. Approaching the party is a small Fey creature who looks like a small elf-like creature with small antlers protruding from its forehead and an arachnid lower body. His name is Mefin Nif! Red Oak has asked him to lead the group in the land of Fairies. Mefin Nif skips along the path leading the party (which is very odd to watch something with six legs skip). Mefin Nif chatters along telling about this leaf and that rock as he bounds along the path. The adventurers travel along for what feels like hours and notice that the sun hasn't moved in the sky at all. Time has slowed so that the adventures will only spend one day in Fairy Land according to the human time
frame.

Suddenly, everyone hears laughter of children playing. The laughter seems to be coming from far off to the left and up the trail. Arlon offers a prayer of protection. The session ends.

PCs present: Corwin, Elyas, Quillian, Ancaren, Suleidan, Arlon
NPC:

Short Version:
After entering the Realm of the Fey, the group was met by the bizarre looking creature Mefin. Standing about 1 ft high with the torso of an elf but the lower abdomen of a spider, Mefin made an interesting sight when standing and an even more bizarre picture when he began to skip along.

Mefin was the companies guide and led them to meet with the Elder Fey.

In typical Fey fashion it seemed that they were playing small jokes on the party while only giving cryptic answers to the questions asked. Eventually the questioning led to a service that the party could perform for the Fey in return for further answers.

The party was then led by Mefin to a part of the realm that seemed darker and more aggressive.

At the center of this was a pool of shifting color that the party threw stones in. Once disturbed, a huge monstrosity emerged. It had dozens of eyes and mouths. The party quickly attacked.

Long Version:

After being introduced to the small bizarre fey, Mefin, the party was then led by their guide through the wondrous realm of the Fey.

Along the trip Ancaren asked many questions that ranged from what sort of protocols they should expect to obey when meeting the elders to questions about the Fey Magic that Redoak had spoken of and it's source. Though the questions were many, the answers were few and Mefin recommended that they save their questions for the Elders who would know more.

Onward the party traveled and though hours seemed to pass the light of the sky never dimmed or grew brighter but instead the sun remained at it's constant position as if time was standing still. Though slightly disturbing, this phenomenon was not entirely unexpected since Red Oak had told them there would be little to no time lost in their journey to the Fey Realm.

Finally after what seemed like many hours of travel, Mefin stopped before a patch of razor thorns and instructed the party to enter because they had arrived at the intended destination. Though several of the party held back, obviously nervous, Suleidan and another stepped forward and vanished into what was obviously an illusion meant to protect the entrance. Their fears relived the rest of the party followed.

Upon entering the group was awestruck at the wondrous beauty of the cavern they had entered. Hundreds of feet wide and equally high, the entire cavern was covered in veins of glowing crystals. From small to enormous these perfectly formed crystals had no specific color but instead the walls were covered with a variety of colors which made for a particularly amazing sight since all of them were glowing from some sort of internal magic. Mefin was of course amused by how easily mortals were impressed and directed the party on deeper into the cave.

Deeper in he cave of course was the council of Elders which seemed to be led by a sprite bearing a staff with a red crystal atop it. Suleidan, acting as the group's speaker, voiced his questions to the Elder and received answers though they were cryptic at best. This of course began to agitate the party, Ancaren in particular, and many began voicing questions until Arlon asked if there was some service the group could provide in order to obtain further answers.

To this the old Fey smiled brightly and momentarily forgot to speak in his cryptic way as he readily agreed. Though the party had obviously been set up there was little that could be done and they agreed to follow Mefin who would lead them to their task and give them the details needed to complete it.

As Mefin led the way the party asked more questions about their task and chopped a few of the glowing crystals off of the wall with Mefin's permission. Again the fey would answer with nothing more than riddles such as, "your answers lie ahead".

Onward he led the party through a part of the Fey world that was drastically different from the fresh and alive feeling that the rest of the realm gave them. This area instead inspired feelings of fear and dread upon the party as they realized that this was also the feeling and look of the Leserd Forest which meant that perhaps the two problems were connected in some manner. Upon reaching their destination Mefin directed the party to a large crater in the ground before disappearing.

Inside the crater was a pool of some substance that was quickly shifting colors. Deciding to error on the side of caution the party threw rock into the pool to view the effects from the safety of outside of the crater.

