The Alderd Plague DM 04:29 on Sept 12, 2003 The plague that was sweeping throgh Alderd and then into Tuth and Khardfee in the late falland winter of 732 mostly died down after winter ended and people were no longer staying inside and so closely together. Through the diligence of certain churches and priesthoods who went around and if not healed the diseased taught others how to treat those that had the beginning signs of the plague, the worse was eleviated and the plague was contained.
The end result was about a 25% loss of population to Alderd (mostly those humans and halflings living in the cities) and 10% of the people in the near alderd border areas in Khardfee and Tuth.
The hardest places hit were the outlaying and small farm villages of southern Alderd and areas around the eastern Thorn wood. Many small farm thorps and some larger hamlets are now empty and abandoned. Many of the gnomish shepherds died and their flocks now run wild in the southern and western areas of Alderd. Gnoll have started to settle into the southwestern hilly areas of Alderd, mainly south of the Chelm River in Alderd and close to the Saerhud Forest of Edliar and living off the now wild goat and sheep.