Almost as soon as the rocks had disturbed the surface of the pool things began to happen. First one, then many eyes formed on the surface of the pool as they searched for the source of what had thrown the rock. Not seeing the hidden party, they eyes then began to emerge from the pool in the form of a huge gelatinous mass covered with dozens of eyes and mouths that exuded an evil feeling of malevolence.

Quickly the party attacked with magic and weapons as their purpose quickly became clear.

Short Version:

The battle continued. Suleidan, finding that his gifts from Fyrre seemed to leave the creature unhurt, sought to make it easier for his companions to deal their damage, and lit the worm-beast with an unnatural light. The rest of the party physically assaulted the worm-beast until it died. A Trident was found in the wormbeast.

Killing the worm thing seemed to free what was trapped inside of the pool. Conversation commenced, and the party was given a glimpse as to what was to come, if they continued on their current journeys...

Long Version: (As told by Suleidan):

The monster shrugged off my first attack... while my companions seemed to be able to somewhat do better with their magic or arms...

The monster retaliated... Sending its magics at us apparently... I was assaulted with what I must call hallucinations now, although the physical burden of it remained... Ancaren was frozen where he stood... I do not know what befell the others...

Recovering from the monsters attack, I decided that I should assist my companions, and make it easier for them to do what they were doing... I called upon Fyrre to outline the worm-beast with his fires', thus making it easier for them to do combat with it.

This tactic apparently worked, for not too long after, Elyas made a few spectacular shots with his bow, one a life ending blow.

The beast fell to the ground, spraying us with its innards as it fell, which amazingly seemed to heal me... The ooze was deteriorating, and Ancaren worked to search the inside of the monsters body, before everything evaporated into the air... He ended up finding a weapon, a trident, which the beast must have ingested sometime in the past.

Not long after the worm-beast was killed. three forms rose to the surface of the still pulsating pool. The forms came into physical being above the surface, and had twig-like appendages... Looking back at it... it seems like they were physical representations of themselves... the spirits of the Lunar Trees...

Having the Elders tell us, that all answers would be found here, ... We sought to ask these creatures those questions which we needed answers for. ... And answers we received... sort of.

It turns out, that the evil in the lesseid forrest, is spilling over from the Fairy World. The fairy world's evil presence is caused by all the pain felt by the destruction of the forests over time, and has grown to such an extent (probably due to the destruction of the island with the lunar trees), that it has taken form and substance.

The three spirits spoke of me as the father, at first, but then said I was part of the mother... the womb. After some questioning, I found that my sister and my brother were also parts of the mother...a fourth part exists, the voice, which must coax the father to bed 'us'...apparently. Much thought must be made as to what this all means, but this is what we know...

Returning to the elders of the Fairy's we were told that they were indeed remnants of the lunar trees we spoke to... and that the trident we found was apparently graced with an ability to pierce things easily... We now return to the real world... On our way to Coops, to seek more answers to the questions which are now hanging over our heads...

I am hoping Malissin will have a few ideas to this, as... the visions of the high elves does seem to directly tie into this mystery...

Corwin's Side Session

Short Version:

While most in the city are busy with the tournament, Corwin decides to take the opportunity to visit the offices of the Tuthian Military Intelligence Agency to dig for some info.

Corwin arrives and finds that they were expecting him. Rather than be detained, Corwin decides to escape from the building.... barely.

Long Version:

During the horse competition, the most watched event in the whole tournament, Corwin decides that snooping around the offices of the Tuthian Military Intelligence Agency could prove beneficial. He wanted to uncover any information regarding the late night attack that took place in Springsoniatown Forge.

After picking up some special items, Corwin headed to the offices. The secretary at the front desk was cold and ignored Corwin's attempts at conversation. To gain access, Corwin had to prove his identity by showing his signia ring. The secretary summoned a rather large man named Bruno. Corwin was to follow him through the door.

Under the guise of making a report, Corwin follows the man to the first hallway. Since the head honchos were out at the tournament, Corwin was to write his report in one of the side rooms.

Upon entering, Bruno locked him in. This was good. He would think Corwin under wraps and Corwin would easily be able to pick the lock and head upstairs into the main offices of the commander.

Just in case Bruno came back, Corwin needed something written down, so he scribbled a bunch of meaningless stuff down hoping to lull Bruno into a false sense of security. Periodically stopping to listen at the door, Corwin caught Bruno and the secretary talking in hushed tones.

The secretary was worried that it wouldn't hold him until "the others" came. Corwin wanted to know who the others were, but didn't want to find out that way. Bruno revealed his disbelief that such a small man had killed so many in Springsoniatown. That meant they knew he was there and that he was involved, but what else did they know and how did they know it?

Corwin listens further as he hears Bruno and the secretary getting fresh out in the hallway before moving off. Corwin figures this is a good time to pick the lock. He gets out his prize lockpicks and sets to work. A practiced flick and the door unlocks. Or so Corwin thought. No matter what he tried, the door just wouldn't unlock.

Baffled by his failure, Corwin tries to think of other ideas, but he is distracted, trying to figure out what he was doing wrong. Corwin decides to try and talk his way out. He had a loaf of bread that had some sedative in it. If he could get Bruno to eat it, then he'd have some time to look around before having to flee.

After pounding on the door some, Bruno comes to the other side of the door and asks if anything is wrong. Corwin bluffs, saying he has to go to the bathroom. Bruno refuses to open the door. Corwin tries to pawn the bread off on Bruno, seeing his options running out fast. Bruno is not fooled. He won't open the door for anything.

Hoping to buy himself a few moments of precious time, Corwin concocts a plan. He undoes his pants and urinates right at the foot of the door. Bruno's shoes got a spattering and he went to get them cleaned off. Seeing his opportunity, Corwin pulls out his crowbar and begins to pry at the door.

The noise brought Bruno back quickly, but Corwin figured he could deal with Bruno once he got out of the office. The job was ruined because Corwin couldn't pick that lock, but he could still get out with his life.

After a few more tries, the door comes loose with the creak of splintering wood. Corwin tried to look as menacing as possible as the dust and debris settled. Bluffing yet again, Corwin begins muttering and making hand motions as if casting a spell, playing off the fears of what happened in Springsoniatown. The secretary falls for it and runs off screaming. Bruno, however, charges with dagger drawn.

Corwin drew his own blades and quickly sidestepped around Bruno out into the hallway. Dropping a slew of marbles as he went, Corwin runs out of the building spreading caltrops as well. Bruno managed to fall on both hindrances, giving Corwin time to duck into the back alleys.

Corwin worked his way back to Arlon's house, making sure he wasn't followed. He was dissappointed in his failure, but glad to be alive. He would have to try and talk to somebody on the inside to find out if they wanted him detained for the events at Sprinsoniatown, or if it was the Rose that wanted him detained.

NPC’’s present: Cedar Carne, The mysterious and odd acting Racoon, Arlon’s house maid
Sharon, Arlon’s cook Lily, High Priest Marcile Sarfsong, and Malisin.

Session Length: three hours (foot list three hours)

Location: Coops: Arlon’s house and then The Temple of Aranthis

Treasure: Free air.

Causalities: Those who missed the session.

XP Awarded per hour: 95xp/level/hour (including the additional three hour foot list)

Preface:

Ancaren is still competing in the foot list, and Corwin has just come back from his side
session. Everyone gathers at Arlon’s house afterwards.

Short Version:

Guards and their assigned guard dogs secure the perimeters at Arlon's home outside
Coops. The group gathers to discuss the details of the day and to make plans for the next day.
The raccoon curls up at Elyas feet and takes a nap. Corwin went to see what he could find out
about the Rose in Coopersville. He was planning on snooping around some, but they were
waiting for him there. They had him detained (trapped in a room). He heard a little bit before he
finally managed to get out. They knew the members of the group were involved in the
Sprinsoniatown incident, but he did not know if it was just the government detaining him for
questioning; or it could have been the Rose. Corwin was not able to pick the lock and therefore
could not check the files. Ancaren throws a biscuit at Corwin and hits him in the head saying,
“That was not very smart.”

Ancaren reveals his history relating to the poison dilemma at the tournament: “Ancaren
was once the air to a noble house in Lithar until the head of a rival house conspired with
Ancaren's cousin to strip him of his title. Targen was the head of the rival house and Robert was
my cousin. There was a fight and Targen gave me the scar on my face from a poisoned blade. I
faced Targen in the 3rd round of the foot list and wiped the floor with him but not before he
stabbed me with a poison dagger. Only thing was I expected the tactic and had drank an anti
venom potion. He was arrested and carried off. My sister seems to be married to him and doesn’t
recognize me. I think she's charmed or enspelled somehow”

Ancaren asks Arlon and the rest if they would you like to come to the temple of Aranthis?
Everyone except Elyas volunteers to go. On the way to the temple, street urchins hired by
Ancaren, report on their mission: “We’ve been keepin' our own eyes peeled to the core, watchin'
them two blards for ya. Yes sirra! We followed right to the house 'o healin' we did and waited
through the night! Well sirra! We saw the strangest things! My youngest son here, was on watch
and I'll let him tell ya. Lain come forward and report."

Lamin is dressed in wore brown trousers two sizes too big. He is wearing a shirt sleeve as
a hat and no shirt. “Well sirra. I say a pretty lady with wings a float down from the sky. I thought
she was a messager o' the gods I did. She had another man with her. He seemed to puff right out
of thin air! The man looked mean and terrible. I couldna believe that such a pretty lady would be
with such a cruel lookin' man. The man crawled downt he side of the building and went in through
an upstairs window. The man crawled head first like he was a lizard or something, with nary a
place to put his hand. Then I saw some movement and he came back out againa holdin' your
blondie man in his arms. The blondie man didn't look all to good atall. He had blood all over his
bady. Down from his neck to his belt. Then the pretty lady saw me a starin' I knowd she did. but
she didn't say a thing. She spreaded her wings and flew off. The mean looking man bounded from
building to building and we couldn't follow."

The group continues its journey to meet the High Priest Marcile Sarfsong at the temple.
Upon meeting the High Priest, the group is introduced to a short man dressed in fine cloth. His
long golden hair is flung about wildly around his face and his bright green eyes seem to stick out
from the rest of him. He is quite young, and the way he holds himself looks as if he was well
educated and trained. Malissin is present as well and he introduces the new figure.

Ancaren explains his situation with the poisoner, and then they all share news of the death
of the poisoner and his guards and the healer watching over him. Malissin asks the group if they
will consider taking Rustlin with them on their journey north. He says. “I believe he would be a
great asset. Also I think the lad needs some world experience before plunging into the dungeons, I
mean the libraries in the IMG office here in the capital.” The group welcomes him.

Long Version: (As told by Arlon)

Guards and their assigned guard dogs secure the perimeters at Arlon's home outside
Coops. The group gathers to discuss the details of the day and to make plans for the next day.
The raccoon curls up at Elyas feet and takes a nap. Corwin went to see what he could find out

“That was not very smart.”

Sarela sits down and starts to hold a conversation with her wolves. Arlon exits to the
kitchen, not wishing to hear about feats of burglary. Sarela puts her head up in a joking manner,
but keeps talking with her wolves. Arlon returns with a platter full of cooked chicken parts in one
hand and a large bowl full of uncooked chicken remains for the two wolves. Corwin mentions that
when Bruno had him locked up in that office, he mentioned waiting for "the others" to arrive.
Sarela gets up and walks around the room for about the 20th time picking things up and putting
them in newer new places. Corwin smiles at Arlon, "Thank you, but I'm a little too jittery to keep
anything down right now. Arlon says, "Sit and have some chicken Sarela." The wolves dig into
the uncooked parts. Ancaren grabs a breast (not Sarela’s) and says, "Hmmmm food, Thank you
Arlon." Sarela smiles and comes over immediately smelling the chicken, "Oh, I am so hungry
now!" Ancaren bites into the breast (again, not Sarela’s).

Sharon, Arlon’s house keeper, puts all of the knickknacks back, cleaning up after Sarela.
Ancaren reveals his history relating to the poison dilemma at the tournament: “Ancaren was once
the air to a noble house in Lithar until the head of a rival house conspired with Ancaren's cousin
to strip him of his title. Targen was the head of the rival house and Robert was my cousin. There

charmed or enspelled somehow”

Sarela finishes her chicken and looks hungrily at Corwin's, "Are you going to eat that?"
Arlon finishes off his fifth piece of chicken and heads out of the house to check on his guards.
Sarela takes Corwin's chicken and starts to eat it. Corwin says that he will lie low for a while,
probably til after the tournament, hoping that they will think he left Coops. Then, he will find
Mestin. Sarela finishes her second helping and gets up to wander about again. Sharon eyes the
wandering lass. Sarela doesn't notice Sharon but keeps looking at things, looking like she hasn't
seen them yet. Arlon returns from his security check. Ancaren asks Arlon and the rest if they
would you like to come to the temple of Aranthis? Everyone except Elyas volunteers to go.

On the way to the temple, A street urchin calls out saying “Sir!” as he approaches the
group. Arlon assumes that the urchin is talking to him. Arlon, at the last moment, sees that the
urchin is talking to Ancaren. Three more skinny boys appear out of an alley and join the first.
Sarela looks at them all, smiling and prancing about them as she keeps humming. Street Urchin,
“We’ve been keepin' our own eyes peeled to the core, watchin' them two blards for ya. Yes sirra!
We followed right to the house 'o healin' we did and waited through the night! Well sirra! We

Arlon tosses the boy a crown. "I believe you deserve another crown for that bit of danger"
Suledian looks toward Ancaren for more explanation. "Does this have anything to do with me
finding you in the trash behind an alley Anc?" Ancaren replies, “Not directly, I don’t believe it's
her.” The group continues its journey to meet the High Priest Marcile Sarfsong at the temple.

Upon meeting the High Priest, the group is introduced to a short man dressed in fine cloth.
His long golden hair is flung about wildly around his face and his bright green eyes seem to stick
out from the rest of him. He is quite young, and the way he holds himself looks as if he was well
educated and trained. Maissin is present as well and he introduces the new figure, "Hello
everyone once again. It is good to see you all. This fine elf to my left is Rustlin Wood. Rustlin,
this is Suleidan,....etc. I was just telling the Father here about all the happenings at the
Stormbringers Academy in Magmaville."

Ancaren explains his situation, "Well to the reason I'm here . . . Something has come up
that I need help with. The clergy of Aranthis may be specially qualified to deal with this since I
suspect a case of enspelled person. You may have heard of my events in yesterday's tournament?
Well, the man was known to me and is the same who gave me the scar I wear today. He stole six
years of my life and I believe he's had her enspelled . . . when I spoke to her she didn’t recognize
me and denied that I was who I claimed, saying her brother died six years ago. I know my
countenance is not what it used to be but I believe she truly didn’t recognize me. "Which brings
me to another point: father, give my thanks to the man that brewed that anti venom, it saved my
life yesterday. They then share the news of the death of the poisoner and his guards and the
healer watching over him.

Lastly, Malissin asks the group if they will consider taking Rustlin with them on their
journey north. He says. “I believe he would be a great asset. Also I think the lad needs some
world experience before plunging into the dungeons, I mean the libraries in the IMG office here in

Description of the game: What is worng with Ancaren sister?

Short Version:
After meeting with some priests of Aranthis we went to talk to Ancaren’s sister in an inn. When finding there was no spell cast on her we left the inn. Later that night the street urchin’s son was killed while they were watching Ancaren’s sister. When visiting the street urchin’s son’s mother Ancaren found that one of his enemies is in the same building and the party decided to have a little look as to what she is up to. While they were watching here the door to her room exploded and...

Long Version:
When we first got started the party was talking with Malissin who was with Eldon Treespanner, the Arch-priest of the Aranthis temple. The reason they were there was to see if there was someone that would be able to tell if Ancaren’s sister was under some sort of enchantment. After meeting with them the party traveled through town to the inn where Ancaren’s sister was staying with her husband who was in the tournement with Ancaren and tryed to poision him. It seems they do not have a good relationship.

During the meeting with Ancaren’s sister Ancaren started to make her mad and they had to end the conversation before anything could flare up and start a large argument and yelling. The priest did not want this to happen neither did Ancaren so they left after a few questions were asked and their magic aura was read.

The visit did not seem to be profitable, because the priest said that she was not under any spell. Mallisin left Rustlin Wood with the group to aid in his learning, for he is just beginning his life here in Thardferr. The party returned to the place they were staying for the time they were in Coopersville Forge, Arlon’s house.

After staying here and eating dinner the street urchin Ancaren had hired to watch his sister’s movements throughout the city came to Arlon’s house crying and sobbing. While watching Ancaren’s sister his son was murdered by some beast that was not identified, but is belived to be a Dracokhan, due to the wounds that were suffered. The body of his boy had been ripped and torn.

After calming the street urchin down they asked him who had done this, he did not know. They got to talking with him and found that the mother of the boy was a prostitute that worked in the same brothel as one of the women that Ancaren had been having problems with earlier, Dream, and it seem that they were all in it together, so the party decided to go visit the boys mother.

While talking with the boys mother they did not find any infomation on the wareabouts of Dream and decided to take a closer look of this place. The party then climbed up the side of the building because Dream had a room on the top floor with a skylight in the celing. While watching her take a bath, we were startled by the door being blasted in.
